TV과학 다큐멘터리 프로그램의 개선방안에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 논문에서는 과학의 대중화에 가장 효과적인 대중매체가 TV매체이며 그 중에서도 다큐멘터리 형식의 프로그램임을 전제로, 앞으로 보다 우수한 TV과학 다큐멘터리 프로그램을 제작하기 위해 지향해야 할 방향을 제시 하였다. 이를 위하여 1. 최근 5년간(1989년 - 1993년) 우리나라 일반 TV에서 방송된 과학 다큐멘터리 프로그램의 현황을 알아보았으며, 2, 설문지를 제작 20대·30대 일반인에게 배포하여, 대중의 TV 과학 다큐멘터리 프로그램에 대한 인식을 조사·분석하였고, 3. 외국의 우수한 작품을 통해 TV 과학 다큐멘터리 프로그램 제작의 국제적 추세를 파악하여 우리나라 과학 다큐멘터리 프로그램의 방향성을 모색하였다. 그 결과 우수한 과학 다류멘터리 제작을 위한 기본 요건으로, (1) 주제 - 현재에 비해 보다 다양한 주제들을 다루어야 한다. (2) 내용 - 쉽고 재미있어야 한다. 구성이 치밀해야 한다. 시각적 효과가 뛰어난 영상창조에 주력해야 한다. (3) 형식 - 구성형식의 다양한 개발이 요구된다, (4) 홍보 - 적극적인 홍보와 예고로 시청자들이 관심을 갖고 시청을 할 수 있도록 해야한 다. (5) 전문인력의 양성 - 전문PD와 구성작가가 양성되어야 하며 카메라맨과의 유기적인 협조가 절대적으로 필요하다. 이와같은 기본요건을 갖춘 우수한 과학 다큐멘터리의 제작이 활성화되기 위해서는 다음과 같은 사항을 고려해 볼 필요가 있다. (1) 국제적인 공동제작 (2) 과학 다큐멘터리 비디오 테잎(VHS Tape), 레이저 디스크(LD) 등의 방송후 판로모색;I hereby suggest the purposes which will be sought in order to make better TV science documentaries for the future, based on the assumption that the most sfficient mass media are TV media for the popularization of science, and particularly efficient are documentary-type programs. For the above purpose, I accomplished: 1. The research of the status quo of the science documentary programs which have been broadcast in the general TV network in Korea during recent five years (1989 - 1993); 2. The research of the degree of people's recognition concerning the TV science documentary programs by means of questionnaire rendered to the people in the ages of between the twenties and thirties; and 3. The study of the prospect of the Korean science programs through foreign exemplary programs. Follwing are basic requirements for producing exemplary science documentaries: 1. subjects - more variable than present; 2. contents - easy and intersting - fine in plot - making images with prominent visual effects; 3. form - developing various composition formats; 4. publicity - publicating and previewing positively fot seeking attention of TV audience; and 5. training professional manpower - professional producers and composition writers - organic co-operation with cameramen For activating the production of exemplary science documentaries which meet the above basic requirements, considerable points are as follows: 1. international co-production; and 2. marketing after broadcasting (e.g.: selling program-recorded video tapes or laser discs).
