패턴의 구조적 코딩 방식을 이용한 한글 폰트의 구성

Abstract

본 논문은 구조적 코딩 방식을 이용하여 한글 폰트를 표현하였다. 우선, 한글 폰트의 구조적인 규칙성을 이용하여 한글 기본 자모를 이루고 있는 기본꼴 목록을 추출하였다. 이 기본꼴들로 구성된 각 자모의 폰트 베이스(font-base)를 작성하고, 한글의 조합 법칙에 의하여 분류된 6 가지 형식에 따라 자모를 위치시킴으로써 하나의 글자를 형성하는 방식을 제안하였다. 그리고 한글 폰트에 확대 / 축소, 기울어짐 같은 변형을 가하는 방법도 연구하였다. 이 같은 방식은 글자의 구조상 공통적인 모양은 각 글자마다 중복되게 정의할 필요 없이 하나만 정의해 놓고 공통적으로 사용할 수 있기 때문에, 매우 적은 기억 공간으로 폰트를 정의할 수 있다. 또한, 변형 가능성을 최대한으로 제공할 수 있도록 설계하였는데, 공통적으로 사용되는 기본꼴을 바꿈으로써 글자체를 바꿀 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 여러 가지 변형을 가할 수 있다.;This thesis proposes the method of generating the computerized Korean characters by using structural coding. The structural coding means that all the Korean characters are composed by primitives set which is obtained from common characteristics of Korean characters. In order to obtain the list of primitives for Korean text, all the Korean characters are classified and extracted by structural coding rules. And the font-base is generated for handling various Hangeul primitives. Then, all the Korean chracters are composed by using this font-base. Because the purpose of this thesis is aimed at the design of flexible Korean character, structural coding rules and a font-base are verified and implemented for all kinds of character styles. Hangeul font generation using structural coding offer a flexible way of design and so many variation in character display.
