이시이 바쿠의 예술세계에 관한 연구

Abstract

The trend of art is the reflection of the spirit of the times and it has been represented and developed continuously in the development process of history. Dance also reflect a new trend of the times and it has been expressed in various style especially, it has been developed since the modern times. The expressionism that was occured in Germany between 1910's and 1920's, was an attempt to express tile world of self without making outward show. It is also meaningful in the light that it became a base for the modern Japanes dance and was a pursuit of the pure dance which insisted on the liberation of body and tried to express the inner world of human being with free action. Beginning from 1910, the trend of Japanes dance was based on New Dance of the traditional Japanese dance (Kabukidance) and dance poetry of the western dance. The New Dance was a feform movement based on the traditional dance but it could not dereloped into the modern dance. In the mean time, Ishii Baku advocated the liberation of body based on the model dance of the west and pursued, the pure dance that expressed the inner world of man with free action and his New dance, that is, dance poetry movement formed the main trend of the modern Japanes movement. So, in the study, the completion process of the dance poetry movement that is significant for the formation of the modern Japanes dance and the artistic world of Ishii Baku(1886-1962) were examined. Ishii Baku, who was a dance and dance director that could realize the keen sense of rythm through action., established anew Japanes dance independent from any other art such as literature, music. etc. Based on the music of the contemporary Yamada Kousaku and the idea of dance of the western dancers such as Emile Jacques Dalcroze, Mary wigman and Isadora Duncan, he established his own world of dance making the action of body and free union of rythm his philosophy of dance and finally, he completed. It as a genre of the modern Japanes dance. Thus, Ishii Baku, who produced remarkable achievements in the history of the Japanese dance, showed a new wery that the modern Japanes dance should take and further he exerted a great influence on the completion of the modern Koeran New dance. Accordingly, by the examination of the world of art of Ishii Baku, who was teacher of Choi, Sung-Hee and Cho, Taek-Won, I would like to take it as base for the study of sonrce of Korean creation dance.;예술사조는 한 시대의 시대정신의 반영이며 역사의 발전 과정속에서 끊임없이 표출·발전되어 오고 있다. 무용에 있어서도 새로운 시대사조를 반영하여 다양한 형태로 표출되어 왔으며 특히 근대이후에 다양하게 전개되어 왔다. 1910년대에서 1920년대 사이에 독일을 중심으로 표현주의가 발생하였는데, 이것은 가식없는 자아의 세계를 표현하려는 시도라고 할 수 있으며 기초 일본 현대무용의 기반이 된 신체의 해방을 주장하고 인간의 내면세계를 자유로운 동작으로 표현하려했던 순수무용의 추구라는 측면에서 커다란 중요성을 갖는다. 일본 무용의 흐름은 1910년을 기점으로하여 일본 무용(日本 舞踊 : 가부키 무용)계 신무용(新舞踊)과 서양 무용계의 무용시 운동(舞踊詩運動)으로 분류되었다고 볼 수 있다. 일본 무용계 신무용은 전통무용을 토대로 한 혁신 운동이었으나, 현대무용으로서는 발전하지 못하였다. 반면에 이시이 바쿠는 서양의 근대무용을 기반으로 신체의 해방을 주장하며 인간 내면 세계를 자유로운 동작으로 표현하려는 순수무용을 추구하는 신무용 즉 무용시 운동을 전개함으로서 일본 현대무용의 한 주류를 형성하게 되었다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 일본 현대무용의 형성에 중대한 의의를 갖는 무용시 운동의 성립과정과 그 창시자인 이시이 바쿠(石井漠:1886∼1962)의 예술세계에 대하여 고찰하였다. 천성적으로 예리한 리듬감각을 동작을 통하여 구현할 수 있었던 무용가이자 안무가였던 이시이 바쿠는 문학·음악 그 어느 것에도 되지 않은 독립된 예술로서의 새로운 일본 무용을 정립하였다. 동 시대 음악가 야마다 고오사쿠(山田耕□)와 서구 무용가들, 즉 에밀 쟉크 달크로즈(Emile Jacques Dalcroze), 마리 뷔그만(Mary Wigmnn) 및 이사도라 던컨(Isadora Duncan) 등의 무용 사상을 토대로 하여 그는 육체의 움직임과 리듬의 자유로운 통합을 무용의 기본철학으로 삼아 독특한 무용세계를 구축하였고 마침내 일본 현대 무용의 한 쟝르로 완성시켰다. 이와 같이 일본 무용사에 뚜렷한 업적을 남긴 이시이 바쿠는 일본 현대무용이 나아갈 하나의 새로운 방향을 제시하였고 나아가 근대 한국의 신무용 성립에까지도 지대한 영향을 끼친 무용가로서 일본 현대무용사에서 간과할 수 없는 중요한 인물로 평가된다. 따라서 최승희·조택원의 스승인 이시이 바쿠의 예술세계를 조사함으로써 한국 창작무용의 근원을 연구하는 토대로 삼고자 한다.
