강강술래의 춤연구

Abstract

본 논문은 중요무형문화재 제8호인 강강술래에 대하여 무용학적 면에서의 연구를 시도한 것이다. 강강술래는 상고시대의 농경적제례의식의 공동가무에서 비롯되었다고 할 수 있는 집단무용으로서 세시풍속의 하나로 부녀자들에 의하여 추어져온 아름다운 민속무용이다. 강강술래의 춤에 관한 연구는 상고시대부터 이어져 내려온 우리나라 민속춤의 일반적 특성을 밝히는데 중요한 의의가 있다. 동시에 강강술래의 무용적 특성을 연구 개발하여 진정한 의미의 우리나라 민속무용으로 정립하는데 이러한 연구가 필요하다고 본다. 본 논문의 연구방법은 해남 우수영과 진도지방의 강강술래를 연구대상으로 기존의 연구자료들을 정리하여 보고, 현지 조사를 통하여 무보작성을 시도 하였으며 각 형태별로 춤사위를 분석함과 동시에 유사한 형태의 다른 집단적 민속무용과 놀이등을 비교 서술 하였다. 이러한 연구를 통하여 해남과 진도지방 강강술래의 구성과 진행절차 및 복색등의 차이점을 알 수 있었다. 춤사위의 형태별 분류를 통해서는 강강술래가 단순한 원무형태의 춤외에 남생아 놀아라, 고사리 꺽기, 청어엮기, 청어풀기, 지와밟기, 문열어라, 쥔쥐새끼놀이, 가마등등, 지장장, 개고리타령, 등의 다양한 놀이가 부수적으로 행해지고 있음을 보았다. 특히 본 논문에서 비교 서술한 그러한 집단무용과 강강술래가 그 형태나 기능으로 볼때 생활적이고 축제적이며, 비전문가인 일반민중에 의해 행해지는 놀이적 유형의 춤들로서 우리나라 민속무용의 특징을 잘 반영하고 있다고 하겠다. 한편, 이러한 형태의 집단무용들이 강강술래와 같은 원무형태를 많이 내포하고 있어 이러한 원형적 요소는 우리나라 집단 민속무용에 있어서 전형적 양식의 하나로 보아진다. 강강술래의 원무는 滿月과 여성과 풍요의 기원으로 이어지는 상징의미를 갖는다고 할 수 있고, 각 춤들도 그 형태에 따라 상징적인 의미를 갖는다. 기능적인 면에서는 공동체의 결속이라는 점에서의 사회적기능과,춤이 지닌 오락성과 부녀자들만의 축제적 놀이로서의 오락적기능이 있으며, 원무 형태의 주술적 상징의미로 볼때 종교적 기능이있다고하겠다 춤의 특징적인 면으로는 ① 순수한 여성만의 춤으로 힘찬 율동이 있고 ② 하체 중심으로 발동작이 다양하다. ③ 손을 잡고 이루어지는 특이한 동작이 있다. ④ 摸擬적이고 풍자적이며 놀이성이 강하다. ⑤ 악기의 반주없이 선도자의 지휘에 따라 춤의 변화가 자유롭다. ⑥ 단순한 원무를 반복하여 흥을 고조 시킴과 동시에 공동체 의식을 고취시키는 효과가 있다. 결론적으로 강강술래의 춤에 대한 연구는 원시적 형태를 지닌 이러한 유형의 민속춤이 점점 더 그 원형을 잃어가는 이 시점에서 그러한 민속무용들의 공통점과 특징적 요소들을 밝혀 전통의 원형적 복구와 우리의 민속춤이 지닌 특징적 요소들을 바탕으로 한 민속무용의 체계화 작업의 하나로서 매우 중요한 의의를 갖는다고 보겠다.;This thesis intends to study the Dance of Kanggang soolae - Important intangible cultural properties, No.8 - in terms of Dancing. Kang gang soolae is a kind of a group dance derived form common songs and dance in aggricultural service ceremony of remote antiquity and a beautiful folk dance which woman have danced as one of the new-year customs. The study of kang gang soolae is significant in finding out general characteristics of our folk dances handed down from the ancient times and this kind of study, at the same time in necessary to establish it as our native folk dance in the true sense of the word by investigating and developing its characteristics. As an approach for this thesis, the researcher made kang gang soolae in the regions of Hanam Woosuyoung, Jindo the subject of study and arranged the existing materials on it. Also, the reacher tried to draw up the genealogy of dance through field work and analyzed each dancing movement and compared Kang gang soolae with other similar group folk dance and game. Through this study, we could understand its difference between Haenam and Jindo in composition, progression, clothes, etc. According to classification of dancing movement, Kang gang soolae is not just a circle dance, besides, many games such as 'Namsaenga, nolara,' 'Gosariggeoggi,' 'Chung-er yeoggi,' 'Chung-er Pulgi' 'Jiwa Balgi,' 'Mun yeoleora,' 'Jwin jwi sae ggi nori,' 'Gamadeungdeung,' 'Jijangjang,' 'Gaegori taryeong,' etc, are performed accompanyingly. In particular, group dance and Kang gang soolae compared in this thesis are ordinary and festival dance which common people have played in terms of forms and functions. Also, as this kind of group dances contain the form of circle dance like Kang gang soolae, it appears that this round-shape factor is one of typical forms of our group folkdances, The circle dance of Kang gang soolae has the symbolic meaning of full moon, women and supplication for abundance and, each of its dances has particular meaning according to its form. In the functual aspect, it has social function of the union of the community, recreational and religious function. The features of Kang gang soolae are as follows; 1. It is a dance for women alone and a dynamic dance with rhythmic movement. 2. It centers around the movement of the lower part of the body and the movement of the feet is various. 3. There are peculiar movements played hand in hand. 4. It is imitative, satiric and playful. 5. The variation of the dance is free to the leading of a guide without the accompaniment of a musical instrument. In conclusion, in that this thesis on Kang gang soolae, in these days when this kind of folk dances which has primitive form are getting disappeared, tries to find out common features and restores our tradition and organizes Korean folk dance based on characteristic elements of our folk dance, it has a considerable significance as one of those works.
