빛에 의한 색채 변화 연구

Abstract

The effects of light as symbolic meaning and light expressed on paintings are investigated in this paper. The phenomenon and the nature of things, and thought of human beings are expressed in a work of art. Pursuing a motive from the ambience like tree branches in bloom, a landscape, historical affairs, individual memories, and the model or theme of our life, which are always transformed into the imagination of painter, the images are extended into artistic power of life. As the result, a daily actuality is to have the meaning of creative form. While the light felt in our daily experiences has an important meaning as an index for the expression of space, the light itself is not felt to us as a visual phenomenon, furthermore as an attribute mixed with the world of images. Consequently we do not recognize even the fact that there is full of light. A light makes it possible to express the power of life as what it is, and revive a scene of the past season and time vividly. When the image of reality approach to us with a new analysis and an assignment, the reality itself is sublimated into the art which is symbolizing emotions and power of life. The role of the light which is one of the important formative elements for the expression in paintings arroused my interest, accordingly an attempt is made to broaden the region of my own paintings by investigating the effects of symbolic light as the meaning of soul and light expressed on paintings, a relative brightness, the expression of directivity and feelings of depth with space, the light used as an element of structure, the expression of light through subtle variations and pure colors, with theories and some works. My visual experiences for the light called my attention for the phenomenon of things which was out of our concern because it is always in contact with our life, in the form of a new self -consciousness to external phenomenon that is extremely objective to us. It leaded me to find out the fact that there exists another possible world for the expression.;모름지기, 예술작품은 사물의 현상이나 본성, 그리고 사상을 표현한다. 꽃핀 나무가지, 하나의 풍경, 역사적인 사건이나, 개인적인 추억, 삶의 모델이나 主題 등과 같은 현장감으로부터 하나의 모티브를 추구한다면, 그것은 언제나 상상력 속에서 변형되며, 그 이미지는 예술적 생명력으로 뻗어나간다. 그 결과, 일상적인 현실은 創造的인 形式의 의미를 잉태하게 된다. 일상 경험에서 느끼는 빛은 공간을 표현하는 지표로서 중요한 의미를 지니나, 그 빛자체는 우리에게 시각현상으로서 느낄수 없으며, 사물의 세계와 혼합된 속성으로 의식되지도 않는다. 그리하여 우리는 빛이 그곳에 충만하다는 사실조차 느끼지 못하고 있다. 빛이란 생명력을 있는 그대로 표현하며, 흘러간 시간과 계절의 한 장면을 생생하게 소생시켜 주기도 한다. 19세기초, 인상주의 화가들은 색채에 의미를 부여하여 태양광선의 분해에서 파생되는 색채를 원색으로 삼아 그 색채를 혼합하지 않고, 화면에 직접 표현하여 시각적인 면에 역점을 두어 자기표현의 藝術世界를 보여주었다. 이처럼 현실의 이미지가 우리에게 새로운 해석과 과제로 다가올때 현실자체는 감정과 생명력을 상징하는 예술성으로 승화한다. 이러한 빛에 대한 본인의 시각경험은 지극히 객관적인 외적현상에 대한 새로운 自覺으로서 우리가 항상 접하기 때문에 관심의 영역에서 벗어나 있었던 사물의 현상들에 대한 관심을 환기시키고, 또 하나의 표현의 "可能世界"가 존재한다는 것을 발견하게 되었다. 회화에서 표현하는 중요한 조형요소로서 부각되는 빛의 역할은 본인에게 큰 관심을 끌게하였고, 따라서 이 논문을 통해서 "영혼의 의미"로서의 상징적인 빛과 회화상에 나타난 빛의 효과 -상대적인 밝기, 공간의 심도감과 방향성의 표현, 구성의 한 요소로서 사용된 빛, 섬세한 변화와 순수한 색채를 통한 빛의 표현- 등을 이론과 몇개의 작품을 통하여, 규명함으로써, 자신의 회화 영역을 넓혀 보려고 하였다.
