현대자수와 조형미에 관한 연구

Abstract

현대자수는 새로운 재료의 개발, 생활양식의 변모, 미의식의 변천등으로 표현양식, 표현기법등에 많은 영향을 받았다. 더욱이 섬유조형작품이 현대미술로 영입되는 동시에 쟝르구분이 모호해지고 있는 상황에서 자수는 실(絲)로 표현한 작품으로서 현대섬유 미술이며, 현대미술이라고 할 수 있겠다. 자수는 한국고유의 미적 특성을 지니고 있음은 이미 알고 있는 사실이다. 현대조류에 맞는 조형원리로 재해석하여 한국자수가 나아갈 새로운 방향을 제시해야 할 것이다. 따라서 '현대자수와 조형미 '라는 주제를 설정하고 이를 위한 이론적 배경을 토대로 현대자수의 기원, 조형적 원리를 고찰해 현대자수의 조형미를 분석해 보고자 하였다. 첫째, 자수는 다양한 실로서 다채롭게 구사된다. 특히 밑그림, 재료 표현기법이 잘 조화되어야 하므로 그 상호관계가 매우 중요하다고 본다. 둘째, 창의적이며 독창적인 섬유작품을 제작하기 위해서 다양한 기법과 방법의 혁신, 그리고 새로운 재료의 개발이 절대적으로 필요하다고 본다. 셋째, 자수는 표현적인 형태로 제작되고 이념적 형태는 서정적인 의미를 모두 가졌으며 자수의 가장 기본적인 재료는 선적요소인 실이다. 한땀의 실이 만들어내는 점, 선, 면은 매우 중요하다고 본다. 넷째, 조형예술로써의 현대자수는 실과 천을 사용하는 재료의 특성으로 인하여 다른 분야에서 표현할 수 없는 독특한 효과를 체험한다고 본다. 섬유의 잠재적 조형 가능성의 범주를 확대시킬 수 있는 재질적 요소에 대한 이해를 새로이하고 작품제작을 통하여 체계적으로 연구하는 것이 본 논문의 목적이며 위와 같은 결론을 얻었다.;Modern embroidery has been much influenced in its expressional mode and technique by newer development of material, transfiguration in life manner and transition of aesthetic consciousness. Furthermore, in a situation the fiber-formative work is ushered into modern art and that, at the same time, any classification in genre becomes ambiguous, embroidery may be said modern fiber art as the painting drawn with thread. If is a matter of awareness that embroidery has an aesthetic characteristic peculian to Korea. How it is the time it should be reinterpreated through a formative principle which is fit to current flow so that some momentum for a renewal of it might be managed. Therefore, in this study, the origin and formative principle of modern embroidery have been first investigated into for the required theoretical background. To sum up the findings: first, embroidery has a free command of various quality and thickness of thread of the plane. Expecially, since base-drawing, material and expressional technique have to be well harmonized, the interrelations are seen very important. Second, to produce creative, original fiber pieces, it is viewed absolutely necessary to develop various techniques, innovative methods and newer materials. Third, it is produced chiefly into expressive forms, it has all the lyrical meanings, and it has the lineal element as the most fundamental material, that is, thread. Every point, line and face by any single finger effort is seen very important. Fourth, modern embroidery as formative art, mainly due to its peculiarity to use thread and cloth, has u s experience some special effect which cannot be expressed in any other field. It has been tried, in the process of pieceproduction, to have an aesthetic experience via the principle and to find out the formative beauty of it.
