Abstract

Johann Sebastian Bach(1685∼1750)는 바로크 음악의 대표자로 18세기 음악발달에 거대한 업적을 남긴 작곡가이다. Bach는 대위법적 기법과 화성을 합치시키는 등 다양한 음악 양식을 남겼는데, 그중 교회 칸타타와 수십곡의 세속 칸타타를 작곡하였다. 그중 Soprano를 위한 칸타타 "Was sell ich aus dir machen, Ephraim?, Wer nur den lieben Gott la¨βt Walten, Ich hatteviel Beku¨mmernis는 모두 Oboe의 Obbligato를 갖는다. 세곡 모두 자비로우신 하나님을 칭송하고 죄를 회개하는 내용으로서 반복되는 음형과 Oboe와의 주고 받는 선율이 뛰어나고 가사에 대한 곡의 표현이 훌륭하다. Hector Berlioz(1803~1869)는 불란서 낭만주의 시대의 작곡가로서 예술성과 표현력이 뛰어난 작곡가이다. 그가 음악사에 남긴 공로는 무한하며, 특히 표제음악과 고정악상, 관현악법의 발전은 더욱 두드러졌다. 그의 대표적인 Concert Opera인 "La Damnation de Faust"는 Berlioz가 생각해 낸 극적 스토리의 형식을 취하고 있으며 원작인 Goethe의 Faust를 읽고 감명을 받아 네르발(Geral do Nerral)의 프랑스어 대본에 의해 칸타타 풍으로 작곡되었다. 이 곡은 전4부로 되어 있고 장면의 변화가 많다. 연주시간은 약 2시간이며 등장인물은 Marguerite(S), Faust(T), Mepistopeles(Br 또는 B), Brander(B), 기타 가수이며 때는 16세기 곳은 도이치이다. Romance는 제4부에 나오는 마르가리테의 노래로써 슈베르트의 "물레감는 Gretchen"으로 유명하다. 이 곡으로 Berlioz의 표제주의적인 면을 엿볼 수 있으며 관현악의 방대한 음량을 감지할 수 있다. E. Wolf-Ferrari(1876~1948)는 이태리 오페라 작곡가이다. 그의 작품 4 Rispetti Op.11은 1902년 쓰여진 민요풍의 사랑노래로 네곡 모두 통작가곡의 형식을 취한다. 「Tranquillo-Con anima-Con intimo Sentimento-Presto」로 네곡에 tempo의 변화를 주었으며 각 곡마다 간결하면서 도 Climax가 이루어지는 과정과 마무리를 잘 나타내고 있다. Arnold Scho¨nberg(1874∼1951)는 표현주의, 나아가서는 12음음악의 창시자로서 현대음악에 가장 많은 영향을 준 사람이다. 그의 작품 Vier Lieder Op 2는 네곡의 통작가곡 형식이며 그의 초기 작품이다. Tempo는 「Sehr langsam-Sehr langsam-Etwas bewegt- Etwas bewegt」의 진행이다. 이 곡을 통하여 그의 특징적인 음형의 반복, 지속음의 사용을 엿볼 수 있다. John Adler Carpenter(1876∼1951)는 미국 작곡가이며 무용극과 Jazz를 겸비한 그의 음악은 미국 현대음악의 위치에서 독특한 노래로 인정되었다. Carpenter의 연가곡 Gitanjali는 1936년에 작곡되었고 모두 6곡으로 이루어져 있다. 이 곡들의 특징적인 것은 지속음의 사용인데, 전 곡에 걸쳐 나타나고 있다. Rabindranath Tagore시에 의한 이 곡들은 사랑의 노래로 서정적이면서 때론 열정적으로 불러야 할 것이다.;The writer performed a graduation recital on September 26, 1989 for M. M. degree course. The purpose of this thesis was to consider the backgrounds of five courposers and the characteistics of their compositions which wre performed. Johnn Sebastian Bach (1685-1750) was a great composer who contributed a fantastic record of music development in the 18th century as a representative of the Baroque period. Bach contributed to musical form by variously combining counterpoint and harmony by which he composed many church catatas and secular catatas. BWV 89, 93 and 21, "Was sol1 ich aus dir machen, Ephram?, "Wer nur den lieben Gott labt. walten". "ich hatte viel Bekummernis" include soprano arias with oboe obbligato. Those three cantatas have the meaning of praising a gracious God and repenting of sin. The Melody which is repeated also between the voice and Oboe is significantly outstanding and also is great for expression of melody against text. Hector Berlioz (1803-1869) was a French composer in the era of romanticism, who had an outstanding ability of expression as well as an artistic point of view. He holds an important place in music history especially in the fields of program music, idee fixe and orchestration. His typical Concert Opera" La Damnation de Faust" was composed to a dramatic story issued by himself since he was quite impressed by reading the French script of the original Goethe's "Faust" composed by Geral de Nerval in the form of a cantata. This work consists of four different parts having various scenes. It takes about two hours to perform thhis work, featuring Marguerite(S), Faust (T), Mepistopeles (Br or B ), and Brander(B) set in 16th century Germany. "Romance" is the same poem as that set by Schubert "Gretchen am Spinnrade" and is in 4 parts. In the Romance, we can visualize the program music of Berlioz and sense easily the abundant volume of the Orchestra. E. Wolf-Ferrari (1876-1948) was 'an Italian composer. His 4 Rispetti Op. 11 was composed in 1902 as love songs in the style of folk song and all four songs are through-composed. He used "Tranquillo-con anima-Con intimo sentimento-Presto" tempo through this song cycle. All 4 songs are well expressed in reaching and ending the climax. Anorld Schonberg (1874-1951) was the man of expressionism who influenced much contemporary music as the creator of dodeca-phony. His four Songs Op. 2 are through-composed and he used "Sehr langsan-Sehr langsam-Etwas bewegt-Etwas bewegt" temp through this song cycle. In this work, we find as a characteristic structure the use of pedal point. John Adler Carpenter (1876-1951) was an American composer whose speciality was coordinating beteen Ballet drama and Jazz and his music was well recognized by the public as a particular style of Song especially in the field of contemporary music. In the year 1936 he composed this song cycle "Gitanjali". The outstanding point of these songs is the used pedal point throughout the entire work. These songs to the poems of Rabin-dranath Tagore are also supposed to be sung passionately even though they are deemed lyrical like love-songs.
