한국 학생의 강세·리듬 이해도 연구

Abstract

언어 행위에 있어서 가장 중요한 것은 정확한 구사로 의사소통을 하는 것이다. 한 언어의 정확한 구사를 위해서는 그 언어의 자음과 모음 음성체계 뿐만 아니라 강세와 리듬을 이해하고 익숙하게 훈련하는 것이 중요하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 영어를 외국어로 배우고 있는 한국의 중·고등학생들이 영어의 강세와 리듬을 어느정도 정확하게 이해하고 있는가 살펴보고, 그 지도방안을 모색해 보고자 한다. 먼저 서론에서는 연구의 목적을 서술하고, 교사와 학생들을 대상으로 설문조사를 하여 간접적인 강세와 리듬의 이해도를 알아보고, 연구문제를 서술해 본다. Ⅱ장에서는 강세와 리듬에 대한 이론적 배경을 서술해 본다. Ⅲ장에서는 중학교 2학년, 고등학교 1학년 학생 각30명을 무작위로 선정하여 지필검사를 실시해서 실제적인 강세와 리듬의 이해도를 알아보고, 이것을 토대로 강세와 리듬의 학습 지도방법을 모색해 본다. 학습 지도방법 자료를 이용해 학생들을 집중지도한 후, 다시 지필검사와 표현검사를 실시해서 1차 지필검사와 2차 지필검사의 결과를 비교해 보고, 지필검사와 표현검사의 결과를 비교해 본다. 결국 학생들이 영어를 발화할 때 소홀하기 쉬운 강세와 리듬에 대해 좀 더 관심과 주의를 기울이도록 함으로써 의사소통에 도움이 되도록 하는 것에 이 연구의 의의가 있다.;The most important aim of language learning is to communicate precisely and freely. To achieve the aim, teachers must teach their students English correctly and interestingly. But there are many problems in English learning, so students actually speak differently though they have a lot of knowledge of English stress and rhythm. First, I describe and classify the stress and rhythm problems which occur among the Korean students in learning English. After that, to solve the problems, the following questions were dealt with through experiments : 1. Do students have a knowledge about stress and rhythm? 2. After the students are taught through many teaching methods, do students improve in the second test? 3. Can students actually use correct stress and rhythm when they speak? 4. If any students lack the correct use of knowledge, why? To test the four questions and find out the comprehension of stress and rhythm, 30 middle school students and 30 high school students were selected through a random sampling. The results of the first test are as follows : 1. The comprehension of stress and rhythm was low. 2. Most of the students didn't know the difference in rhythm between Korean and English. In order to improve the students' comprehension of stress and rhythm, the same students were taught ten teaching methods for 10 days. After that, the second test was taken. The results are as follows : 1. The comprehension of stress and rhythm was improved. 2. When the students actually speak, many students made an effort to use their knowledge. Stress and rhythm is a very important part in communication, so teachers have to make students use correct stress and rhythm. But considering the current English education in Korea, it is difficult to learn in the way the teachers ask the students to do. In spite of many difficulties, the teachers should try their best to improve the students' comprehension of stress and rhythm, and make use of many useful teaching methods.
