HIV/AIDS 감염인 남성의 사회적응에 영향을 미치는 요인 연구

Abstract

This study was designed to investigate the level of personal factor (self-efficacy), social factors(social support, social stigma), HIV/AIDS- related factors and demographic factors and to evaluate the relations between these factors and social adjustment of people living with HIV/AIDS(PLWHA) and influences of these factors on social adjustment of PLWHA. The results of this study are summarized as following. As for the factors influencing social adjustment of PLWHA, both of social factors, social support and social stigma, and income and occupation among demographic factors were shown to be influential. In particular, social support was the most helpful single factor compared with others in social adjustment of PLWHA. Self-efficacy, which had been expected to substantially influential, was not shown to influence social adjustment of PLWHA in regression analysis, even though there was a statistically significant positive correlation between self-efficacy and social adjustment of PLWHA. This can be interpreted as other strong factors kept self-efficacy from influencing social adjustment of PLWHA when a study was designed with controlling other factors. On the other hand, social stigma was shown to influence social adjustment of PLWHA, even though there was not a statistically significant correlation with social adjustment of PLWHA. This result means influence of social stigma on social adjustment of PLWHA becomes greater when other factors are involved simultaneously. The level of social adjustment of PLWHA varied with respect to demographic factors except age such as level of education, occupation and income. Occupation and income were shown to influence social adjustment of PLWHA. In summary, social adjustment of PLWHA was confirmed to get better with more sensitive perception of social support, occupation, higher income and less sensitive perception of social stigma, with social support being the most important. The level of social adjustment of PLWHA varied with respect to level of education, occupation and level of income.;본 연구는 HIV/AIDS 감염인의 개인적 요인(자기효능감), 환경적 요인(사회적 지지, 사회적 낙인), HIV/AIDS 질병 관련 특성(치료약투약유무, 유병기간, 자조집단활동유무, 질병인식수준)과 인구사회학적 특성(연령, 소득수준, 직업, 교육수준)의 수준을 알아보고 각각의 변수들과 HIV/AIDS 감염인의 사회적응과의 관계 및 이들 독립변수들이 HIV/AIDS 감염인의 사회적응에 미치는 영향력을 양적인 접근 방법을 통해 분석해 보고자 한다. 본 연구 결과를 토대로 HIV/AIDS 감염인의 사회적응을 돕고, 적응 요인을 확대시킬 수 있는 사회복지 실천방안을 모색하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 본 연구 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. HIV/AIDS 감염인의 사회적응에 영향을 미치는 요인으로는 환경적 요인으로 설정했던 사회적지지, 사회적 낙인이 모두 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 더불어 인구사회학적 특성인 소득수준과 직업이 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 사회적 지지는 다른 요인에 비해 HIV/AIDS 감염인의 사회적응에 가장 강력하게 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 요인은 나타났다. 본 연구에서 HIV/AIDS 감염인의 사회적응에 중요한 영향을 미칠 것이라고 생각했던 개인적 요인인 자기효능감은 HIV/AIDS 감염인의 사회적응에 통계적으로 유의미한 정적 상관관계를 가지고 있는 것으로 나타났으나, 인과관계를 알아보는 회귀분석 결과 HIV/AIDS 감염인의 사회적응에 영향을 미치지는 않는 것으로 조사되었다. 이는 여러 다른 요인들을 통제하여 설계하였을 경우 다른 강력한 요인들에 의하여 HIV/AIDS 감염인의 사회 적응에 영향을 미치지 못하는 것으로 해석할 수 있으며, 자기효능감에 따른 HIV/AIDS 감염인의 사회적응은 좀 더 심도 있는 연구가 필요하다고 보인다. 그에 비해, 환경적 요인 중의 하나인 사회적 낙인의 경우 HIV/AIDS 감염인의 사회적응과는 통계적으로 유의미한 상관관계를 나타내지는 않았으나, 회귀분석을 통해 HIV/AIDS 감염인의 사회적응에 영향을 미치는 요인으로 나타났다. 이는, 다른 요인들을 통제하여 똑같은 조건으로 설계하여 HIV/AIDS 감염인의 사회적응에 미치는 영향을 보았을 때 다른 요인들이 함께 작용할 때 사회적 낙인이 가중된다는 것으로 풀이할 수 있다. 그 외, 인구사회학적 특성인 연령, 교육수준, 직업, 소득수준 중 연령을 제외한 요인들 즉, 교육수준에 따라, 직업에 따라, 소득수준에 따라 HIV/AIDS 감염인의 사회적응 수준에는 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 직업과 소득수준은 HIV/ AIDS 감염인의 사회적응에는 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 결론적으로, 본 연구의 가설 검증을 통해 HIV/AIDS 감염인의 사회적응은 사회적 지지에 대한 지각정도가 높을수록, 직업이 있을수록, 소득수준이 높을수록, 사회적 낙인에 대한 지각 정도가 낮을수록 사회적응이 높아지는 것으로 확인되었고 그 중 가장 강력한 영향을 미치는 것은 사회적지지로 나타났다. 그리고, HIV/AIDS 감염인의 사회적응 수준은 소득수준에 따라, 직업에 따라, 교육수준에 따라 차이가 있는 것으로 검증되었다.
