그는 「Three Sonatas for Pianoforte」Opp. 6, 19, 23 ; 「Allegro Appassionata」Op. 4 ; 「Concert Allegro」Op. 18 ; 「Fantasy」Op. 28 ; 「Etudes」Op. 8 ; 「Impromptus」Opp. 7, 10, 12, 14 ; 「Masurkas」Opp. 3, 25 ; 「Preludes」Opp. 11, 13, 15, 16, 17, 22, 27 ; 「Nocturnes」, 「Waltz」, 그외 다른소품등 400여개의 피아노 작품을 작곡하였는데 초기작품에서는 F. Chopin, F. Liszt, R. Wagner의 영향을 보이나 그러한 모방적 경향은 1903년 이후 그의 스타일을 완성하면서 사라진다. The Russian composer A. Scriabin (1872-1915) was an outstanding pianist also and wrote predominantly piano music. He began his career as a composer by writing nocturnes, preludes, etudes, mazurkas in the manner of Chopin. Soon Scriabin had interest in Liszt and Wagner, s works for the chromaticism and the French impressionism. Scriabin belonged to the Russian modernist movements and he began to seek how to realize an ideal of total personal freedom. In his period in Brussels, he achieved his distinctive musical style, mysticism. The works of his late period, rejects tonality and the pull of the tonic, and triadic harmony which were supplanted by the use of a six-note chord consisting of perfect and altered fourths (c-f^(#)-b^(b)-e-a-d). The mystic chord completely dominates the Promethe´e Symphony of 1911 and is also piano sonata No. 7 and afterwards. The early works for the piano which are full of romantic lyricism and tonality, exhibit the innovative quality of his late works, especially Etude Op. 8. Therefore, in this thesis, Scriabin's Etude Op. 8 which is frequently played in the concert hall has been examined for the study of the aspect of Scriabin as a pianist and revaluate the artistic value of this etude. The Etude Op.8 consists of 12 etudes i n the manner of Chopin and all of them are constructed in 3 part form (ABA) except No. 10. And the most characteristic feature of the Etudes are frequently use of repetition and sequence. Also the purpose of an Etude is as follows: such as octave and arpeggio extensions of the left hand; conflicting rhythm (3:4 2:3); a consecutive use of 3rds and 6ths; asymmetrical periods and phrases; legato melody with staccato accompointment; the stretch of the hands toward 9th, 10th, or 11th; accented octave motion; interlocked chords; wide dynamic ranges (PPPP-fff), etc. In harmony each etude has clear tonal center but freely modulates by enharmonic, chromatic and diatonic modulations. Especially, Nepolitan sixth and French sixth are used for the color change. Also the suspension, anticipation, appoggiatura are frequently used in No. 11. In conclusion, in this etude Op.8, Scriabin already have exibited his wish for freedom in tonality and sense for color which is fully manifested in his late works at the same time presents the original purpose of an etude, the various technical problems are also presented in these etudes. Thus this Etude Op.8 makes great contribution to the modern piano literature.-
