현대인의 내적 억압에 관한 표현연구

Abstract

산업혁명은 인류 역사에 물질적인 측면과 정신적인 측면에 많은 변화를 가져온 가장 큰 전환점이라고 할 수 있다. 산업혁명 이후, 인류는 이성과 과학에 기초한 합리적인 가치관을 갖게 되었고 그러한 이성과 과학의 진보가 가져다준 물질적인 풍요와 생활의 편리함은 체계적이고 조직적인 구성력을 통해 문화전반에 걸친 획기적인 변화를 가져다 주었다. 이와같은 산업사회의 긍정적인 측면에는 인간성의 상실이라든지, 소외 등과 같은 정신적인 갈등의 요소를 내포하기 시작했고 현대에 들어서면서 이러한 갈등은 사회문제로 더욱 심화되었다. 본 연구에서는 현대사회에서 느낄 수 있는 이러한 심리적인 문제를 인간적인 형상을 통해 표현하고자하는 의도에서 시작하였다. 개인의 인격적 가치와는 상관없이 제도나 사회구조의 기능성이나 합리성 등을 지나치게 강조하다보니 도리어 제도나 구조가 인간의 정신적 육체적인 활동을 억제, 제한하게되고 이러한 상황이 주는 부자유함과 관계의 단절감을 본 연구에서는 묵시적인 인간의 나약한 모습을 통해서 표현해보고자 한다. 본 연구의 목적은 현대사회와 인간과의 관계에서 인간이 갖게되는 내적 억압과 그것으로 파생된 인간 삶의 심리적이고 심층적인 부분을 인간의 형상을 통해 표현하는데 목적이 있다. 표현 내용으로 Ⅱ장의 이론적 배경에서 현대물질사회에서 인간이 격게되는 위기의식에 관해 살펴보았고, 이와 관련된 주제로 표현된 작품들을 찾아보았다. Ⅲ장의 작품 전개과정에서 현대사회와 인간관계의 문제를 인간의 형상으로 표현되는 과정과 작품들의 성격에 관해 기술하였다. V장의 작품분석에서는 제시된 7점의 작품들을 대상으로 표현내용과 방법에 근거하여 분석하였다. 인간의 심리에 관한 문제를 다루기 위하여 인간형상을 은유적으로 표현하였는데, 이렇게 제작된 작품 7점에서 나타난 결과는 인간은 자연 그 자체가 아니라, 현대인의 모든 복잡한 생활 체험이나 상상력의 구조를 유추할 수 있는 하나의 매체역할을 하며, 이러한 인간형상을 통해 최대한의 감정이입을 불러 일으켜서 인간 삶의 내적 경험을 극적으로 전달할 수 있었다. 또한 형태의 단순화와 왜곡을 통해서 인간이 지닌 복잡하고 복합적인 감정표출로서 비극적인 감정을 강조하였고, 위기적 현실상황에 대한 인간의 내적 갈등을 표출하였다. 작품에서 표현된 인간형상은 시대상황을 비판적 입장에서 바라보아 현대사회의 인간성 상실의 위기를 경고하였고, 나아가 이러한 역설적인 비판을 통해 인간 삶을 보다 긍정적으로 이끌기 위한 극복의 수단으로서 표현 동기로 삼았다. 우리가 살고 있는 현대사회는 그 구조가 너무나도 복잡해서 개개인이 이 속에 잘 적응하거나, 극복하려는 노력 없이는 사회적 억압이 주는 소외, 불안과 같은 정신적 위기감은 인간사회의 균형을 깨뜨릴 것이다. 본 연구를 통해 이러한 내용을 작품으로 체험함으로써 시대상황에 따른 억눌린 인간성을 회복하고 정신적 자유에 이를 수 있는 가능성을 기대할 수 있었으며 인간이 처한 위기적 사회현실을 예술을 통해 극복할 수 있는 모색의 하나로 그 가능성을 엿보게 하였다.;The Industrial Revolution was one of the greatest turning point of human history. This brought a lot of changes in materialistic and spiritual aspects. Since the Industrial Revolution, reasonable values in the whole lives have been formed on the basis of reason and science. Industrialization indeed gave us wealth and convenience in our lives, but it also included the factors of conflicts in spiritual aspects. These conflicts became worse in modern society, and the social pressure which human beings get came to be everybody's stress. In this study, I expressed the psychological state appeared in the course of social pressure through human figures. The purpose of this study is to find the possibility of expression by symbolizing or shaping social pressure and human life through human figures. To examine the contents of expression, Ⅰ studied periodical characteristics in modern times, and some works which express the inside of modern people in Chapter Ⅱ Also, I described the process of expressing the relationship between modern society and human beings into human figures, and the characters of the works in Chapter Ⅲ. In Chapter Ⅴ, I analyzed 7works on the basis of expression contents and methods. Regarding the approach to human being's psychological problems, I expressed them not as the reproduction of human body, but as metaphorical human figures because of the various possibilities of human figures. The result of analyzing these 7 works are as follows. The pressure of external reality appeared, responding to inside, and combination with other materials was also expressed. All the human figures expressed here are reflecting each different situation. Human beings are subject to a lot of stress in modern society. To improve the quality of life, to survive and succeed..... This modern society has such a complicated structure that the balance of human society will be broken unless each individual tries hard to overcome and adjust him/herself. Human beings come to have the emotion of rage and depress under the different kinds of pressures which the society gives, and art is one of ways that can solve these negative feelings. This reminds me of the importance of social roles of art that makes people have sympathy by expressing directly or watching the expressed ones.
