러셀의 여성해방을 위한 교육론 연구

Abstract

This thesis is a study on Letty M. Russell's idea of Christian education for women's liberation. Women have been oppressed more consistently and more wretchedly than any other human group in history. They have been mistreated simply because of what they are. The primary concern for women's liberation movement is to get rid of men's control over women. But to liberate women, we must reform the whole oppressive social structure since it's oppressiong is not merely to women but whole human beings. So wemen's liberation is the process of liberating human being. Since Missio-Dei theology came to the fore, theologians have become increasingly interested in women's liberation, along with black liberation theology and so-called the liberation theology of the third world. The concern for liberation among the theologians of third world led to the concern for liberatim among students in Christian education. Letty M. Russell's definition of the purpose of Christian education is to make us take part in the celabration task for freedom which is God's saving liberation act. We can find other approaches to education in the view of liberation and humanization from Paulo Freire and Ivam Illich. Freire says the heant of education is humanization as a being who is chaning and creating the world, and suggests a theory so-called consciousress, that men must be conscious to remone the factor oppressing human by reflectinhg the social structure and the value system. Illich criticises that the current education causes dehumanization since it's net to join but to adapt to society. So deschooling is nessasary to ouercome this situation. Now, we are going to find a way of total liberation through the christian education wethod by studying Russell's theory of education for women's liberation.;본 論文은 女性 解放을 위만 敎育論을 摸索하기 위해 Letty M. Russell의 女性解放 神學을 硏究하려는 것이다. 女性은 단순히 女性이라는 사실에서 人類歷史이래 가장 오래고 깊은 抑壓의 삶을 살아왔다. 이러한 抑壓에서 1次的인 解放은 男性으로부터의 解放이지만 이 抑壓의 政治的, 經濟的, 社會的 構造가 단순히 女性만을 抑壓하는 것이 아니라 人間전체를 抑壓하고 있기에 女性이 解放되려면 이러한 抑壓의 構造를 變革시켜야 한다. 그러기에 女性解放의 過程에서 전 人間의 解放이 이루어지는 것이다. 基督敎內에서도 이러한 자각들이 일어나서 하나님의 宣敎神學을 계기로 해서 흑인解放 神學, 제3世界 解放神學과 함께 女性解放神學이 神學의 새로운 과제로 摸索되고 있다. 이런 解放的 觀點으로서의 전환은 神學에서 뿐만 아니라 敎育에서도 이루어졌다. 그래서 Letty M. Russell은 基督敎 敎育의 目的을 "人間을 解放시켜 自由하게 하시는 하나님의 救援行動에 함께 參與하여 누리는 自由의 축하잔치"라고 한다. 이러한 러셀의 敎育論的 입장은 하나님의 宣敎神學을 근거로 해서 이루어진 것이지만 敎育論의 과제로 人間化를 추구하는 過程에서 그는 가장 非人間化된 사람이 女性임을 발견하고 女性解放의 觀點에서 自身의 敎育論을 발전시켰다. 러셀은 解放의 결정적인 要因으로 파트너쉽을 提案하는데, 하나님의 새創造를 바라보는 終末論的인 견지에서 파트너쉽을 전개시키며, 파트너쉽으로 성장하기 위한 敎育方法을 堤示하고 있다. 人間解放 혹은 人間化를 目的으로 하는 敎育的 接近은 파울로 프레어리(Paulo Freire)와 이반 일리치(Ivan Illich)에게서도 나타나고 있다. 프레어리는 世界를 變化시키고 創造하는 主體로서의 人間의 人間化 作業이야말로 敎育의 핵심이라고 보면서, 이 人間化 작업을 위해서 現實의 抑壓的 社會構造와 價値體系를 省察, 批判하고 人間을 抑壓하는 제 要因을 除去할 수 있도록 사람들이 意識化되어야 한다고 하는 意識化論을 提示한다. 일리치는 學校敎育이 人間을 世界에 主體的으로 參與하게 하는 敎育이 아니라 순응하게 하는 敎育을 하므로써 人間을 非人間化시키고 있음을 批判하면서, 人間化를 위해서 脫學校가 이루어져야 한다는 脫學校論을 提示한다. 오늘의 非人間化를 논하는 상장에서 러셀의 女性解放을 위한 敎育論을 硏究하므로써 基督敎 敎育의 過程을 통해 全人的인 人간 解放을 이루어가는 길을 摸索해 보기로 한다.
