무용조명에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 무용을 위한 조명에 관한 연구의 일환으로서, 조명의 일반적인 개념을 바탕으로 선정한 작품을 통하여 작품의 보다 나은 효과를 위해 어떤 조명들을 사용했는지에 대해 살펴보고, 무용에서 조명이 갖는 영역을 확립시키고자 하는 목격으로 이루어졌다. 무용에서 제1차적인 요소는 인체의 움직임이다. 그 외에 의상 조명 음악 장치 등도 무용작품을 형성하고 있는 제2차적인 요소이므로 무용예술에서 빼 놓을 수 없는 중요한 부분이다. 이러한 여러가지 부수적인 뒷받침을 통하여 비로소 예술의 영역을 확보하게 되는 무용은 그 여러가지 부수적인 뒷받침 만큼이나 많은 부수적인 난관도 갖고 있다. 더구나 무용에 있어서 조명의 분야는 현재 다른 매체인 의상, 음악, 장치 보다 뒤떨어진 상태이고 일반적으로 조명은 연극 조명의 대명사가 되고 있음을 흔히 보는데 이것은 모순이 아닐 수 없다. 본 논문에서는 무용예술은 무대위에 그림을 창조하기 위하여 최종적으로 조명에 의존해야 하므로 무용을 위한 무대디자인의 한 분야로써 조명을 지목하여 조명의 중요성을 연구하였다. 2장에서는 무대조명의 역사와 기본적 원리, 무대조명의 목적과 기능, 조명의 조절요소에 관하여 알아보았다. 3장에서는 추상적인 일반 무용작품에서 조명의 효과적인 면을 부과시키기는 어려우므로 드라마틱하고 줄거리를 가진 무용인 "Jesus Christ super star" 를 선정하여 이 작품에서 가장 조명의 변화가 많고 그 극적인 효과가 강조되는 부분에 관해서 알아 보았다. 결론적으로 무대조명은 안무가의 의도와 감정과 전체적인 의미를 관객에게 전달해 주는 동작에 어울리게 분위기를 조성해 주어야 하며 무용수를 포함한 무대전반에 걸친 강조를 확립하고, 분위기 창조와 방향의 암시를 줄 수 있어야 한다. 조명의 계획에 있어서는 작품의 주제와, 극 전개의 리듬, 무용수의 동작, 표정 행위등의 복잡한 조건을 추구하며 연출의 의도에 대응한 전체로써 미적으로 통일된 광선의 이미지에 기초를 둔 조명구성이 되어야 하며 또한 조명 설계자는 작품전체의 선명한 의도와 많은 제약이 따르는 무대설비를 구사하는 기술이 필요하다고 하겠다.;The purpose of this study is for lighting indancing performance: It looks into some works which have general concepts about lighting, finds which lighting system have been used in them, and tries to establish the foundation for lighting in dancing art. The primary element in dancing is the movement of body. And, it can be said that the secondary components consisting of costumes, lighting, music, and stage properties also are too important to be neglected in dancing arts. Dancing has to get the support from such secondary components before it can be performed on the stage, while it has as much difficulties as such a support. Furthermore, the lighting at least in dancing lags behind other media such as costumes, music and apparatus and is most likely to be regarded as one for the theatre: It is totally false. The study makes effort to highlight the importance of lighting as one of the crucial components of dancing art, since lighting is the final resource it has to rely on. The second chapter brieves the history, basic principles, purposes, functions, controlling elements of stage lighting. The third chapter discusses "The Jesus Christ Super Star", a dramatic and story-telling dancing work, especially the parts where there are many lighting changes and their effects are emphasized. The reason why it is chosen as an example is that most of the abstract dancing work lack of relatively strong effectivenss of lighting. In short, stage lighting should creat an atmosphere where the intention, feeling, and general meaning of a choreographer will be delivered well to the audience, surely emphasize all of those on the stage including dancers themselves, and indicate the developing direction of the work. When planning lighting for the stage, you hae a grasp a variety of conditions like the subject of work, its developing rhythm, and the movement, expression, and behavior of dancers. The lighting system should be formed on the basis of the image of aesthetically unified lights that the purpose of production can be well matched with it in technique for stage installation, which is likely to be restricted many ways, with clear understanding of the whole performance.
