DDC 윤리신학 분야의 분류기호 수정전개방안에 관한 연구

Abstract

The purpose of this study which deals with the revision and extension for moral theology field of the DDC 20th ed. is to help cover some deficiencies of this classification system and make it usable in the Catholic libraries of Korea. It is known that the present DDC are insufficient to manage the vast scale of the Moral theology's subjects. Therefore, the main goal of this study is to investigate more comvenient and easier ways to deal with this problem in using the DDC classification system. As a method of investigation, this paper is to examine and analyse the main characteristics of the present KDC, DDC, UDC, CCB and LCC applied to the fields of Christianity. They are as follow : 1. The KDC system is the one commonly used in Korea. But since Christianity is reduced to only one division in this system, the KDC seems inadequate to manage many subjects. Therefore, this system cannot be effectively utilized in Catholic Libraries. 2. DDC which has mere divisions than any other classification system is easy to use, especially due to its decimal classification system. It also has many advantages in updating, flexibility, use of mneonomics and providing space forr extensive use of subjects. Moreover, this system has been preferred and widely used by most university libraries, particularly the theological libraries in Korea. 3. UDC, based on DDC, is the system which is academically structured and extensively revised for the use of classifying documents and is reorganized to be used at the international level. In addition, many Catholic elements can be found since this system is more influenced by the European orientatation then the American. However, due to its excessively detailed classification, it doesn't seem to be quite adequate in material classification and has many disadvantages in the revision process and updating. This system is almost not used infrequently in the theological libraries, but appears in a few for technology and science libraries. 4. CCB is regarded as a classification system for the traditional academic structure of the Catholic theology. It may be an alternate way, but does not deal with total fields of Christian theology. Therefore, it could not be a recommendable system for future use. 5. LCC is one of the most vast and detailed classification systems presently used. This system is well known to be most suitable to the big and specialized libraries. This system, which was mainly devised through the system of U.S.Library of Congress, divides the Christian theology into two parts. Therefore, it has many disadvantages for use in the Catholic theological libraries which has few material resources and little manpower. From examining and analysing the main classification systems above, it is concluded that DDC is the most adequate and effective system for the Catholic theological libraries in Korea. But the present DDC system, which was heavily influenced by the Protestant theology and the American library system, doesn't seem to perfectly fit the Catholic theological libraries. Therefore, the revision of DDC is needed to effectively used in the Catholic theological libraries. With this background, I propose a tentative plan to revise and extend the classification method in the field of Moral theology, which is the first section that appears among 240 of the Christianity sections in the DDC system. The method