섬유예술에 있어서 부조적 조형표현

Abstract

현대 섬유예술은 과거의 단순한 공예적 차원에서 벗어나 심미적 가치를 창조하는 폭 넓은 분야로 확대되었으며 조형예술의 한 분야로서의 다양한 표현 양식과 재료 선택으로 많은 변화와 발전을 이룩하게 되었다. 이러한 현대 예술 양식 속에서 섬유예술의 발달은 예술가의 시각과 감정에 있어 새로운 영역을 창조하는 계기를 이루었다. 바우하우스 이후 섬유예술가들은 작품의 미적 가치를 중요시하였으며 조형요소로서의 질감에 의한 시각적 변화에 관심을 보여왔다. 특히 재료와 기법면에서 다양화 되었고 일정한 공간 형식에서 벗어나 2차원적인 평면에서 부조와 3차원적 입체의 형태로까지 발전하게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 부조적 조형표현을 위하여 다양한 표현기법 속에서 Slit기법과 Piece조립을 중심으로 고찰하였고 현대 섬유예술가 들의 작품을 분석함으로서 작품제작의 기초를 찾아보려고 하였다. 본인은 작품제작 과정에 있어서 Piece조립을 위하여 동선을 날실로 이용하였고, 마푼사, 마꼰사, 사이잘삼등을 사용하여 평직으로 직조하였다. Piece 조립에 있어서는 평면으로 직조한 Piece를 원통모양으로 만들어 평면위에 부착함으로서 부조적인 효과를 나타내었다. 또한 Piece조립을 통하여 Piece에 의한 구성이 하나의 단일화된 작품과는 달리 작품제작 의도에 따라 평면의 단조로움에서 탈피하여 새로운 측면에서 Piece조립의 조형성을 추구 하고자 한 것이다. 본인은 작품을 통해 인간의 내면세계에 존재하는 심리적인 갈등과 삶에 대한 고뇌, 물질문명으로 인한 인간성의 상실을 섬유라는 매제를 통해 표현하였다. 작품제작결과 마사와 사이잘삼의 사용은 인간의 내면세계를 표현하는데 있어 질감의 효과를 높여주었고 삶에 대한 의미를 표현하는데 적합하였다. 평면위에 원통형의 Piece를 부착시킴으로서 깊은 공간감을 느낄 수 있었으며 Piece의 색상과 크기에 변화를 주어 화면의 단조로움을 탈피할 수 있었다. 직조하고 난 후 경사 즉 동선이 보이는 점과 뒷처리에 문제점이 있었으나 끊임없는 노력이 뒷받침 된다면 부조형식의 조형적 창작은 무한한 가능성을 나타낼 수 있을 것이다.;A modern fiber art has been magnified in the broad field creating an aesthetical value. The fiber art in a part of formative art has been contributed much change and development to the art expression with the expressive way of each artist and the selection of variable materials. In the modern art ways, the development of fiber art created the new domain in the visuality and emotion of artists. Since Bauhaus', fiber art has been imposed by much of the aesthetical value, and in the visual change by the quality of the form material much concern has specially been payed. In this article, the way how to express the relief effect which pieces are used has been intensed. The great change of formative art by various formative principles will be considered differently from the work which has been so far composed simply by pieces. Also, I made the work using pieces and had the intention to express the beauty of art by putting pieces together in various methods. I consider pieces are what is to create an aesthetics by composting the structural order on plane and three-dimensional to select something among the various materials. Therefore, this work has been made the intention of expressing the relief by slit method and assembling pieces with Linen and sizal. I tried to pursue the formation of the piece assembling in the new point of view to get away from the simplicity of flatness. These make us recognize an indefinite possibility with the various expressive method of pieces in the effect which a work has, after putting together individual beauty of piece work itself.
