墨을 통한 現代的 表現方法 硏究

Abstract

水墨畵가 국제적인 繪畵로 발돋움하기 위해서는 세계적으로 공감을 얻을 수 있는 독자적인 美意識의 성립이 필요하다. 그러므로 水墨畵 제작에 임하는데 그 자체의 근본 정신을 이해하는 것이 우선 되어져야 한다. 현대에 이르러 전통 繪畵와의 현대적 변형의 가능성이 충분히 검토되고 계승 발전하리라는 기대가 일어나고 있는데 이는 水墨 정신이 대상을 분석하는 것이 아닌 대상에 자신이 몰입하면서 우주적인 질서를 재현하려는 특성이 있기 때문이다. 본 연구에서는 墨이 지니는 美意識을 고찰해 보고, 이러한 傾向을 표현하는데 나타나는 고유한 墨의 고전적 특성도 함께 살펴보았다. '자연으로 하여금 스스로 모습을 드러내고 스스로 생성케 한다'라는 관조의 세계를 현대가 요구하고 있는 상황이라는 전제하에, 墨畵가 지니는 해학성과 中庸의 정신이 세계적인 도약의 가능성임을 확인하고, 현재 우리나라에서 활발히 진행 중인 새로운 기법의 성향을 함께 다룸으로서 실질적인 검토에 들어가 보았다. '예술 작품이란 진리로의 자기 정립'이고, 이러한 '立義'가 있을 때 그 형상은 자유롭게 표현되어진다. 이에 본인은 墨이 지니는 조형적 가치와 筆墨에 의한 線璪의 構成으로서 화면을 다채롭게 구사하려고 시도하였으며, 그림에 나타나는 空間 構造를 적절하게 배치하는데 있어서 현대적 미감에 맞도록 반복, 실험하였다. 작품을 제작하는 과정에서 靜에서 動으로, 發墨에서 波墨으로의 傾向을 나타내었으며 계획적인 방법에서 즉흥적인 방법으로, 그리고 엄숙하고 단아한 분위기에서 진솔함과 즐거움을 주는 해학적인 분위기로 이끌어 나가게 되었다. 작품 계획과 그 실천에 있어서 많은 시행착오가 있었으나, 동양화의 중심적 매제인 水墨이 지니는 표현의 가능성과 수묵에 내재한 동양적인 정신세계의 현대적 수용에 대한 탐색을 연구한다는 차원에서 본 논문은 그 의의를 찾을 수 있을 것이다.;It is necessary to establish a unique sense of aesthetics which can be sympathized world-wide if we want our ink paintings to be positioned as global artworks. In this regard, an understanding of the fundamental spirit of ink paintings should precede their actual productions. In our modem age, it is expected that the possibility of transformin the traditional paintings into their modem versions could be explored and thus that the modem versions could be developed enough to be succeeded. For genuine ink paintings are produced not by analyzing the objects but ty being empathized into them to reproduce a universal order. With such basic conceptions in mind, this study was aimed at reviewing the aesthetic senses inherent in ink paintings as well as their unique classic characteristics harbored in those senses. First, the assumption that "the nature should be allowed to reveal itself and be cycled spontaneously" was conceived, as a world of contemplation is required in our modem age. Then, the humor and "Spirit of Means" of ink paintings were confirmed as a stepping-stone for a historic development of art World-wide. Last, the new trends or techniques which are actively pursued in Korea were re-illuminated in this context. Any artwork must be a result of "self-realization towards a truth". Only based on such an assumption, an object will be able to be freely expressed. In the same vein, the researcher attempted to create a colorful canvas by referring to the formative values of ink paintings as well as their linar but structural brush strokes. In additiin, the spacial arrangement was repeatedly experimented to have a proper deployment of the space suitable to our modem aesthetics. In the actual production of the artwork, the progressions from "static" to "dynamic", and from brush stroke to its finish were conceived, while some impromptu, honest and humorous senses rather than schematic, stem and neat atmosphere were created. Lastly, although various trials and errors were experienced during this study, its significance may lie in that the expressive possibility of the major medium of ink painting or ink as well as the possibility of accommodating the Oriental mental world inherent in ink paintings into a modem sense were explored.
