현대인간의 주관적 표현연구

Abstract

20세기末의 現代社會는 지구상의 어느곳을 막론하고 기계문명과 과학의 급속한 발달로 개인주의가 팽배한 가운데, 人間의 虛無와 不安·無關心이 고조되는 인간간의 갈등으로, 스스로 고립되는 인간 疏外가 비인간적 상황과 함께 초래되고 있다. 이러한 狀況에서 外的現實과 차단하고 예술가 자신만의 內面에 安住하여, 관념에 대한 자신의 정서적 반응을 전달하는 관념적인 예술에 대한 反動으로 表現主義的 性向이 대두되고 있다. 本人은 예술가 고유의 의식을 '실제적으로 강요되고 있는 條件이나 단순히 주어진 조건을 넘어서 자연의 통합과 현실의 파악을 목표로 하며, 이를 보다 풍성하게 하여 인간적인 것을 긍정하도록 노력하는 데에서 발견되는 것'으로 보고 있다. 그러므로 형식적 감각보다는 감정에 호소하는 유희적 순수추구보다는 내용을 지닌 예술이 되기를 희망하여, 作家 個人이 경험한 것에 대해 직접적이고도 성실하게 응답함으로써 예술과 인간 사이의 疏遠해진 관계를 극복하고자 한다. 이렇게 함으로써 예술의 本質인 인간과 인간의 精神的, 感性的 交感과 共感帶를 형성하려 하였다. 따라서 本人의 作品에서는 人間像이 主體로 등장하고, 감성적 영역인 直觀과 本能, 非論理的인 主觀主義에 基盤을 둔 표현주의 회화의 원리에 따라 화면이 전개되고 있다. 以上 서술한 內容을 다룬 作家와 作品으로, 강박관념적 정신상태의 해방을 왜곡된 형태를 통하여 전달하는 데 성공한 Edvard Munch, 인간존재의 本質的인 비극성·부조리성을 폭로한 Francis Bacon, 비인간적 극한 상황의 체험에서 인간을 實存的으로 파악한 Jean Fautrier와 黃用燁, 역사적 상황에 대한 작가의 감정을 개성적으로 표현한 Picasso의 大作 <게르니카>를 살펴보았다. 또한 '예술작품은 生命自體의 구조와 마찬가지로 단순한 사물이상의 것이며, 기계적으로 고안된 것이 아니고 의미표현이기도 하기 때문에 이 兩者가 균등하게 균제될 때에만 자기 生命을 가진다'는 S.Langer의 定義를 토대로 현대를 사는 인간상의 內的 本質을 적합한 形式으로 外化시킨 감정의 世界를 모색하였다. 즉, 本人이 파악하는 현대인의 본질-불안하고 非人間的인 환경 속에서 자신의 모습을 제대로 지탱하며 살아가기 어려운 상태를 직접이고도 적극적으로 표현하기 위하여 表現主義 繪畵의 造形的 요소라고 할 수 있는 격렬한 筆致, 감정과 분위기를 암시하기 위한 주관적 색채, 형태의 직관적인 변형이라는 세가지 主된 方法으로 本人作品에 있어서의 內容과 形式的인 面의 조화를 추구하였다.;In the modern society of late 20th century, the rapid development of science led to rampant individualism in every corner of the world. Thus while people were suffering from their vanity, restlessness and indifference, the conflict among people brought about alienation along with inhumane situation. Under these situations, expressionism rises currently in reaction to abstract art. I take what artists pursue as their efforts to restore humanity and communicate with nature. Accordingly, I intend to narrow the chasm between men and art by responding sincerely to what I have experienced so far in the hope of pursuing art with value rather than art for diversions. I have tried to form mental and emotional relationship among people. For this reason, human figure came to the subject in my work, and the picture presented according to the principle of expressionism based on intuition and instinct which are in the emotional area and illogical subjectivity. I studied the works of the artists such as Fautrier, Munch, Francis Bacon, Picasso and Hwang Yong Yeop who put the subject mentioned in the above to their own works. The way of analysing my works agrees to S. langer's in that the value of works lies in the balance between the content and style. In order to express the nature of men living in the modern society, men who have trouble in finding themselves in the circumstances of lack of humanity, I tried to make the harmony of content and style in my works by the method of tough stroke of bursh, emotional colour and intuitive deformation in plastic, which is the element of expressionism.
