객관적 대상을 통한 추상이미지 연구 : 채소의 확대된 형(形)을 중심으로

Abstract

1839년 이후로 사진은 줄곧 소통과 표현의 원천적 수단이었다. 과학이며 동시에 예술이기도 한 사진술은, 수공적 기술로 대체하면서 독자적 예술형식으로 눈부시게 성장하게 되었고 눈부신 과학의 발달과 함께 사진술에도 커다란 기술적 진보가 찾아오게 되었다. 사람들은 점점 더 의사소통의 매체로서뿐 아니라 표현 매체로서의 사진술에 관심을 돌리고 되었고 시각예술로서 사진이 차지한 영역은 더욱 넓혀지고 다양화되어 새로운 시각세계의 경험이 가능하게 되었다. 즉 현실적 이미지를 있는 그대로 재현하고 기록하는 기록적 매체 에서 모든 예술이 고유하는 표현방식과 방법들을 도입하여 독자적인 영역을 구축한 표현적 매체 로 변환되어 온 것이다. 본 연구는 이러한 흐름 안에서 사진의 영역확장과 자유로운 표현방법의 시도를 이루게 한 바우하우스(Bauhaus)실험과 리얼리티의 표현을 강조한 신즉믈주의의 형식에 근거하여, 채소라는 객관적 대상의 확대된 형(形)을 중심으로 생명의 이미지를 추상적으로 표현하고자하였다. 인간의 삶은 자연과 밀접하게 연결되어있으며 자연은 우리의 삶 주변에 항상 존재하며 인간은 그 속에서 조화로운 질서를 인식하고, 그 질서 속에서 끊임없이 자신의 존재와 생명을 확인한다. 이것은 인간 역시 대자연의 질서 속에서 생성되고 소멸되어 가는 자연의 일부분이기 때문이다. 본인은 시간의 흐름 속에 던져진 조그만 점에 불과할지 모를 존재의 작은 움직임을 역동적인 생성의 모습으로 파악하고 이를 외형 그대로가 아닌 유기적 형태 구성과 역동적 생명감, 율동감으로 표출되는 생명의 이미지로 추상화하고자한 것이다. 추상적인 형태란 자연적인 형태가 변화되거나 축소되어진 왜곡된 형태이다. 이 형태의 근원은 인지되어질 수 있지만 다른 어떤 것으로 변화되어진 것으로 이것은 보통 모든 본질적인 요소들이 생략되거나 단순화됨으로써 만들어지는 것이다. 본 연구자는 생명체가 지니는 다양한 형태의 아름다움을 깊이 있게 관찰하고 확대하여 단순화되어 가는 과정에서 그 속에 내재된 자연의 질서와 리듬감을 소재로 여러 가지 조형의 가능성을 발견하고, 새로운 영상표현의 시대에 무한한 표현의 가능성으로의 사진의 창조적 표현 영역을 넓혀 보고자하였다.; Since 1839, the photograph has been a fundamental means for human communication and expression. As photography, which is art as well as science, has been replaced with handiwork technique, it has grown dramatically into an unique artistic form and has accepted technological innovation, with the brilliant advance of science. In addition, as many people take an increasing interest in photography as a medium of expression rather than a medium of communication more and more and the area which the photograph occupies as the visual art has broadened out generally and diversified, it has become available of experience to a new visual world. In other words, it has changed from a recording medium which reproduces and records real images themselves to an expressive(or expressing) medium which establishes its own original area by introducing expressions and their techniques shared by all arts. This study attempted to express abstractly the image of life focused on expanded shapes of objective subjects, vegetables, on the basis of the Bauhaus experiment which achieved the area expansion of the photograph and free expressions in such flow and the Neue Sachlichkeit which emphasized expressions of the reality. Human life is connected closely with nature, nature always exists around human life and human beings identify constantly their own existence and life, recognizing harmonious system within it. That is, human beings also appear and disappear in the Mother Nature system as part of it. This study understood insignificant motions of existence just like a little spot thrown in the passage of time as dynamic forms of creation, and tried to abstract the image of life expressed as not the outward shape itself, but organic composition of form and dynamic vitality or rhythm. An abstract form indicates a distorted form which the natural shape is modified or simplified. Although the origin of the abstract form changed into any other shape may be recognized, it is usually made by omitting or simplifying all essential elements. This study examined deeply various forms of beauties a living thing has, found the potentialities of several forms with materials of system and rhythm of nature which is immanent in the process of expanding and simplifying them and tried to broaden the creative expressing area of the photograph as a possibility of infinite expression in the current times to express new images.
