佛敎 齋儀式과 巫俗 진오귀儀式 춤 比較 硏究

Abstract

불교와 무속에서는 죽은이를 극락 또는 저승에 천도하기 위한 의식이 있는데 불교에서는 이와 같은 의식을 재(齋)라 하며 무속에서는 사후제의로 진오귀 의식을 들 수 있다. 불교 재의식에는 상주권공재, 각배재, 영산재등이 있는데 그 중에서 영산재는 규모가 크고 호화스러우며 모든 재의식 절차를 갖추고 있다. 무속에서는 사후제의로 진도 씻김굿과 서울 진오귀굿을 둘 수 있는데 가장 많이 알려진 것으로 망자의 혼을 위호하고 깨끗이 씻겨 극락왕생하도록 기원하는 것으로 이승과 저승, 생자와 사자와의 교제를 가능케 하는 순 종교적인 의미를 지닌다. 영산재와 씻김굿, 진오귀굿은 영혼 천도의 공통된 목적을 지니고 있다. 따라서 같은 목적을 지니는 불교의 재와 무속의 진오귀에서 나타나는 의식절차와 춤에 대하여 비교하여 볼 수 있다고 생각되어 먼저 재와 진오귀의 의식과 춤에 대하여 그 실상을 살펴보고 비교하였다. 불교에서는 신앙의 대상이나 영혼들을 모셔오는 의식절차를 봉청이라고 하며, 이와 같은 의미로 무의식에서는 청신이라고 한다. 영산재의 시련, 씻김굿의 혼맞이, 초가망석, 진오귀굿의 청배거리가 여기에 포함된다. 신앙이 이루어 지는 곳 이른바 의식도장을 정결하게 하기 위한 의식으로 영산재에서는 신중작법이라고 하며 무의식에서는 진오귀굿의 부정거리와 씻김굿의 제석거리가 상통한다고 볼 수 있다. 또한 영혼의 더렵혀진 몸을 깨끗이 씻긴다는 의미로 영산재에서는 관욕의식이 있다. 이와 같은 의미로 무의식의 씻김굿에서는 이슬털기가 있다. 지옥에 있어서 죄의 경중(輕重)을 정하는 10위의 왕으로 십대왕풀이가 있는데 영산재의 시왕재를 말하며 이와 같은 의미로 진오귀굿의 시왕가망거리와 씻김굿의 왕풀이가 있다. 그리고 모셔진 영혼에게 음식을 대접하는 의식의식절차로 영산재에서는 대령, 시식이라고 하며 이와 유사한 것으로 무의식속에서는 진오귀굿의 상식이 있다. 불교에서는 의식승을 선두로 의식에 참여한 사람들이 돌면서 행하는 영산재의 회향의식이 있는데 이는 진오귀굿의 도령의식과 행위가 비슷함을 나타낸다. 불교에서는 영혼을 돌려 보내는 의식을 봉송이라고 하며 이와 같은 의미로 무의식에서는 송신이라고 한다. 영산재의 봉송, 소대의식을 말하며 씻김굿에서는 종천이라고 하며 진오귀굿에서는 진오귀뒷전이 여기에 포함된다. 불교의 재의식에서는 각종 신앙의 기능을 신비화할 필요에서 많은 진언을 하는데 이는 무속의 공수와 성격이 같다고 할 수 있다. 위에서 보는 바와 같이 불교와 무속이 영혼천도라는 같은 목적에서 의식절차의 명칭은 다르지만 비슷한 점이 많았다. 또한 춤에 있어서는 불교의 작법, 즉 나비춤, 바라춤, 법고춤 등이 추어지는데 이들은 각기 상징적 의미를 내포하고 있어 재의식 사이사이에 추어진다. 진오귀 의식에서 씻김굿의 복개춤은 밥주발 뚜껑을 2개 들고 추는 춤으로 불교의 바라춤과 비슷하며 의상에서도 불교적 색채를 띠고 있으며 그 외에도 황해도 철물이굿에서 제석굿과 조상굿 거리에서 바라춤이 추어지며 동해안 지방의 별신굿에서는 세존굿에 바라춤이 나온다. 또한 평안도 지역에서는 장삼춤, 바라춤, 법고춤이 추어져 불교의 작법과 비슷한 형식으로 춤동작을 주로 구사한 반면에 무속에서는 민중적인 춤을 구사하면서 민중들의 소원성취를 빌어주는 기복신앙 성격을 강하게 드러내는 것으로 보인다. 이에 따라 춤사위의 성격이 다르게 변하여 나타나고 있음을 알 수 있다. 이렇게 유사점과 차이점을 나타내는 원인으로는 불교와 무속이 전해지면서 서로 영향을 주고 받으며 습합된 현상으로 불교와 무속이 그 기저에 공통분모로 깔려 있는 '원본'사고의 미분성이 일차적 원인이고 불교가 민간인들을 대상으로 포교되었기 때문에 자연히 무속적 요소들이 불교 속으로 이식 되어진 것으로 볼 수 있다. 불교와 무속은 서로 교류하면서 상호수수 관계가 이루어져 많은 공통점을 찾아 볼 수 있으며 한편으로는 각기 변용된 모습으로 새로운 조형을 이루고 있는 것이다.;Between Buddhism and Shamanism, there is rite to relieve dead. It is called Jae in Buddhism. In Jae rite, there are Sangjukwonkongjae, Kakbaejae, youngsanjae. The bigest one is youngsanjae which has every procedure. In the same way. It is Saryunyjae in Shamanism and the most famous exorcisms are Ssihgimgud in Jindo and Jinoguigud in Seoul. Jinoguigud in Seoul has religionel meaning to make communication between survival and dead possible through this