Franz Schubert의 예술가곡집

Abstract

독일 가곡(Lied)을 예술가곡(Kunstlied)의 경지까지 끌어올린 작곡가는 Franz Peter Schubert이다. 그의 600곡이 넘는 가곡은 아름답고 서정적인 선율이 대부분을 이루고 있으며, 자연에서 얻어지는 감각적인 선율이 중요한 역할을 하고있다. 화성면에서는 그 이전시기에서 많이 볼 수 없었던 빈번한 전조와 변화화음 사용등의 새로운 기법을 보여주고 있다. 또한 piano반주는 시의 내용을 더욱 잘 표현해주고 있다. 이러한 Schubert 가곡의 특성을 잘 나타내주고 있는 "Schwanengesang(백조의 노래)" 은 연가곡집으로서, 일관된 특색을 들 수는 없으나 이 속에 포함되어 있는 곡들은 모두 Schubert가 최후에 이르게된 가곡의 양식을 갖추고 있다는 점에 의미를 두어 연구하였다. 본 연구는 "Schwanengesang" 에 대한 분석 연구로서, Ⅰ장에서는 독일 예술가곡이 탄생하게된 시대적 사조및 Schubert이전의 가곡형태를 알아보았고, Ⅱ장에서는 Schubert 가곡의 전반적인 작품과 특징을 살펴보았다. Ⅲ장에서는 "Schwanengesang" 전 14곡의 악곡 분석을 시의 분위기, 형식, 조성, 화성, 선율, 반주, 리듬, 시의 의미에 따른 음악의 전개등을 중심으로 살펴보았으며, Ⅳ장에서는 그 결론으로 Schubert 만년작품의 특징들을 재확인 하였다. 독일가곡은 낭만주의 서정시의 많은 출현과 함께 발전하게 되었으며, 그러한 문학적 사조의 영향을 받은 Schubert의 가곡은 첫째, 시와 음악이 혼연일체 되어 시의내용을 풍부하게 나타내고 있다. 둘째, 형식은 통작가곡형식, 유절형식 및 변형유절형식을 적절하게 발전시켜 사용하였다. 셋째, 선율은 시의감정에 따라 도약진행, 순차진행, 동형진행등을 사용하여 자연스럽게 흐르고 있다. 네째, 화성적인 면에서는 전조가 자유롭게 일어나고 있으며, 화음은 이전시기에서는 많이 사용하지 않던 증 6화음 및 감 7화음등이 사용되어 가사의 내용을 효과적으로 묘사해 주고 있다. 다섯째, piano 반주는 이제까지 화음만을 반주해오던 단순한 역할에서 벗어나, 시의 의미에 따른 감정을 더욱 확실하게 표현해주는 중요한 역할을 하고 있다. 특히 생생한 리듬으로 발전되는 반주부의 베이스 선율은 Schubert만의 독특한 것이라 할 수 있다.;Franz P. Schubert is among the greatest art song composers of all time. For, Schubert the Lied was the most natural and immediate form of expression. There are over six hundred songs with which Schubert created the core of the German Lied. Schubert was destined to follow in the steps of Reichardt, Zelter and Zumsteeg along a path which was to lead to the high-est balance between words and music. He elevated such purely musical elements as harmony and instrumental accompaniment to equal importance with poem and melody. "Schwanengesang", a posthumously published collection of songs, is a masterly epiloque to the long series of his songs. This study of "Schwanengesang" reveals flexibility in form, harmony, tonality, melody and accompaniment. The songs also show some deviations in technique from that which may be called the standard practice of his time. In "Schwanengesang" Schubert frequently shifted tonal focus to highlight individual poetic lines or groups of lines. The classical chromatic chords are used freely and purposefully for their capacity to point a phrase or to color a harmonic progression. "Schwanengesang" is the epitome of unity between words and music.
