오르간음악의 이해증진을 위한 연구

Abstract

오르간(Organ)은 건반악기 중에서 가장 오랜 역사를 갖고 있으며 서양음악 특히 기독교음악에서는 신·구교를 불문하고 빼놓을 수 없는 중요한 역할을 담당했던 악기였다. 오르간의 語源은 그리이스語의 opravov(Organon)으로서 처음에는 '조립된 도구'를 의미했다. 그 후 모든 악기를 총칭하는 '악기'란 의미로 바뀌어졌으며 중세에는 다시 오르간이 '교회에 있는 악기' (The instrument of church)를 지칭하게 되었으며, 오늘날에는 '악기 의 왕' (The king of instruments)이라고 불려지고 있다. 이러한 장엄한 의미를 갖는 오르간은 2천 년을 걸치며 오랫동안 심한 장애와 잘못된 흐름을 겪으면서도 발전을 거듭해 왔고, 오늘날 우리는 오르간을 교회의 성가대석에서 없앤다는 생각을 더 이상 할 수 없을 만큼 오르간과 교회음악은 필수불가결한 관계로 발전을 거듭해 가고 있다. 우리나라에서는 19세기 말에 선교사들에 의해 비로소 오르간이 소개 되었으므로 그 역사가 짧고, 오르간을 연주하는 기회도 그리 많지 않았기 때문에 일반인들에게는 이 악기가 매우 생소하고 고풍스러운 악기로만 알려져 왔다. 그러나, 이제 우리나라에도 오르간의 보급이 늘어나고 오르간 연주자도 많이 양성되었으며, 연주회 등을 통하여 오르간 음악을 보다 자주 접하게 됨에 따라 일반인들을 위한 오르간 안내서가 필요하게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 우선 오르간에 대한 이해를 쉽게하기 위하여, 오르간의 발달을 그 발생에서부터 오늘날에 이르기까지 역사적으로 살펴보았으며, 제3장에서는 오르간의 구조를 파이프群, 풀무, 트랙커(tracker), 연주대로 나누어 설명하였다. 제4장에서는, 오르간 연주자에게는 기본교재라 할 수 있는 J. S. Bach(1685-1750)의 Orgelbu¨chlein을 통하여 그 작곡목적과 이 곡집에 사용된 코랄 프렐류드(Chorale Prelude)의 다양한 형식을 살펴보고, 가사의 의미를 선율로 표현하는 기법에 중점을 두어 분석함으로써, 바하가 오르간 코랄에서 나타내고자 했던 가사와 선율간의 상징적 조화를 알아보았다. 그러므로 본 논문은 오르간에 대하여 알고자하는 일반인은 물론 특히 중등음악교육을 담당하는 교사들이 학생들에게 오르간을 소개하고자 할 때 그 이해를 돕고, 더 나아가 오르간 보급에 기여할 수 있도록 하기 위하여 연구되었다.;An Organ, the oldest of keyboard instruments, was of great importance to western music, especially to church music of Roman Catholic and Protestant branches. The name of 'Organ' was derived from the Greek' opravov(Organon)', which originally meant' organized instrument'. And then, it was called "the instrument" which represented all the instruments at that time, the instrument of church in the Middle Ages. Organ is nowadays called the king of instruments. Even though the development of the organ through the 20th centuries had many stages of phases, it continued to modern time Before considering church music it might be wise to associate with Organ. At the end of the 19th century, the organ was introduced to Korea by missionaries for the first time; as the oragan has short history in our country. So the organ has been known as unfamiliar and classical instrument to us. As this instrument now became popular in our country where it was used for many concert and organists have been educated more and more, the inspiration and need for an comprehensive introduction to organ instrument grew from many musicians and others. In this thesis, the author first traced the history of organ developments in detail based upon supportive documents and reference literatures, and in the 3rd part depicted the organ structure by separating it into the pipes, the bellow, tracker and console part. In the fourth part, the educational purpose of composing and the various form of Chorale prelude is presented by analysing the Orgelbu¨chlein of J. S. Bach (1685-1750). And the combination between the meaning of text and melody is also studied clearly based upon the art of expression. The author has written this thesis in the sincere hope that it will become a valuable handbook for many people who wants to know the organ, especially to introduce the organ music in the middle school and contribute to the spread of organ instrument in our country.
