Repetition에 의한 종이작업

Abstract

현대미술에서 부수적인 미술매체에 불과했던 중이가 풍부한 조형표현의 잠재력을 지닌 예술매체로 인식되면서부터 오늘에 이르기까지 빠른 발전과 변혁을 거듭하여 섬유예술의 독자적 영역으로 구축되게 되었다. 이렇듯 종이 작업이 다른 분야의 예술작업에 신선한 자극을 제공할 수 있었던 것은 종이자체가 지닌 내적요소와 다채로운 제작방법을 통한 외적요소가 조화하여 총체적인 조형예술로 승화되는 종이의 속성에 기인 하였다고 본다. 따라서 본 논문은 현대미술 세계속에 새로운 조형매체로 등장한 종이의 일반적인 고찰과 함께 현대의 종이 조형 작업에서 행해지고 있는 독창적이고 다양한 표현방법을 분류 고찰함으로써 종이 조형에 대한 미적 가능성을 확대하고자 하였다. 작품제작은 이와같은 이론적인 배경을 토대로 인간내면에 잠재하고 있는 다채로운 이미지를 형상화하기 위하여 한지를 주재료로 사용하였으며 Repetition에 의한 Piece조립을 통해 공감적인 깊이감을 부여하려는 작업을 시도했다. 이러한 작품제작 과정을 통해 Piece조립은 동일한 형태가 명암의 차이나 텍스츄어의 차이를 가지고 반복될 경우 제작자의 목적에 따라 획득되는 무한한 미적 가능성과 함께 대형 작업까지도 가능하게 한다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 종이 조형은 섬유예술로서 다채로운 표현영역과 기법을 제공하기 때문에 새로운 소재로 받아들여지는 것이 당연하며 순수 조형 예술의 한 분야로 평가되고 발전되어야 할 것으로 생각된다.;The infinite possiblity due to the property of paper such as quality itself and various technique srachraly got to attract the artists attention, so "The paper work" has appeared as a part of the fiber arts because paper's gravity has been growing in the general sphere of the Arts. In thes thesis, I studied the process of paper work of Korean typical paper and researched the backgrounds of creative expression with hand made paper. On the basices of theory, I try to recover the human nature from the modern industrial socitey through hand's paritcipation with the pure korean paper work by repetition paper. I try to express the work lyrically by giving depth and the perspective sense through setting-up-pieces by perpendicular composition on plane with the peculiar texture obtained by the process of hand-made paper. Therefore the paper work offers various expression and techniques for fiber art medium. I am surely believe the development of paper making plays important role for broaden the image of mudern art work
