미술사조가 복식에 미친 영향

Abstract

본 논문은 프랑스 혁명기를 중심으로 당신의 미술 사조가 복식에 미친 영향을 고찰하였다. 프랑스 혁명기를 전후한 로코코 미술, 신고전주의 미술, 낭만주의 미술의 대표 작가 와토 앵그르, 들라크로아를 선정하여 그들의 회화에 나타난 복식을 유형별, 시대별로 구분하였다. 루이 15세 시대를 화려하게 장식한 로코코 미술의 특징은 실리주의적 쾌적함을 추구하는 동시에 형태면에서는 바로크의 생기, 장중한 중압감을 더욱 세련되게 하여 흐르는 듯하고 경쾌하며 춤추는 듯한 선과 우아한 여성미를 지니고 있다. 로코코 미술의 세련되고 우아하며 여성적인 취향은 복식에 그대로 반영되고 있다. 환상적인 거대한 머리 모양과 풍성하게 부풀린 스커트, 다양한 장식이 로코코 미술의 귀족 취미를 나타낸다. 18세기는 1800년에 끝난 것이 아니라 1789년에 끝났다는 말이 있듯이 프랑스 혁명은 모든 정치, 경제, 사회, 문화면에서 근대로 향하는 출발점이었으며 근대 복식이 시작되는 기점이다. 계몽주의 철학, 과학의 발달, 산업의 기계화, 자본주의에 의한 경제적 발달 또한 복식의 근대화를 가속화 시킨 요인으로 작용했다. 특히 산업혁명으로 인한 섬유공업의 기계화는 면직물을 중심으로 발달하였다. 신고전주의 미술 사조는 고대 그리이스, 로마를 모델로 형태를 중시한 단순미를 추구하였다. 이는 합리적, 이성적인 프랑스 혁명의 정신과도 합치되는 것이었다. 복식에도 고대 그리이스와 로마를 모방한 직선적이고 단순한 실루엣이 등장하게 되었다. 신고전주의의 형식성, 합리성에 반기를 들고 나타난 낭만주의는 보다 자유롭고 감정적인 것을 추구했다. 미술에 있어서는 형태보다는 색채가 중시되고 운동감과 작가의 내면 세계가 표현되었다. 이러한 낭만주의 미술의 영향은 복식에도 나타났다. 거대한 소매로 어깨를 강조하고 허리는 작게하고 스커트는 부풀린 곡선적 실루엣이 그것이다. 주름이나 레이스 장식도 애용되어 귀족적, 환상적 분위기를 주었다. 어느 시대에나 복식이 그 시대의 문학, 미술 사조의 영향을 받아왔지만 프랑스 혁명기는 이러한 현상이 가장 두드러진 시기라고 할 수 있다. 프랑스 혁명으로 인한 혼란의 결과로 프랑스는 남성 패션에 있어서의 지도적 위치를 영국에게 내어주게 되었으며 현대 양?과 같은 판타롱이 등장하게 된 계기가 되었다.;The purpose of this thesis is to study the influence of art on co s fumes from the eighteenth century to the beginning of the nineteenth century. The main current of art during this period can be characterized as Rococo, Neo-classicism, and Romanticism. I have chosen three French painters (Antoine Watteau, Dominique Ingres and Eugene Delacroix) and tried to show how influential their paintings were on styles of costumes. During Louis XV's reign, Rococo art, with its graceful and feminine beauty and refined taste, was at its height. The Rococo influence can be recognized in the delightful line, voluminous skirts and rich decorations. French Revolution marked the beginning a new era not only in political, economic and social systems, but also in the development of modern costumes. Industrial Rovolution, especially the mechanization of textile industry accelerated the modernization of costumes. Neo-classicism, following the Greek and Roman tradition put more emphasis on the form and tried to find and create beauty in simplicity. This trend coincides with the rational spirit of french Revolution. The silhoutte of this period became simple and straight. As a revolt against the formalism and rationalism of Neo-classicism, Romanticism pursued more liberal and sensational beauty. Color became the more important element than form in art. Costumes with big shoulder and slim waistline were in fashion, and pleats or lace were used to produce noble ana fancy atmosphere. French Revolution had the most remarkable influence on the costume throughout the entire history of fashion.
