行爲를 通한 空間硏究

Abstract

예술가란 자신의 내면세계에 존재하는 진실을 시각적 방법이나 조형적 방법을 通하여 創造해 나간다. 創造는 자연 그대로가 아니고 고뇌를 거쳐서 빚어지기 때문에 일찌기 19c 독일의 화가 프리드리히(Caspar David Friedrich)는 "美術이 自然과 人間 사이의 중재자로서 行爲한다"고 갈파했다. 이러한 創造的 行爲는 여러가지 방법으로 예술가에 의하여 表現되어 지고 있다. 20c 中半을 前後로 하여 복잡 다양한 사회 구조와 급변하는 환경 속에서 많은 예술가들은 의식적이거나 무의식적인 각종 다양한 표현방법들을 택하여 자신의 주관적 세계를 추구하는 이른바 '추상미술'이 등장하게 되었다. 추상미술은 이지적 성향의 기하학적 추상과 감성적인 성향의 서정적 추상으로 구분하여 볼수 있는데, 前者는 '차거운 추상'을 後者는 '뜨거운 추상'을 일컫는다. 뜨거운 추상에 속하는 '앙포르멜'이나 '액션 페인팅' 회화가 갖고 있는 묵상적이며 비 정형적 이라든가 다이나믹한 생명감 내지는 공간성이 東洋藝術의 특성과 깊은 관계가 있음을 알고, 동양의 '禪思想'을 자신 특유의 'white writing'을 개발한 'Mark Tobey'(1890∼?)의 작품과 이론을 通해 연구함과 동시에, 20c 中半以後 추상미술에 나타난 gesture의 표현 양식중 자율적 의지에 의한 dripping과 서법 정신에 기인한 Calligraphy, Tache, balaye＇를 중심으로 Jackson Pollock(1912∼1956), Pierre Soulages(1919∼?)의 작품을 時間性 空間性 偶然性으로 나누어 살펴 보았다. 그러나 本人의 화면은 이러한 뜨거운 추상을 바탕으로 하였으되 그 느낌은 비교적 서정적인 것으로서, 또한 여기에 차거운 추상에 속하는 구성주의의 기하학적인 직선을 가미 하므로써 나름대로의 추상 공산을 펼쳐 보았다. 따라서 本人은 本 論文을 通해, gesture에 의한 의식과 무의식의 순간을 自然物(즉 '나무')을 그 소재로 시작하여 결과적으로 초자연적인 추상의 세계로 화면 공간을 이루고자 하는 本人의 작품세계를 다루어 보기로 하였다.;Artists create the reality in their own inner world by means of the visual way or the formative way. Creations have been made not naturally but painfully by artists with various ways. For that reason, Caspar David Friedrich who was a German painter in the 19C, proclaimed "Art is doing as a mediator between the nature and the human being" Abstract art appeared in the circumstances changing rapidly and in the complicated and various structures of society in the 1950s. It was used for expressing their own subjective world of artists consciously or unconsciously through the various way of expression. Abstract art is classified into two kinds: geometrical abstract showing intelligence and lyric abstract showing sensitivity. 'Informal' or 'Action Painting', which has the characteristics such like meditativeness, informal, dynamic vividness and space connected deeply with that of the oriental art, belong to the emotional abstract. On the basis of this fact, this study is to research the Oriental Zen through the works and theory of Mark Tobey who was developing the Oriental Zen into his own particular way, "white writing". At the same time, the works of 'Jackson Pollock' and 'Pierre Soulages' were studied from three conception's viewpoints : the conceptions of time, space, and chance, focusing on Calligraphy, Tache, and Balaye′ due to the spirit of calligraphy and to the dripping according to artist's will in Gesture which is one of the expressions in the abstract art after the 1950s. My canvas is showing my own abstract space based on the emotional abstract and the lyric feeling, adding the geometrical lineal of 'Constructivism I which belong to the geometrical abstract. Consequently, my work gives expression changing the moments of consciousness or unconsciousness into the super natural abstract world by using of the natural matter (wood) in Gesture.
