Alexander Gorsky에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 전통적인 클래식 발레에서 현대 발레로 옮아갈 수 있도록 교량적 역할을 했으며, 오늘날 볼쇼이 발레의 성격과 향방에 결정적 영향을 미친 Alexander Gorsky(1871-1924)에 관한 연구로서, 그의 창작적 기반이 되었던 사실주의가 예술적 의욕의 실현방법으로 어떻게 전개되었는지에 주목하여 그의 예술관을 검토한 것이다. 그의 생애와 작품을 통해서 나타난 예술적 이념을 고찰하여, 볼쇼이 발레에 끼친 업적을 정리하면 다음과 갈다. 첫째, Vladimir Stepanov의 무용 기보 체계(Dance Notation System)를 철저히 연구하여 <Clorinda, Queen of the Mountain Fairies>와 <The Sleeping Beauty>를 직접 기록하고, 공연했으며 둘째, 발레에 사실주의들 도입하여, 발레 역사에 있어서 최초로 무언극(Mimed Drama)의 원리를 적용하고 극적 지식을 제시하였으며 세째, 무용 영상화(시각화)를 위해 교향곡 전곡을 음악으로 사용한 최초의 안무가였으며 네째, 타예술 분야인들과의 파트너쉽(Partnership)의 형성으로, 고전 발레 작품의 뿌리 깊은 전통을 대담한 혁신과 민족적 독창성의 강화로 안무했으며 다섯째, Sophia FedorovaⅡ, Yekaterina Geltser, Mikhail Mordkin 등 우수한 댄서들을 양성시켰다. 이상과 같은 그의 업적에서 알 수 있듯이 Gorsky는 예술에 대한 성실함과 끊임없는 실험으로 예술로서의 가능성을 확대했으며, 무용을 당대의 예술로 만들어, 이 예술이 속한 시대와 생생한 접촉을 갖게 한 것이었다. 만약 Gorsky가 예술에 대한 그의 이념을 강행하여 볼쇼이 발레에 적합한 토양을 마련하지 못했다면, 오늘날 볼쇼이 발레는 수준 높은 소비에트 문화예술의 창달과, 정의(正義)와 휴머니즘의 이상을 구현하는 진보적 예술에 공헌할 수 없었을 것이다.;The purpose of this work is to study Alexander Gorsky who played a bridge role in transforming traditional classic ballet into modern ballet and an important part in the character and direction of the recent Bolshoi Ballet. Especially, paying attention to how realism which his creativity was based on was developed as the method embodying his artistic desire, this paper examined his view of art. His artistic ideas and achievements that had an effect on Bolshoi Ballet are as follows : First, he made profound study of Dance Notation System created by Vladimir Stepanov and recorded Dance Notation System by himself. He also produced <Clorinda, Queen of the Mountain Fairies>, <The Sleeping Beauty>. Second, he applied the principle of Mimed Drama through the ballet history for the first time by introducing realism in ballet and expressed dramatic knowledge. Third, he was the first choreographer that turned to good account a symphony as dance music for dance visualization. Fourth, he compose the choreographer of traditional classic ballet productions with courageous innovation and national creativity through the help of partnership with other artists. Finally, he cultivated dancers of talent such as Sophia FedorovaⅡ, Yekaterina Geltser, Mikhail Mordkin. As we can examine the above, Gorsky extended the possibility of dance in artistic circles through his constant efforts and research on art. He also enhanced dance as the greastest art of the period and connected dance with the period vividly. If Gorsky had not placed the foundation compatible with Bolshoi Ballet by reinforcing his idea of the arts, Bolshoi Ballet could have not contributed to the progressive art that embody the creativity of culture and art, justice, and ideal of humanism in Soviet Art.
