한국 창작춤의 작품형식에 관한 연구

Abstract

1980년대는 한국 춤계에 있어 양적인 팽창과 타예술과의 교류, 표현 매체의 다양화, 이론적 확립 등 질적인 향상과 함께 실험적인 무대의 창작화 작업을 끊임없이 시도하고 있으며 한국적 정서를 수반하여 무용예술의 대중화와 종합적인 예술로 승화시키려고 노력한 시기였다. 그러나, 과거의 창작 무용을 올바로 파악하거나 인식하지 못한 무분별한 서구 무용의 수용으로 전통과 단절된 형식을 발생시켰고, 이는 질적인 면보다는 양적인 증가를 시켰으며 이러한 이유로 한국춤의 창작화 작업은 한정된 내용·형식보다는 새롭고 다양한 춤의 양식을 요구하게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 1980년대 이후 한국 창작춤 중에서 대한민국 무용제, 한국 무용 제전에 참가했던 작품과 국립 무용단, 서울 시립 무용단의 정기 공연에서 ① 전통적인 한복 치마, 저고리의 형태를 유지하고, ② 배역이 설정되고, ③ 서정적 마임 또는 상징적 표현으로 줄거리를 나타내는 서정성과 ④ 다양한 의상 채용과 ⑤ 무용수가 하나의 관념을 표현하는 추상성으로 한국 창작춤계의 전반적인 작품 유형을 알아보고, 창작 작품의 구성요소인 ① 대본, ② 안무에 의한 표현 방법, ③ 무용수들의 배역유무, ④ 무대장치의 유무를 기준으로 하여 서술적인 이야기를 전개하고, 서정적·마임적·상징적 표현을 사용하며 배역이 있고, 상황 설정이나 배경을 위해 세워진 무대장치가 있으면 극적인 형식으로, 또한 관념적 주제와 움직임과 이미지를 이용하여 관념적 표현을 사용하며 배역은 없이 무대장치가 있으나 조형물로 세워진 것을 추상적 형식으로 분류하여 창작 작품에서 발생되는 문제점을 찾고자 하였다. 따라서 작품 형식을 분석한 결과, 다음과 같이 결론을 지을 수 있다. 첫째, 극적인 형식, 추상적인 형식 중 어느 한쪽의 치우침이 없이 필요한 요소는 서로 상관 관계를 이루며 형성되었고 둘째, 작품의 의도에 따라 불필요한 요소는 과감히 삭제하여 주제를 명확히 시사했다. 세째, 타 예술과의 접목으로 무용 형식을 구체화시키려 하였다. 그러나 직업 무용단은 무용극에 얽매여 작품 형식에 다양성을 보이지 못했다. 이는 새로운 춤 언어 개발이 연구되어져야 한다는 문제점을 도출했다. 창작 작품 형식 분석으로 안무자의 역할과 중요성을 인지할 수 있었으며, 신진 무용인들이 작품을 체계화시킬 수 있는 토대로써 보탬이 되고자 한다.;The 1980s of Korean dancing had seen not only its quantitive expansion but also the quality improvement including the interchange with other arts, the diversification of display media, and the establishment of its theories ; it is during this critical period that a variety of creation had been tried continuously on extrimental stages and every efforts had been made for the popularization of dancing art and its development to a synthetic art with Korean emotion. The indiscreet introduction of Western dancing without recognizing nor understanding our old creative dance works, however, resulted in a form which does not show our tradition at all, which in turn contributed to the quantitive, not the qualtive, development. It is the reason why the works to create Korean dance do not require limited contents of forms in dancing but new and various ones. By looking into creative Korean dancing works from the 1980s which either had participated in the Korean Dancing Festival of Korean Dance Competition or had been performed by the National Dance Company or the Seoul Municipal Dance Company, their general forms are examined in terms of ① the look of traditional Korean skirts and blouses, ② the cast of plays, ③ lyricism with which lyrical mime or symbolic expression displays the plot of plays. ④ employment of various costumes, and ⑤ abstraction with which a dancer expresses a concept: to discover any problem from the creative works by describing their constituents such as ① scenario ② the expressions method through choreography, ③ presence of casts for dancers, and ④ presence of stage setting, and by using the classification of forms that the works which have lyric, mimic, or symbolic expression and stage setting for the circumference situation or background are dramatic, while thise which have ideal themes, movements, and images, use ideal expression, and have casts and/or stage setting which simply are installed as plastic things are abstract. The analysis of the forms in works reveals following facts: First, the necessary elements which are not biased to either side have been established with interrelation. Second, unnecessary elements are boldly omitted to show theme clearly according to the meaning of works. Third, other friends of art are employed to solidify the form of dance. Unfortunately, however, the professional dancing companies seem to fail to have a variety of forms, being restricted by dance dream. It suggests hat a new dancing language should be explored and developed. In addition the analysis of creative dancing works hints the role and importance of dancers, which is hoped to be helpful for young dancers to systematize their works.