consist, first of all, in paying attention to the content of the scientific division of Moral theology, then the item of Moral theology in the main classifications must be compared with the change of the titles in the DDC system. If the items are lacking or the extension for the subsections and the notations is needed, I present the revision and extension of the DDC in combination with the scientific systems and the classification theories. For example : 1. Change the term of 'Christian moral and devotional theology' in 240, prior to 241 Moral theology, into 'Christian moral and spiritual theology'. 2. Move the exiting 241.04 'Specific denominations and sects' to 241.8 in order to save the mneomonics with 280 'Denominations and sects of the Christian church', then in the place of the 241.04 set up the item 'Related special topics' applying the -04 'special topics' of the standard subdivisions. Finally, in sections 241.041, 241.042 and 241.043, extend the items into subsections of 'Comparative studies', 'Contemporary specific issues' and 'Renewal of Moral theolgy', respectfully. 3. Place the existing 241.1, 'Conscience' according to the order from superior to inferior, that is from 'Laws and bases of morality', and introduce instead the 241.1 section with 'Human actions'. 4. Allocate the 241.21 'Conscience' below the exiting 241.2 'Laws and bases of morality', and put 'Natural law' in 241.22 and 'Divine positive law' in 241.23. 5. Below the existing ' Virtues' in section 241.4 introduce subsections with 'Theological virtues' in 241.41 and 'Cardinal virtues' in 241.42. 6. In the existing 241.5 'Codes of conduct' subdivide 241.52 'Ten Commandments' in 241.521 'First, second & third Commandment' and 241.522 'From forth to tenth Commandment', thus allowing an extensive division of subjects between the Commandments related to God and those related to men. Combine the existing 241.53 'Sermon of the Mount' and 241.54 'Golden Rule' in 241.53 with the new title 'Precepts from New Testament'. 7. There is no change in the terms of section 241.6 'Specific moral issues', but the internal structure is completely changed. This means the comprehensive works of the 'Particular of Moral theology' field are treated here, introducing the new items of 'Ethics of Personal life' in 241.62, 'Ethics of Interpersonal relationship' in 241.63 and 'Christian Social ethics' in 241.64. ⅰ) Then itemize 241.62 'Ethics of Personal life' into extensive subsections of 241.621 'Honor and respect for life and nature', 241.622 'Infringement and Restitution of ownership', 241.624 'Professional, occupational ethics' and 241.625 'Ethic of recreation and leisure'. ⅱ) Itemize below 241.63 'Ethic of Interpersonal relationship' the extensive subsections 241.631 'Respects and disrespect for human life', 241.6316 'Abortion', 241.633 'Ethics of family relationships', 241.636 'Ethics of sex and reproduction', 241.637 'Ethics of social relations'. ⅲ) Itemize below 241.64 'Christian Social ethics' the extensive subsections of 241.642 'Political aspects', 241.6424 'International relation'. 241.643 'Economic aspect', 241.644 'Legal aspects' and 241.649 'Other aspects'. 8. To save the mnemonics of section 280 'Denominations and sects of the Christian church' with the existing section 241.04, set up a new item 'Specific denominations and sects' in 241.8.;본 논문은 DDC 윤리신학 분야의 분류기호 수정전개방안에 관한 연구이다. 