지양적인 삶의 표출을 위한 공간연구

Abstract

어떠한 예술도 절대적 가치를 가질 수 없으며 절대불변하는 것이 아니라 끊임없이 변화하는 것이다. 분명한 것은 예술은 복합구조로서 다양한 요소들로 구성되어 실재라든가 어떤 존재, 의미를 구체적인 작업으로 현실화한 양태라는 것이다. 이것이 곧 예술의 존재방식이라 할 수 있다. 인간적인 창조 결과로서의 예술은 개인의 특유한 인간성과 밀접히 관련되어 있으며 그의 정신, 감정, 감각, 상상력과 통찰력 등 그의 주관의 외화(外化)이다. 시대적 상황의 반영이나 지극히 개인적인 내면세계의 표현이라 할지라도 결국 모든 예술은 작가의 삶 속에서의 경험을 통한 인식의 표출이다. 예술 행위는 곧 인간탐구의 행위와 직결되는 것이기 때문에 시대를 불문하고 모든 인간에게 필연적으로 주어진 '삶'이 모든 예술작품 속에 소리없이 스며들어 있다. 본인은 이렇게 모든 인간들의 공통분모로서의 포괄적인 삶뿐만 아니라 남과 같을 수 없는 자신만의 삶의 희로애락의 과정을 긍정적이면서도 적극적인 지양(Aufheben)의 과정으로 보고, 그를 나의 예술의 대상으로 삼는다. 따라서 작업과정과 작품을 통해 인간의 진정한 실존의미와 진실된 가치 추구에 대해 제시하는 것이 본인의 목적이다. 본 논문은 대학원 과정에서의 작품을 중심으로 크게 내용적 측면과 방법적 측면의 연구로 나누어져 있다. 내용적 연구에서는 고난과 역경을 통한 인내와 성숙으로서의 발전적인 삶과, 자신을 부정하고 낮아지려는 겸허함을 통해 자신의 실체를 발견해 나가는 삶의 과정을 헤겔의 변증법(辨證法)적 과정과 결부시켜 연구한다. 다음으로 작품에 내재된 공간의 의미를 상의 과정 속에서의 고난이라는 경험의 표징(表徵)과 회화의 한계에 대한 새로운 극복으로서의 공간으로 나누어 설명하고, 또한 행위가 단순한 표출의 수단으로서가 아니라 독립적인 과정으로서의 실체적 의미를 담고 있음을 설명한다. 방법적 연구에서는 고난의 상징적 의미와 역동적인 삶의 함축, 내면적 승화를 의미하는 구체적인 방법들이 어떻게 공간의 형성으로 표현되고 있는 지와, 정반합(正反合)의 논리전개가 내재된 방식에 대해 연구한다.;No art can have absolute value. It is not unchangeable but change endlessly. It is certain that art has complex structure, that it is composed of different elements and that it is the phase which realizes reality, certain existence or meanings into concrete works. It can be said that this is the way of existence of art. Art, the result of human creation, is closely related to the peculiar humanity of the individual. So it comes to be revealed as the exposure of his subjectivity like his spirit, emotion, sense, imagination and insight. Art is the reflection of the situation of the age or the expression of the extremely individual inner world. But all art, finally, can be said to be representation of the perception through the experience of the artists' life. Because the activity of art is directly related to the action of investigation man, for all ages tlie 'life' that is necessarily given to man is soundlessly infiltrated in all the artistic works. I'd like to represent ,not only the conclusive life as all men's sameness but also their process of joy, anger, sorrow and pleasure that cannot be the same to others as the concept of affirmative and positive sublation. And I want to show the true meaning of human existence and the sincere pursuit of value through such working processes and works. This thesis can be divided into two parts, the part of contents and the part of method which are mostly the work of my graduate school days. In the parts of contents, I studied , connected with Hegelian dialectical processes, both the developing life as endurance and maturity through affliction and adversity and the process of life that discover his own reality through the modesty which denies and wants to lower self. Next I divided and explained the meaning of the space that is in the works into empirical symbol, that is, affliction in the process of life and the space as the new overcomming of the limits of painting. And I explained that action involves not the only means of representation but realistic meanings as independent processes. In the part of method, I studied how the concrete methods, which mean the symbolic meanings of affliction, implication of the dynamic life and inner sublimation, consist of space. I showed that the logical development of thesis, antithesis and synthesis is immanent in the side of method.
