사진을 통한 여성의 이미지 연구 : 심층적 자아의 표현을 중심으로

Abstract

선천적인 생리적 성차는 사회 문화적으로 강화되어 남성다움, 여성다움의 고정관념으로 정립되며 한 사회가 형성한 성 특성에 대한 고정관념은 개인의 특수성을 말살시키고 개인을 남자다움, 여자다움의 틀 속에 끼워 맞추었다. 본 연구의 목적은 무의식의 여성심리이론에 접근하여 그 내용을 고찰해 봄으로써 본 작품과의 연관성에 관해 검토해 보고 작품의 내용적인 측면에 이론적 근거를 제시하려는 것이다. 또한, 여성주의 미술에서의 여성표현을 통해 여성주의 미술가들이 작품을 제작한 다양한 시각들과 그 시각들을 통해 표현되어 질 수 있는 가능성을 살피고자 하였다. 작품제작의 동기와 근본적인 문제를 함께 공유하는 여성적 이론의 연구를 통해 성차별적인 가치에 대한 소극적인 문제인식 의 단계에서 적극적인 문제해결 단계로의 발전가능성을 타진해 보려 하였다. 본 작품제작을 통해 의도하는 바는 현대여성에게 있어 점차 문제시되고 있는 자아실현의 권리를 자율적으로 결정하는데 있어서 야기되는 현실의 문제점을 극복하고자 하는 여성의 의지를 표명하는 것이었다. 이러한 문제점의 근원은 보편적으로 여성들에게 강조되어 왔던 가족의 개념과 혼인 내에서의 성차별 적인 역할분담에 있었다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점들로 여성의 무의식에 의해 나타나는 여성의 심리상태를 표현하고자 한다. 창조활동에 있어서 무의식의 이론을 바탕으로 하여 본 연구자의 내면세계속에 자리잡고 있는 또다른 자아로서의 나의 시각적 이미지로 나타내어 보려고 한다. 이는 여성의 실존적 문제에 지대한 관심을 보였던 시몬느 드 보봐르의 시각을 통해 현대여성에게 적용될 수 있는 왜곡된 또다른 자아의 이미지를 갖고 스스로의 자화상을 실현할 수 있는 자율적 여성의 비전을 제시하고자 하였다. 전통적 문화의 규범속에 억압된 여성의 콤플렉스에서 나타나는 여성의 남성사회적 가족의 종속성으로 인해 현대여성의 현실적인 문제점을 보다 직접적으로 대변해 줄 수 있을 것이다. 자신의 가치를 인간의 내면세계에 잠재되어 있는 욕망은 내적인 심리조건이나 사회적 규범에 의해 억압되어짐으로서 무의식적인 변형과 왜곡을 필연적으로 거치게 된다. 여기서 예술을 잠재의식의 표현이자 억압된 욕구가 표출되는 통로라고 한다면, 예술의 창작과정은 욕구대상이 충족되는 표출된 메커니즘 으로 범주화 될 수 있다. 이러한 내용을 토대로 한 작가와 형식상의 유사한 표현을 한 작가들의 작품을 중심으로 검토함으로서 앞으로의 작업에 있어서 내적 표현의 사진적 해석에 진일보 할 수 있는 계기로 삼고자 하였다. 작품제작의 시각적 측면은 여성을 모티브로 한 왜곡되어진 여성의 이미지를 표현한 것이다. 본 연구에서는 여성의 이미지 형상의 유형으로서 사진에서의 누드표현에 이론적으로 고찰을 하였으며, 여체의 누드표현의 경우 역설적 표현방법으로 신체를 그로데스크하게 표현하는바 여성주의적 시각을 통해 분석함으로서 과거 누드작품에서 시각적으로 아름답게 보이기 위한 수단으로서 벌거벗은 여성의 의미와는 다르게, 감상되기 위해 벗겨진 것이 아니라 벗어버린 행위자로서 여성을 표현하려했던 점을 밝히고자 한다. 그리고 변형되어진 대상은 시각적 흥미로움을 제공하여 작가의 주관적인 조형의지나 상상력을 반영하며, 왜곡된 여성의 형상들은 나 즉 여성 의 심리상태나 심리적 불안감등의 모습을 보여주고자 하였다. 남성 중심적인 가부장적 사회구조 속에서 차별적으로 고정되어 버린 성의 가치 속에서 살고있는 여성의 입장을 인식하는 여성주의적 시각을 통해 자신 삶에 있어서 자율적인 의지를 지닌 현대 여성의 모습을 표현하고자 하였다. 더불어 이를 통해 앞으로 진행될 작업의 방향을 새로운 여성상으로 발전시키기 위한 계기로 삼고자 한다.; Natural sex difference is culturally strengthened, and it is fixed as masculinity and feminity. The fixed concept of sex characteristics formed by society liquidates individuality and put individuals into the frame of masculinity and feminity. The purpose of this study approaches theories of women in unconsciousness and examines its contents. Also this study reviews their relation to this work, and suggests a theoretical basis in the aspect of contents. Also, this study examines various views of feministic artists through expression of women in feministic art, and also the possibility of expressing those diverse views, Through studying feministic studies that share the motive and original issue of creation, I tried to see the possibility of developing the step of passive recognition of a problem to that of active problem-solving . The intention of this work is to express women s will to overcome problems in reality raised in autonomously deciding rights of self-realization. The origin of this problem lies in the concept of family that was universally emphasized to women, and the discriminating gender roles in marriage life. This study is intended to express women s state of mind that appears in women s unconsciousness. Based on the theory of unconsciousness, I tried to express another self residing in my inner world into visual image. Through the vision of Simone de Beauvoir who were interested in existential issues of women, I tried to suggest vision of autonomous women that can realize self-portrait with distorted image of another self, which can be applied to modern women. Women s subordination to man dominating society presented in women s complex repressed by traditional cultural norms will be more directly represented. Having their desires in the inside world of human beings restrained, they must suffer the distortion and transformation of unconsciousness. If art here is called a path of repressed desires and expression of potential consciousness, the process of art creation can be categorized into expressed mechanism that satisfies a desired subject. By reviewing artists taking the content above as a basis and their work, I tried to have the opportunity of making advancement in translating inner expression in the aspect of photography. The visual aspect of creation is to express the distorted image of women. This study examines nudity expression in photos as a type of women s image. In case of women s nudity expression, I tried to identify that grotesque expression of women s body as a way of paradoxical method is different from naked women in nudity work of the past, and it is expressed as women taking off the clothes, not taken off. Also, the distorted object provides visual interest and it reflects imagination of an artist s subjective modelling. It is intended to show me , that is, women s state of mind or psychological anxiety. Through feministic vision of women who live in the fixed value of man-dominating society, I tried to express modern women who have autonomous will in their lives. Also, I tried to make is as a step toward future work for new image of women.