현재 사용중인 DDC의 분류체계 및 항목으로는 윤리신학 분야의 주제를 체계적으로 수용하기 어렵기 때문에 이를 가능한 현실에 맞게 수정전개하여 한국가톨릭신학도서관의 자료분류를 위해서 보다 편리한 시안제시가 목적이다. 연구방법에 있어 먼저 현행 주요 분류표인 KDC, DDC, UDC, CCB, LCC에 나타난 그리스도교 분야의 항목비교를 통하여 분류표의 특정을 살펴보면 다음과 같다. 1. KDC는 우리나라 중심이기는 하나 그리스도교, 분야가 1강(網)에 불과하기 때문에 항목수가 극히 미비하여, 신학도서관에서 사용하기에는 적합치 않다. 2. DDC는 그리스도교 분야가 7강 이상을 차지하고 있기 때문에 다른 어느 분류표에 비해서 많은 강목을 차지하고 있다. 또한 십진식 체계이기에 표사용이 쉽고, 최신성이 뛰어나며, 조기성을 활용할 수 있어 신축성도 높고, 항목전개가 용이하다. 더구나 DDC는 국내 일반대학도서관과 신학도서관에서의 보급율과 선호도가 다른 분류표에 비해 뛰어나다 할 수 있다. 3. UDC는 DDC를 기초로 하여 학문체계를 좀더 보완하고 국제적인 차원으로 확대 개편한 분류표이며 서지분류를 목적으로 창안된 표이다. 또한 미국 중심이기 보다는 유럽 중심의 경향이 두드러져 용어사용에 있어서도 가톨릭적인 요소가 많이 나타난다. 하지만 항목전개가 너무 상세하여 자료분류에는 적합하지 않고, 개정제안 및 과정이 신속치 못하여 최신성이 뒤떨어지며, 과학기술도서관을 제외하고는 국내 신학도서관에서 사용하는 곳이 거의 없을 정도로 보급율이 저조하다. 4. CCB는 가톨릭신학의 전통적인 교과과정 위주의 학문체계를 살린 분류표이기는 하지만, 그리스도교 전 분야를 분류할 수 없는, 일종의 대안분류표(Alternative Classification)이고, 1954년 이후 발행이 끊어진 쇠퇴된 분류표이기 때문에 미래 지향적인 관점에서 평가한다면 희망적이라 하기 곤란하다. 5. LCC는 현존 분류표들 가운데 가장 방대하고 상세하여 비교적 대규모 도서관과 전문도서관에서 사용하기가 적합하다는 통념이 있지만, LCC의 그리스도교 분야에서는 신학을 이분지법(二分枝法)으로 대별하였고 또한 미국의회도서관의 장서구성을 기본으로 하여 만든 분류표이기 때문에 가톨릭의 신학체계와는 상이한 점이 많으며, 사용법도 국내에 널리 보급되지 않아 인적, 물적 면에서 영세한 한국가톨릭신학도서관에서 사용하기에는 현실적인 어려움이 있다. 이상으로 비교분석한 결과, 한국가톨릭신학도서관을 위해서는 DDC를 기본분류표로 채택함이 가장 바람직한 방법이라고 본다. 그러나 DDC는 비교적 프로테스탄트적이고 미국중심적인 관점에서 창안되고 발전되어 온 분류표이기 때문에 이를 가톨릭신학도서관에서 그대로 사용하기에는 항목부족과 학문체계의 상이점 등으로 인해 불편한 점이 많다. 그러므로 한국가톨릭신학도서관에서 DDC를 기본 분류표로 채택할 경우에는 반드시 이를 보완할 수 있는 수정전개방안이 마련되어야 한다. 이러한 배경에서 DDC 20판의 그리스도교 분야 중 240대의 첫번째 요목으로 등장하는 윤리신학 분야의 분류기호 수정전개방안을 하나의 시안으로 제시한다. 전개 방법은 윤리신학 학문분류의 내용을 깊이 고찰하고, 주요분류표 안에서 윤리신학 분야의 항목비교와 특히 DDC에서의 명칭변천을 비교분석함으로써, 항목이 부족하거나 세목전개 및 분류주기가 필요한 부분을 학문체계와 분류법이론에 맞추어 전개시키고자 한다. 수정전개시킨 부분은; 1. 윤리신학의 상위표목인 240의 강목명칭을 '윤리신학 및 신심신학'에서 '윤리신학 및 영성신학'으로 변경한다. 2. 기존의 241.04 Specific denominations and sects는 280의 Denominations and sects of the Christian church와의 조기성을 유지시키기 위하여, 241.8로 배정하고, 241.04의 자리는 일반형식구분 -04의 Special topics를 적용하여 '관련된 특수 주제'라는 항목을 설정한다. 그리고 241.041, 241.042, 241.043에 '비교연구', '현대의 윤리신학 문제', '윤리신학의 쇄신'이라는 항목으로 각각 세목 전개시킨다. 3. 기존의 241.1 Conscience는 Laws and bases of morality의 하위주제로 배정하고, 대신 새로운 항목인 'Human and actions'를 241.1 에 설정한다. 4. 기존의 241.2'Laws and bases of morality' 아래의 241.21에는 'Conscience'를 배정하고, 또한 241.22에는 'Natural law', 241.23에는 'Divine positive law'를 각각 설정한다. 5. 기존의 241.4'Virtues' 아래에서는 241.41에 'Theological virtues'와 241.42에 'Cardinal virtues'로 각각 세목전개시킨다. 6. 기존의 241.5 'Codes of conduct'에서는 241.52의 'Ten commandments'를 세분하여 241.521에는 'First, Second & third commandment' 라고 항목을 설정하여 대신윤리(對神倫理)에 관한 포괄적인 자료가 분류될 수 있게 하고, 241.522에는 'From fourth to tenth Commandment'라고 항목을 설정하여 대인윤리(對人倫理)에 관한 포괄적인 자료가 분류될 수 있게 한다. 또한 기존의 241.53의 Sermom on the Mount와 241.54의 Golden rule을 합하여 241.53의 'Precepts from New Testament'로 새로이 항목을 설정한다. 7. 기존의 241.6'Specific moral issues'는 항목명칭에 있어 예전과 다를바 없지만, 내막적으로는 체제를 완전히 달리 하였다. 즉 윤리신학각론 분야에 관한 포괄적인 자료를 여기서 취급하며, 241.62에는 '개인생활윤리', 241.63에는 '대인관계윤리', 241.64에는 '사회윤리'라는 세목을 각각 설정해 준다. 그리고 ⅰ) 241.62 아래에서는 241.621의 '자연과 생명에 대한 존중'과 241.622의 '소유권의 침해 및 보상'과 241.624의 '직업윤리'와 241.625의 '오락 및 여가윤리'로 각각 다시 세목전개하고, ⅱ) 241.63에서는 241.631의 '인간의 생명에 대한 경외 및 불경'과 241.6316의 '낙태' 그리고 241.633의 '가정윤리'와 241.636의 '성윤리'와 341.637의 '사회생활윤리'로 각각 다시 세목전개하며, ⅲ) 또한 241.64 아래에서는 241.642의 '정치윤리'와 241.6424의 '국제관계' 그리고 241.643의 '경제윤리'와 241.644의 '법 윤리'와 241.649의 '기타윤리'로 각각 다시 세목전개한다. 8. 기존의 241.04에 있던 항목을 280의 Denominations and sects of the Christian church와의 조기성을 유지시키기 위하여 241.8에 'Specific denominatiaons and sects'를 배정한다.