service for dead. Youngsanjae and Ssihgimgud, Jinoguigud have a same porpose and it is possible to find out similar aspects between these rites. The ritual procedure bringing ded or spirit alony is called Bongchong in Buddhism and chongsin in Shamanism, It include Shiryun and Guebuliwoon in Youngsanjae, recieving spirits and chogamangsuk in Ssiggimhud, Chongbaegery in Oguigud. As a rite to clean ritual place, It is Shinjunyjakbub in Youngsanjae and Bujungyury in Shamanism and Jesukgury in Ssiggimgud. As a meaning to cleas spirit, It is Gwanyoy rite in Youngsanjae and Yeadletulye in Shamanism. Sipdaewang is tenth Kiny in hell who defines sin and it's rite is called Siwanyjae in Youngsunjae and Siwanggamanggury in Jinoguigud and Ssiygimgud in wangpuly. As a rite of sering food to dead spirit, Dearyung, Sysik in Youngsanjae and Sangsik in Jineguidgud hare a same meaning. Whoehyany rite in Youngsanjae is that people follow ritual monk at the hed and Koryung rite in Jinoguihud is similar ceremony a rite of returning spirit to heaven is Bongsong in Buddhism and Songsin in Shamanism. It include Bongsong, Sodae rite in Youngsanjae and chongchon in SSiggimgud, Jinoguiduyjin in Jinoguigud. In Jae rite of Buddhism, there are many incantations to make all kind of religional function mysterious and it is similar with konysu in Shamanism. As above content, despite of many terms of rite procedures and behavior, there are similar aspects on porpose of relieving spirit between Buddhism and Shamanism. In dance, butterfly dance, Bara dance, Budge dance are performed in Buddhism rite and each one has symmbolic meaning Bokgae dance in Ssiggimgud is dance with two dishes which is similar with Bara dance and has Buddhism character in custome. Bara dance is performed in Chulmulygud in Hwanghaedo, Jaesukgud, Josunggud and also in Byulsingud in East cost and in Peongando, Janysamdunce, Bara dance, Buk dance are performed as a similar style of Buddhism. In a irtual dance of Buddhism, dance is performed moderately and seriously because of riliyional strict. Neanwhile in shamanism more popularized dance is performed and has a character of blessing poplar wish. As a above study, It is found that character of dany style has been changed to its own colour. I found that Buddhism and Shamanism has communicated and associated each other and they have thier own frame as varied feature finally.
