인간정신의 표상으로서의 기호체계

Abstract

"예술 작품은 비(非)현실적인 것이다."라고 쟝 폴 사르트르(Jean Paul SARTRE)는 말한 바 있다. 그 비현실적인 것이 우리를 황홀하게 한다. 미술은 정신이 마티에르 속으로 깊숙이 들어가게 하고, 정신적 이미지는 그어진 형상을 단순화하여, 지각 위로 형상을 옮길 것이다. 이미지를 창조하는 것은 예술가와 감상자 역할도 포함된다. '나는 매 순간 이미지를 창조하고 있다.'는 생각을 갖고 있다. 나는 인간의 정신적 측면을 감상하는 감상자 입장에 서서 사람들을 관찰한다. 사물과 예술가의 관계와 작품과 작품을 감상하는 감상자의 관계는 동일한 형태의 창조 상황은 아니지만, 같은 창조 상황을 가지고 있다. 본인은 이러한 생각을 동의하며, 이 상황을 바탕으로 다음과 같은 작업방법의 성격을 분석하겠다. 우리는 대중매체 세계 속에서 살고 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 의사 소통하기가 어렵다는 생각이 든다. 사회 교류의 확장으로 애기치 못하였던 개인적 고립이 생겨나고 있다. 하지만 예술은 개인의 고유한 것이 사회성과 대중성을 갖게 되는 것이다. 본인은 현대 미술에서 정신과 내면세계 표출이라는 공허한 형식 추구의 미술에 의해 이제까지 판단되었던 역사와 세계를 이해하기 위해, 회화에 일상적 삶의 내용과 인간 정신 측면을 물질적 형태로 나타내었고, 소비사회를 상징하는 오브제를 활용하여 대중과의 소통을 의도하였다.;The Renaissance was a period of new challenge for humans versus God. The Dada movement was formed through resistance to and insubordination towards an existing society. Expressing comploments on the artistic inclination of the Dadaists became a practice of the esthetic reform which had sprung up since World War Ⅰ and World War Ⅱ. In the early 20th century, (a transitional period in Art History,) the introduction of an object into new style of painting paved the way for a three dimensional art form. This three dimensional art was a steeping stone to Pop Art. As an Art for that absorbs mass culture (otherwise refferd to as Low Art), it created a shock wave among the general public. Artists who make use of mass media can be told that they are the ones who seek Art representative of this period. Pop artists do not simply imitate the character of mass culture. Rather they express as a metaphor, the world in which they exist. Language begins to appear in Pop Art as a main means of expression in the late 1960's. As a result of the emergence of Conceptual Art, use of language in artwork increased. This improved understanding between Art and the mass culture. In Conceptual Art, the artistic act isn't limited to shaping artistic things but also pursues "Efficacy of the function and meaning of this Art". The language which appears in my work contains materiality instead of the "De-Materialization" that conceptual Art seraches for. it expresses the sirritual sensibility that we can feel in literary works, making symbols of color and objects such as cloth and wood. The object is that which shapes human feeling which is based in Existentialism, and its purpose is to materialize human feeling. It seek the character and the purity of the material itself. Symbolism leads to a mutual understanding of the general public and the Arts through use of mass media. Artistic activity pursues a never ending creation. Artists search for art form that shape the human spirit using symbolism which includes materiality. This is part of an effort to achieve mutual understanding between the general public and Art.
