Abstract

Since 1945, the opportunity enlargement in higher education and the pursuit of quality-oriented higher education have been the fundamental subjects in higher education in Korea. These have been simultaneously required in social and national aspects that the high-educated from higher educational institutions will be the driving-force of the national development, and in personal aspects that higher education will be essential so as to obtain the better life and the upstream in social classes. The purpose of this study is to survey and analyze the management status of educational curriculum of the graduate school of education in Ewha Womans University by collection and analysis of opinions of the 4th term's students, and to get the basis which will reasonably improve the educational curriculum in quality of the graduate school of education. For this purpose, 1 surveyed and analyzed the result of opinions about the educational curriculum, its management status, the process of obtaining a degree, instruction method, and welfare systems, and I made conclusions as follows; (1) For the graduate students of education, the degree of satisfaction on current curriculums is relatively low. Specifically, they require the linkage between each subjects and their papers for degree, and the classes opening of various subjects which they can select. (2) When putting all opinions together about the process of obtaining a degree, assurance in quality of high-graded degree should be accomplished with strict control and examination of papers from the variety of the entrance examination systems to the qualification test of the paper presentation for the specialty of each subjects or fields in comparison with the function of the graduate school of education that rears speciallists in education. (3) Integrity of both professors and students should be on the premise in the instructions or instruction methods. Class operations with flexibility and instruction methods which can give students the qualification and power of study are required in the concerned fields, giving up the black board-oriented instructions. (4) Most complaints and suggestions of the responded are focused on the welfare facilities. Most of students are workers, so they have less time to use facilities. Therefore the prolongation of library operation hours and operation of nighttime library are strongly required. This study has a limit if generalizing the conclusions, because it sampled only one school of education. Therefore, more active research should be performed on the study of curriculum by enlarging its sample population under the linkage of school, society, and nation.;산업구조가 고도화 되고 직업구조가 날로 전문화 되어가는 현대사회에서 전문대학원은 고급인력양성의 수요를 충족시키면서 그들에게 계속 교육기회를 제공하는데 주도적인 역할을 담당하고 있다. 그런 의미에서 교육대학원은 교육전문가 양성기간으로서 고등교육에 대한 사회적 기대와 필요를 충족시킬 수 있어야 한다. 본 연구는 이화여자대학교 교육대학원 교육과정 운영실태를 조사분석하고자 4학기생을 표집대상으로 하여 이에 대한 의견을 조사 분석하여 향후 교육대학원 교육과정의 합리적, 질적 향상을 이룰 수 있는 교육과정 개발 기초자료를 얻는데 목적이 있다. 본 연구를 위한 통계처리는 각 요인별 만족도를 알아보기 위해서 사례주와 백분율로 산출했고 집단간의 차이검증을 위해 χ^(2)와 F-ratio로 검증하였다. 본 연구결과는 다음과 같이 요약될 수 있다. 1. 현행 교육과정 내용 및 운영에 대한 교육대학원생들의 만족도는 다소 낮은 편이다. 학습내용의 폭이 제한되고 선택의 기회도 보장받지 못한 채 중복되는 내용을 이수하게 되는 사례도 있으므로 각 과목과 학위논문과의 연계성, 다양한 교과목 개설 등이 요청된다. 2. 교육대학원의 질적 수월성을 확보하기 위해서는 학위수여요건의 강화가 중요하고 교육전문가 양성이 목표인데 비추어 각 학과나 분야의 특수성을 살릴 수 있는 방향으로 입학시험, 외국어시험, 종합시험, 학위 논문심사를 질적으로 보장할 수 있는 운영 및 관리에 대한 제도적 개선책이 필요하다. 3. 교수방법이나 지도면에 있어서는 교수와 학생의 성실성을 전제로 해야 한다. 강의위주와 거의 칠판뿐인 교수자료이용 수업형태에서 탈피하여 해당분야에 필요한 연구능력과 자질을 부여받을 수 있도록 연구 중심의 교수방법과 학생주체의 융통성 있는 수업운영이 요구된다. 4. 교육시설에 대한 개선이 요구된다. 교육대학원 학생 대다수가 직장인이라 시간적 제약이 크고 오후의 학문 연구시간에 도서관 도서 이용을 할 수 없음에 불만을 표시했으며 아울러 도서관 이용시간 연장, 야간 도서관 운영, 매점 설치 등의 제안을 제시했다.
