도자조형 연구

Abstract

미술이란 선, 면, 조형체 등 시각적 매체를 통해서 작가의 감정을 조화된 통일체로 구형(具形)하는 것이다. 선은 표현을 위한 수단으로서 최소한의 노력으로 풍부한 정서와 분위기를 나타낼 수 있는 최대한의 의미를 지니고 있다. 원시인들에 의해 동굴의 벽에 숯으로 그림이 그려진 이래로 선은 미술가들에게 있어 하나의 기본적인 수단이 되어 왔다. 도자 조형에서의 곡선의 표현은 문양으로 표현되는 곡선과 형태로 표현되는 곡선적 표현으로 나누어볼 수 있는데, 본 연구의 목적은 문양으로 표현되는 곡선과 곡선적 요소를 강조한 형태를 통하여 나타날 수 있는 시각효과를 조형적으로 표현하는데 목적이 있다. 본 연구의 내용은 이론적 배경으로써 선의 일반적 개념과 곡선의 개념에 대해 알아보았고 도자조형에서의 곡선문양과 곡선적 요소를 강조한 형태를 주제로한 작품들을 국내외의 현대작가들의 도자 조형작품 사례들을 고찰하여 작품제작에 참고로 삼았다. 작품제작 방법에 있어서는 각 작품의 특징에 맞추어 석고틀을 이용한 이장주입성형, 판성형, 물레성형, 압축성형, Coiling의 다양한 제작방법으로 다양한 효과를 시도하였다. 태토는 이장주입성형에 백색도가 높은 밀양자기토와 물레성형에는 청자토를 사용하였고, 압축성형, 판 성형, 코일링 기법에는 조합토를 사용하였다. 유약의 시유는 붓으로 칠하거나 담금법, 분무법 등 다양한 기법을 사용하였고, 유약은 초록유, 녹색유, 베이지유, 보라유, 청동유 등의 고화도 유약과 부분적으로 베이지색, 옥색, 진녹색의 화장토를 붓으로 칠하였다. 소성은 석유를 연료로 하는 0.7m^(3) 가마에서 마침온도 900℃로 1차 소성한 뒤 마침온도 1240℃의 마침 온도로 환원소성 하였다. 곡선표현을 중심으로한 도자 조형연구에 있어서 곡선이라는 조형적 요소를 통해 다양한 표현 욕구가 실현될 수 있고, 곡선 문양이 표면에 그려질 경우, 입체의 형태가 단순할 수록 그 효과는 더욱 크고, 입체에 부착되는 곡선일 경우 그 선의 면과 폭이 좁을 경우 입체와 대비되어 쉽게 곡선으로 인식됨과 동시에 곡선이 강조될 수 있는 조형효과를 얻었다.;Art is a harmonious unification of artist's emotion which formed by visual medium such as lines and surfaces etc. Line as a form of expression, possesses maximum implication of feeling and atmosphere with the effort of the artist. Lines, one of the basic form of expression, have been the simplest element for formative arts. In Ceramic Art, often times linear effect is shown on the surfaces or the surfaces itself shows the linear effect. In Ceramic Art, curved lines are expressed on the surfaces or by a thin side of the surfaces itself. The purpose of this study is based on the linear effect by the curved lines as the emphasis of the each works. As a theoretical background, a research on general definition of lines, and curved lines are reviewed. In this thesis, classification of presentation method is divided into two catagories; a focus on curved lines appeared on the surfaces of the works or curved surfaces to show the linear effect and the pieces of modern ceramic artist were referenced. This study of a series of ceramic works with the theme on the emphasis of the curved lines the focus is upon the visual apparatus rather than the meaning. Slip casting, pressing technique, coiling, wheel throwing and hand building methods have been employed on ceramic clay of Mil-yang, celadon clay, and combination clay. All works were first fired to 900 degrees by centigrade in a gasoline kiln. Following appropriate glazing, they were fired again to 1240 degrees in a gasoline kiln. In conclusion, the ceramic ware of this study are intended to express linear effect with the emphasis of curved lines. In order to overcome the acquisition of various formative devices and the mistery of subsequent technical problems through numerous experiments and researches were necessary. Through this, a realization of which that ceramic art is not only formed by the hands of the person, but it is finished by the firing which is uncontrollable by the manpower.
