"한 여름 밤의 꿈"을 위한 무대의상 디자인 연구

Abstract

무대미술은 공연을 목적으로 계획되는 것이다. 무대예술의 한 쟝르인 연극은 문자로 구성된 희곡을 무대 위에서 배우를 통해 시청각적으로 언어화하여 관객에게 작품이 담고있는 내용과 사상을 전달하려는 것에 목적을 둔다. 그 중에서도 무대의상은 극의 해석을 도와주는 상징적 기능이외에 시각 예술로서의 조형적 기능이 강조되며 시대적 정신구조와 감성에 따라 작품해석 및 연출의 다양한 접근이 요구된다. 세익스피어의 「한여름 밤의 꿈」에는 다양한 세계가 제시되어 있고, 그 안에서도 다양한 계층, 지위, 직업, 성격등을 가진 인물이 등장하므로 이에 따른 상징적인 디자인 발상이 가능하며 이러한 점은 현대적 조형감각을 극대화하는 방향으로의 연출의도에 부합된다. 본 연구의 디자인에 있어서는 등장인물의 상징적인 인물표현에 중점을 두고 최대의 시각적 효과를 고려해 현대적 조형감각을 극대화 하고자 한다. 작품의 내용과 의미는 빌어오되 시·공적 배경을 초월하여 무대 제 요소와의 조화에 따른 현대적 감각을 연출하므로써 극적 통일성을 증대시키고자 한다. 연구과정별로 분석된 것 중 특징적인 것을 요약하면 다음과 같다. 제 Ⅰ 장에서는 연구의 목적과 함께 연구의 내용과 방법을 제시하였다. 제 Ⅱ 장은 본 연구의 이론적 배경으로서 무대의상의 개념을 정의하고 그 역할기능을 살폈으며, 의상의 구성요소 및 연출방향에 따라 다양하게 변형·발전 되어진 무대의 공연사진을 통해 의상에 있어서의 그 변화과정을 비교·검토하였다. 제 Ⅲ 장은 작가의 작품세계와 등장인물의 성격을 분석하였다. 제 Ⅳ 장에서는 등장인물 중 주요인물 8인을 중심으로 실물 4점과 디자인 제시 4점을 합한 총 8점을 제작하였다. 제 Ⅴ 장에서는 본 연구를 통해 얻은 결과를 서술하였는데 그 내용은 다음과 같이 요약될 수 있다. 첫째, 고전극의 현대적 연출에 따라 현대의 조형감각을 도입함으로써 무대의상 표현의 현대적 감각이 발휘 되었다. 둘째, 극중 역할에 적절한 디자인 요소를 취함으로써 인물의 특성을 부각시키고 극적 표현을 강조하였다. 세째, 시각적 효과과 극적 효과를 위한 시각적 조형요소들은 무대의상을 시각예술의 독립된 한 분야로 부각시켰다.;Stage art is planned for a performance. Theatre, which is one genre of stage art, communicates to the audience the content of the drama audio - visually through verbal and nonverbal language. Stage costume has symbolic function and supplements the interpretation of the play, adding the beauty of plastic arts. Therefore, stage costume design must take into consideration the factors such as mental structure and esthetics of the time and the interpretation of the drama. In Midsummer Night's Dream of Shakespeare, stage setting varies dynamically and variety of cast in terms of social class, occupation and character appear, and therefore, symbolic expression of stage costume design is possible and sense of plastic arts is maximized. What follows are abstracts of characteristics resulting from analysis according to research process : In 1st chapter, the purpose, content, and method of this study were suggested. In 2nd chapter, deals with the theoretical aspect of the study. After providing the definition of the term stage costume, analysed the function of the stage costume and transition process of the stage costume according to constituent elements and producing direction of the play over the time. In 3rd chapter, contains the analysis of Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream including the author's intention and the flow of the drama. After the analysis, presented the stage costume design of 8 main characters from the drama.
