내면세계를 형상화한 tapestry연구

Abstract

오늘날 현대 미술분야 전반에서는 쟝르 구별이 점차 희미해지고 있으며, 어떠한 규제에도 얽매이지 않으려는 경향이 나타나고 있다. 또한, 공예 분야에서의 순수예술 지향적인 움직임도 근본적으로는 고도의 기술적 발달로 인한 새로운 재료의 개발과 작가의 의도 그리고 창의력에 의한 자연발생적 현상이며, 더 나아가 섬유예술도 전통적인 공예의 합목적적 형식위에 작가의 미적 형식이 더해져 이루어지는 예술의 형태로서 현대미술의 주류와 그 맥락을 나란히 하고 있으며, 그 예술적 다양성을 함께 하고 있다. 예술은 사회와 인간을 분리할 수 없듯이 현실을 떠나서는 존재할 수 없다. 즉, 예술은 사물의 현상을 표현하는 것이 아니라 그 현상속의 숨겨진 의미를 표현하는 것이고 이에 따른 예술가의 창작활동은 인간의 사회현실이라는 외부세계를 예술가 자신의 직접, 간접적 경험에 의해 의식속에서 승화(昇華)시켜 그 내면세계(內面世界)를 주관적 조형 원리로 표현하는 것이다. 현대사회는 고도의 산업화 경향과 조직의 거대화, 집단관계의 지나친 분화로 인하여 우리 고유의 인성(Personality)을 잃어가고 있음과 더불어 인간성 상실(喪失)에 따른 사회 구성원들의 소외(疎外)의식이 심각한 사회 문제로 제기되고 있다. 이러한 문제는 철학과 문학에서 뿐만 아니라 예술에서도 주요한 주제로 다루어져 여러 예술가들에 의해 다각도로 표현되고 있다. 특히 섬유예술 분야에서의 주제에 대한 표현은 재료, 기법 그리고 양식면에서 다양하고 독특한 방법이 이용되고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 이카트(IKat) 와 스크린 프린팅(Screen Printing) 기법에 의한 타피스트리(Tapestry) 작품 제작에 있어서, 점차로 개인주의화 되어가는 사회현실과 그 속에서 인간성 상실로 인해 소외되어 가고 있는 인간, 즉 우리 자신들을 도시의 빌딩들과 사라져가는 기와집의 형상을 통해 상징적 이미지로 표현하였다. 이카트 기법으로 표현한 거대하고 수직 상승적 이미지의 도시 빌딩들과 스크린 프린팅 기법으로 표현한 기와집의 형상을 한 화면에 병치시킴으로써 '내면세계의 소외' 분위기로의 시각적 접근을 시도하여 공감대를 형성, 전달하고자 하였다. 이러한 시도를 위해 이카트에 대한 일반적인 고찰과 프린팅에 대한 타피스트리 작품 제작면에서의 적용성 여부를 연구하였다. 또한 본 연구의 주제에 대한 개념적 분석과 그 상징적 매개체인 빌딩과 기와집을 통한 이미지의 형상화에 대해 고찰하였다. 실제 작품제작에 있어서는, 이카트 기법 중에서 염료와 호료를 섞은 색호를 이용하여, 붓으로 그림을 그리듯이 염색하는 묘염에 의한 이카트 기법과 세밀하고 사실적인 표현을 위해 사진을 이용한 스크린 프린팅 기법을 이용하였다. 직조 방법은 경사가 지배적으로 보이게 하기 위하여 나이랑직(Warp Fess Wesve)과 변화 능직으로 제작하였다. 결론적으로 본 연구에서는 현대사회의 인간성 상실과 소외 분위기를 묘염 이카트와 스크린 프린팅 기법을 통해 표현함으로서 향후 나아가야 할 사회적 방향을 암시적으로 제시하였고, 경사와 위사의 교차에서 오는 제직의 변화와 함께 이카트와 스크린 프린팅 기법이 조화를 이루어 새로운 조형적 표현효과를 나타냄으로서 타피스트리 분야의 새로운 표현방법에 조금이나마 기여 하고자 하였다.;In these days, there is a certain tendency of anti-persistency of any regulations and a vagueness of difference of genre in all part of the modern art. Also a movement of the craft part toward Fine Art must be accepted by natural phenomenon from creative and formative emotion of artist and forethemore Fiber Art also should be considered of meaning of creative activity, which is beyond technology and accompanied by Fine Art. As a human being can not be parted away from the society, Art also can not exist without social reality. Arts usually express the meaning of that social phenomnon, not expressing only the scene of some kind of objects, and creative activities of artist followed by this situation always express the Inside of human being by conscious sublimation of Outside, so called social phenominons, which is experienced directly and indirectly by artist himself. In the modem society, owing to high industrial development, globalization of organization and extreme divergence of relationship, there are some problems of the lost of each person's original personality and are brought to some serious social problems of Isolation. This kind of problems tend to be expressed of principal subjects in many ways in the part of not only philosophy and literature but also art. Espacially, Fiber artists usually utilize special techniques in the aspect of materials, technologies and format to express this kind of subjects. In this study, I made several tapestry works with ikat and screen printing technique and intend to express individualismic social reality and human beings who lost thier original personalities through the symbolic image of buildings in the city and disappearing tile-roofed houses. The purpose of this study is to make and transfer the synesthesia with attempt to visual approach toward the condition of "Inside Isolation" by means of overlapping two figures into a single screen, one is the figure of city buildings which are big, vertical and upward images presented by ikat technique and the other is the figure of tile-roofed houses worked by screen printing technique. For this kind of attempt, I had made general researches of ikat techniques and studied the application of printing technology into the tapestry works. And I had inquired the conceptional analysis of main thema of this study and the configuration of image through the symbolic mediates such as buildings and tile-roofed houses. In my actual works, I used paint-dyed ikat and screen printing techniques. The later technique is able to represent details and realities by using of photography. The method of weaving that I used is mainly warp face weave which can show warp yams dominantly. In this study, as a result, I want to suggest indirectly the future direction of our society by representing the Lost of Personality and Isolation in the modem society with paint-dyed ikat and screen printing technique and intend to make a contribution to the new tapestry technology by means of new modelling effects which harmonized between ikat and screen printing and created the weaving changes that comes from intercross warp and weft yams.
