Ballet-Russes의 무대미술에 공헌한 Le´on Bakst에 관한 연구

Abstract

20C초 근대 발레는 새로운 시대의 예술인들이 등장하면서 급진적인 개혁과 혁신으로 현대적인 경향을 띠게 되었다. 이러한 발레계에 지대한 영향을 미친 인물인 레온 박스트 (Le´on Bakst)는 발레루스에서 디자인을 담당하는 미술가중 한사람으로써 불후의 명작을 남기는데 많은 공헌을 하였다. 그리고 그는 발레루스 작품제작에 있어서 그 시대의 반 고전주의 경향을 바탕으로 무대디자인의 새로운 영역을 제시하는 기반을 다져 놓았으며 예술과 철학, 그리고 과학 연구의 써클 Pickwick에서 디아길레프(Diaghilev)와 합류하면서 발레루스(Ballet-Russes)에 업적을 남겼다고 볼 수 있으므로 본 논문에서는 디아길레프가 이끈 발레루스의 성립에 따르는 배경과 그 시대의 발레루스 무대 미술 사조를 이론적 배경으로 살펴 보았다. 그리고, 중요 인물인 레온 박스트의 생애와 사상을 알아보고 그가 제작한 발레루스의 작품을 중심으로 화보와 이론적인 자료를 통하여 그 작품에 따르는 무대의상과 무대장치의 특성을 연구한 결과 첫째, 발레루스시기 무대장치와 의상은 회화적 무대미술로써 러시아의 이미지를 깊게 느끼게 하는 생생한 색채를 지닌 무대로 혁신적이었으며 둘째, 화려하고 값진 유형의 무대를 창조하여 이국적인 무대 장치와 의상을 고안했고 세째, 인체의 움직임에서 선과 색의 조화를 이루어 왔으며 현란한 색채를 사용하여 스릴 있는 색조로 색의 혁명을 일으켰다. 네째, 그의 대표적인 작품중 세헤라자데 의상 및 무대 장치는 당시 러시아 발레를 한단계 높여 주었고 장식예술의 기반을 확립시켰다. 이와같이 레온 박스트가 발레루스에 미친 그의 예술 세계와 업적이 오늘날의 공연 예술로서 무용을 더욱 활성화시키는 계기가 되었음을 알게 되었다.;In the early 20th century, modern ballet shows up-to-date tendecny due to a rapid revolution and innovation with the appearance of artists of new days. Leon Bakst, who had a great effect on this ballet circles is one of artists who charged design in Ballet-Russes devoted himself to leave persistent masterpieces. And he hardened the foundation which suggested new fields of performing design based on the anti-classicism of those days in production of Ballet-Russes works and as I think he left an accomplishment in Ballet-Russes with joining to Diaghilev who attended circle Pickwick of scientific study and therefore in this thesis the background of the formation of Ballet-Russes which led by Diaghiev and the trends of performing art in those days were investigated as theoretical backgrounds. And, his life and thoughts of Leon Bakst, and important person, were examined and on the basis of the works of Ballet-Russes which he produced, the characteristics of stage costumes and stage settings accorded with those works were studied through the pictorial records and theoretical data and the results was as follows: First, stage settings and costumes during the Ballet-Russes were what had colors which made one to feel Russian image deeply as pictorial performing arts and what was innovative and second, exotic setting and costumes were designed through the creation of the gorgeous and valuable style of stages and third, lines and colors composed harmony in the movements of human body and the color revolution was occured with thrilling colors by using brilliant coloration. Fourth, among his representative works, the costumes and stage settings of Seherazade elevated Russian ballet to one level higher in that times and established the foundation of decorative art. I found that the accomplishments of Leon Bakst Ballet-Russes and his artistic world would be the activating motivation of dance as performing arts of today.
