韓國 傳統刺繡屛風에 관한 硏究

Abstract

19세기 이후 섬유예술의 표현양식 및 재료는 다양하게 전개되어오고 있으며 이러한 양상에서 작가들은 저 마다의 다른 조형이념을 지니고 자신만의 독특한 표현을 해야 한다는 의식을 갖게 되었다. 이에 자수 역시 현대 섬유예술 양식의 변천과 그 과정을 같이 함으로서 표현영역이 무한하게 확대되고 있으며 섬유예술의 한 분야로서 위치를 굳혀가고 있다. 그러나 모든 예술이 그러하듯이 과거가 있고 현재와 미래가 약속될 수 있기에 옛 부터 전승되어 온 전통예술을 이해 한 후에 예술가 자신의 잠재된 미 의식이나 구체적 사물을 통해 얻은 심상을 조형화 시킬 수 있는 것이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 우리나라 자수문화에서 큰 비중을 차지하고 있는 자수병풍에서 우리 민족의 예술적 미 의식의 맥락을 기복적 사상, 자연주의적 사상, 유교적 사상으로 분류하여 문헌을 통해 고찰해 보고 현대에 그 표현영역의 확대 가능성을 진단해 보고자 한다. 작품제작에 있어서는 위의 세가지로 분류된 미 의식중에 자연주의적 미 의식에서 나타나는 자연에 대한 직관과 탐구를 바탕으로 하여 자연의 서정적 풍경을 관찰하여 얻은 원리 뿐만 아니라 감각적 인상, 심상들을 감정이입하여 2폭, 6폭등의 병풍의 형식을 빌어 자수로 표현하고자 하였다. 이러한 작품제작 과정을 통해서 시대의 흐름과 변화에 따라 보고, 듣고 생각하는 것이 달라진다 해도 한국이라는 공간적 배경에서 태어나고 자라난 이상 그 근본적인 뿌리는 변화할 수 없으므로 우리의 현대 섬유예술은 우리 민족의 경험과 정신에 바탕을 둔 심리적 기억에 그 뿌리를 둔 표현이어야 할 것이며, 자수는 작가 자신의 내면세계와 독창성의 표출로서 형성되는 의도적 행위이므로 작품 재료의 특성 파악, 새로운 표현양식 연구, 개성적 기법의 개발등이 절실히 요구됨을 깊이 인식 하였다.;Traditionally edroidered folding screen of Korea is one of unique Pattern expressing fiber art in Korea. It is with living environment and historical experience. Our distinctive racial consciousness on beauty and emotion is expressed at the back of it, which reflects on the traits of the times. Therefore the guiding purpose of this thesis is to observe the distinctive consciousness classifying it as three thoughts of fortune-invoking, naturalism and Confucianism, and to present possibility of extending its expressional range to the modern times. With it, this thesis also attemped modern interpretation, and unique as well as individual expression, following spiritual conception of our racial naturalism that learned nature and accommodated its rule with thought existed in the folding screen. The thought is that nature and man is one body and man's real side is in unifying with nature. In making it, lyric landscape image of nature's was expressed by inserting the maker's inner feeling into it. Subject to prior embroidering work, the method of dyeing ground side and twisting or plaiting silk thread in view of inviting variation of various was used.
