C. Franck의 Pre´lude, Chorale et Fugue와 C. Debussy의 Images 1e｀re Se´rie에 대한 연구

Abstract

This thesis is analysed and studied of background, form, melody, rhythm and harmony of each works - C. Franck's Pre´lude, Chorale et Fugue, C. Debussy's Images le｀re Se´rie - for complete revival, which are played in Recital, for graduate. C. Franck's Pre´lude, Chorale et Fugue, composed in 1884, is a contrapuntally composed piece, affected by J.S. Bach's polyphonic music based on Romanticism and Mysticism. The themes of each part, using cyclic form which developes with common elements, give unity. At Prelude, he used conventional form and suggested two contrasting themes. The Choral,, as an episode which connecting Prelude and Fugue, being extemporary style, The Fugue divided as exposition, development and Coda, and is the free mode of fugue which the elements of Prelude and Choral complexirely expressed. Like this, this work harmonized Franck's unique and characteristic aspects well to J.S. Bach's Prelude & Fugue Style; in composition and in the development of theme. c. Debussy's Images le｀re Se´rie, composed in 1905, composed as three pieces of Reflets dans l'eau, Homage a｀ Rameau and Mouvement, Reflets dans 1'eau pictorially expressed the image of water with transparent and extemporary character. Homage a｀ Rameau, a slow Sarabande, has no exact frame of form and complexirely uses the contrasting form of homophony and polyphony. In the aspect of constitution, using various medieval mode, shows classic aspects. In the Mouvement, tripler of sixteenth note moves constantly, and by using simple rhythm, expresses the abstract sense and percussion instrumental effect of piano well. Images le｀re Se´rie, as a piece having strang impressive color among Debussy's works, used arpeggio, the progression of parallel 5th, 8th, added chord, 7th, 9th and 11th chord, syncopation, pentatonic scale, whole tone scale, medieval, mode, and showed unique sound of Impressionism by technical use of pedal.;본 논문은 필자의 석사과정 이수를 위한 졸업연주회의 연주곡목 중에서 C. Franck의 Pre´lude, Chorale et Fugue와 C. Debussy의 Images le`re Se´rie에 대한 올바른 이해를 돕기 위해서 곡의 배경 및 악곡의 구성을 연구한 것이다. C. Franck의 Pre´lude, Chorale et Fugue는 1884년에 작곡된 것으로 낭만주의와 신비주의를 바탕으로 J. S. Bach의 다성음악의 영향을 받아 대위법적으로 작곡된 작품이다. 각 부분의 주제들은 공통적인 요소를 가지고 발전시켜 나가는 순환형식을 사용하여 곡의 통일성을 주고 있다. Prelude는 전통적인 형식을 사용하고 있고 2개의 대조되는 주제를 제시한다. Chorale은 Prelude와 Fugue를 연결시키는 삽입구로서 즉흥적인 양식으로 되어 있다. Fugue는 제시부, 발전부, 종결부로 나뉘고 Prelude와 Chorale의 요소가 복합적으로 나타나 있는 자유로운 형식의 Fugue이다. 이와같이 이 작품은 구성과 주제의 전개등에 있어서 J. S. Bach의 Prelude & Fugue 양식에 Franck의 독자적이며 개성적인 면을 잘 융합시킨 작품이다. C. Debussy의 Images le`re Se´rie는 1905년에 작곡된 곡으로 Reflets dans l'eau, Hommage a` Rameau, Mouvement의 3곡으로 되어 있다. Reflets dans l'eau는 투명하고 즉흥적인 성격을 가지고 물의 영상을 회화적으로 표현한 곡이다. Hommage a` Rameau는 느린 Sarabande양식으로 정확한 형식의 틀은 없고 단성과 다성의 반대되는 형식을 복합적으로 사용하고 있다. 선율적인 면에서는 중세 선법의 사용으로 고전적인 면을 나타낸다. Mouvement는 16분음표의 셋잇단음이 계속해서 움직이고 단순한 리듬에 의해 추상적인 감각화 피아노의 타악기적 효과를 잘 표현하고 있다. Images le`re Se´rie는 Debussy의 작품중에서 인상주의적인 색채가 강한 작품으로 arpeggio, 병행5도, 8도의 진행, 부가화음, 7, 9, 11화음, 당김음, 5음음계, 온음음계, 중세선법등을 사용하였고 pedal의 미묘한 사용으로 인상주의적인 독특한 음향을 나타내고 있다.
