여성성에 근거한 생성의 공간

Abstract

Art often reflects the spirit of the period of spirit through Art history. Also, we know that Art presents special methods for problems of human society, bears consciousness, and gives solution. The advantage of modern art, also known as pluralism, is that it has an open attitude toward every content and expression. I show feminism art as a part of this pluralism. Feminism Art is not 'Art by woman' based on biological classification, but is a form of Art that deals with woman's problem, actions, thought, and concern in history and actuality. Today, patriarchal thought, named technological development, causes several problems such as pollution, nuclear threat, and human alienation etc. My work is an attempt to address such concerns of contemporary civic society through expressions of tolerance and reconciliation of femininity. Because my work is based on femininity, first I'd like to explain the background and process of feminism art. Second, I'd like to show femininity through my works. Femininity, which pursues tolerance rather than exclusion, commensalism rather than competition, reconciliation rather than conflict, is the first step to remedy the ills of contemporary civic society. It places much importance on the value of life and bridges the survival problems of human beings. Therefore, I show the essense of nature which cannot be explained by empirical science and human reason. I also present human beings as a part of this nature. It is through my work that I tried to illustrate the liveliness of living, breething, and being. First, I describe biomorphic shapes by lithography and forms of circle mining as circulation and restoration of biomorphic world. Second, recognizing the female body as a part of nature and a bearer of social and cultural identity, I express the woman body image by printmaking, computer graphics, photography, and installation etc. Finally, I would like to analyze, suggest my past works and search for the future direction.;미술사를 통해서 때때로 미술이 시대의 정신과 상황을 반영하고 있을 뿐만 아니라, 인간사회의 문제를 특수한 방법으로서 그에 대한 자각의 의식을 낳게하고 해결의 실마리를 찾게 하는 경우를 볼수 있다. 1970년대 이후의 문화계를 주도한 다원주의는 절대적인 가치개념을 부정하면서 모든 현상을 중시하는 경향이다. 다원주의는 하나의 통일된 사조나 운동은 아니지만, 다원주의적 경향은 많은 주제를 보여준다. 그 중에는 전통복귀의 경향, 매체간의 혼합, 차용하는 방식, 삶과 예술의 경계를 허물기 위해 예술에 정치와 이데올로기를 끌어들여 비판적으로 다루기도 했다. 이러한 다원주의의 한 축으로 페미니즘 미술을 살펴보고자 한다. 페미니즘 미술은 생물학적 분류에 따른 '여성이 제작한 미술'이 아니라 역사와 현실 속에서 여성들이 차지하고 있는 삶의 문제, 일, 사고, 관심을 반영하는 미술 형식이다. 또한 페미니즘은 생물학적으로 열등한 여성이 여성만의 가치를 순조롭게 회복하는 문제가 아니라 남녀차별의 배경이자 그것과 같은 운명인 지배와 피지배, 인종차별, 제3세계의 억압적 상황들과 같은 문제들을 극복하고자 하는 노력이다. 오늘날, 서구 백인 남성들의 이원론적이고 가부장적인 가치체계들은 무너지고, 늘 열등하다고 믿었던 주변적인 영역이 관심의 논점이 되고 있다. 기술발전이라는 가부장적 환상은 환경오염, 인간성 상실, 자연파괴 등의 여러 가지 문제들을 야기시켰다. 본인의 작품은 이러한 기존의 가치들을 포용과 화해를 지향하는 여성적 원리 속에서 치유하기 위한 하나의 작은 시도이다. 본인이 표현하고자하는 생명의 원천, 생성의 이미지와 여성성이 맥락을 같이 한다고 간주하기 때문에 먼저, 페미니즘 미술의 태동과 전개를 제1세대, 제2세대 페미니즘 미술가들의 활동상황을 살펴보고 본인 작품을 통해서 여성적 원리와 내용을 설명해 보고자 한다. 꿈틀거리고, 숨쉬며, 생동하는 생명체들의 존재의 몸부림 속에 생명력을 불어넣어 주고, 인간의 이성, 과학으로는 설명되어질 수 없는 자연의 순리와 그 자연의 일부로서의 인간에 대한 이야기를 유기체적인 생물이미지와 신체이미지의 표현을 통해서 논하고자 한다. 첫째로, 생물학적 이미지의 표현에서 유기체적인 생물형태를 석판화의 해먹과 원의 형태를 통하여 표현해 보고, 둘째로, 자연의 일부이며 여성의 정체성을 나타내는 상징성을 지닌 여성신체 이미지를 판화, 컴퓨터 그래픽, 사진, 입체설치 작업 등을 통하여 연구해 보고자 한다. 마지막으로 본인작품을 분석 제시함으로써 앞으로의 작업방향을 모색해 보고자 한다.
