중·고생의 작문에 나타난 문장상의 오류 실태 분석

Abstract

People have felt more interested in composition these days. But up to the present, the composition classes in schools are apt to neglect the effectiveness, This phenomenon is notable especially in basic writing skills. But the basic skills are more important than the contents of composition and structure. It is time to urge to set up a step by step and continuous educational method in writing. Through analyzing students' fallacies in writing, this paper studies the frequent fallacy especially in sentences in order to draw up a plan to extend composition skill. On the basis of students' fallacy pattern, this paper will make it clear how the fallacy pattern has changed according to students' school-year. The first chapter shows this paper's purpose, range, method and limitation. The second chapter investigates the existing theories to make the standards to analyze the students' fallacy in writing. On the basis of them, the author of this paper makes 6 standards which are fit for this paper. Namely, omit of sentence constituents, repetition of sentence constituents, unadequate arrangement of sentence constituents, discord between sentence constituents, improper parallel structure, and misuse of postpositional word. The third chapter examines the typical fallacies in the sentences on the basis of 6 standards and standards subdivided by 6 standards with examples. The fourth chapter investigates students' frequent fallacies through each standard. The author of this paper has studied how typical fallacies in the sentences have changed according to students' school-year. Students have made more fallacies especially in 'discord between sentence constituents,' 'misuse of postpositional word,' and 'omit of sentence constituents' according to the survey through each standard. Apart from our general expectations, there is no difference between the middle and high school students' basic writing ability statistically. The fifth chapter summarizes the contents of this study. And I suggest strengthening composition education through the writing activities related to the grammar and the actual writing practice. This study is meaningful in analyzing the student' typical fallacies in writing and in making it clear what is important in composition education.;최근 들어 작문에 대한 사회 일반의 관심이 더욱 고조되고는 있지만, 아직까지도 학교 현장에서는 작문 기능의 신장을 위한 교육 활동이 소홀히 다루어지고 있으며, 이러한 현상은 작문의 기본 기능과 관련하여 더욱 두드러지게 나타난다. 그러나 작문의 기본 기능은 작문의 내용 요소나 전체적인 구조 못지 않게 중요하므로, 이러한 기본 기능의 신장을 위한 계속적·단계적인 지도 방안의 마련이 시급한 실정에 있다. 이에 본고에서는 작문 기능 신장의 방안 마련을 위해서 학생들의 작문에 나타날 문장상의 오류를 몇 가지 준거에 의해 분석·고찰하여 학생들이 자주 범하는 문장상의 오류 실태를 살펴보고자 하였다. 그리고 이러한 오류 실태를 근거로 하여 오류의 유형이 중·고등학교의 학교 급별에 따라서는 어떻게 달라지는지를 밝혀 보고자 하였다. Ⅰ장 서론에서는 연구의 목적과 범위 및 방법, 그리고 연구의 제한점에 대해 살펴 보았다. Ⅱ장에서는 학생들의 작문에 나타난 오류를 분석하는 데에 요구되는 준거를 설정하기 위하여, 기존 논의를 검토해 보고 그를 바탕으로 하여 본고의 범위에 부합하는 오류 준거로서 ①문장 성분의 누락 ②문장 성분의 중복 ③성분의 부적절한 배열 ④성분 간의 불호응 ⑤잘 못된 병치 구조 ⑥조사 오용 등의 여섯 가지를 채택하였다. Ⅲ장에서는 중·고생의 작문에 나타난 문장상의 오류를 여섯 가지의 준거에 따라 나누고 이를 다시 오류의 요인별로 세분하여 분석·고찰해 봄으로써, 학생들이 자주 범하는 문장상의 오류 실태를 유형화하여 그 예문과 함께 살펴 보았다. Ⅳ장에서는 앞서 살펴본 중·고등학생의 오류 실태를 근거로 하여 학생들의 글에 빈번히 나타난 문장상의 오류를 준거별로 살펴보고, 그러한 문장상의 오류 유형이 각 학교 급별에 따라서는 어떻게 달라지는가를 고찰해 보았다. 먼저 준거별로 살펴본 바에 의하면, 학생들은 작문에서 '성분 간의 불호응'이나 '조사의 오용', '문장 성분의 누락' 등의 문제에서 가장 높은 오류율을 보인 것으로 나타났다. 또한 학교 급별로 보면 일반적인 예상과 달리 중학생과 고등학생의 작문 기능 사이에 통계적으로 별다른 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. Ⅴ장에서는 연구 내용을 요약·정리하고, 아울러 문법 교육과 연계한 작문 지도 및 실제 문장 쓰기를 통한 작문 지도의 강화를 제안하였다. 본 연구는 학생들이 자주 범하는 작문상의 오류 실태 분석 및 비교를 통해 작문 지도에서 특히 강조해야할 점을 밝히는 데 그 의의가 있다.
