기호학적 접근방법에 의한 전시디자인 모형 사례 연구 : L기업 복식박물관을 중심으로

Abstract

박물관은 역사적으로 가치있는 조형예술을 보존하고 계승하는 기관으로서 중요한 의미를 지니며, 인류가 이룩한 정신문화와 물질문명을 표현하는 문화공간으로서 한나라의 문화수준을 측정할 수 있는 장소이다. 고도 성장하는 기술의 발달과 사회변화로 박물관 전시기능은 표현능력의 확장과 적극적이고 자유로운 관객참여 형태의 전시형식이 도입되고 있다. 효과적인 전시활동이란 박물관이 행할 수 있는 교육적 활동이나 국민의 교양과 계몽활동의 중추가 되는 것으로 박물관이 스스로 조사연구가 활발히 수행되고 있다 할지라도 그 결과가 일반시민과의 유대를 갖지 못하고 동떨어진 즉, 전시하는 한 방법으로서 공중과의 접촉이 없다면 교육적 활동이란 없는 것이나 다름없다고 할 수 있다. 이 교육적 활동이란 먼저 전시활동을 바탕으로 하여 이룩되는 것이며, 그런 의미에서 전시활동이 없는 박물관이란 있을 수 없는 일이며 박물관의 존재의미도 없다고 할 수 있다. 이제 21세기 박물관이란 생활과 역사와 문화에 대한 체험의 장소로서 인정하게 되었고 자료를 통한 교육의 장소로써 인정하게 되었고 그에 따르는 기대도 점점 더 크게 요구되고 있는 것이다. 교육적인 성과를 항상 유의해야 한다고 해서 지나치게 설명적인 전시가 곧 필요하다는 것은 결코 아니며 결국 전시물과 전시관람객사이의 커뮤니케이션이 잘 되느냐의 문제인 것이다. 이러한 배경으로 본 연구는 커뮤니케이션의 학문인 기호학을 이론적으로 고찰하고, 기호의 구조체계의 적용을 통한 복식박물관의 환경디자인안을 제안하고자한다. 기호학의 구조체계를 이해하고 특히, 기표와 기의구조를 적용하여 디자인함으로써 예술로서의 환경, 커뮤니케이션수단으로서의 전시시스템을 제시하고자 한다. 이는 기호학의 개념과 특징을 해석하고 그 구조체계를 전시공간에 적용함으로써 새로운 접근방법으로서의 가치를 지닌다. 본 연구는 다음과 같이 구성되어있다. 제1장에서는 연구의 배경과 목적, 범위와 방법을 서술하였다. 제2장에서는 기호학의 개념과 구조, 의미작용과 커뮤니케이션의 특성에 대해 이론적으로 고찰하였다. 제3장에서는 2장의 기호학적 관점을 바탕으로 기호의 전시공간 특히 박물관을 사례조사하였다. 제4장에서는 연구대상으로 복식박물관을 선정하고 박물관의 기능과 공간을 분석하였으며 복식박물관의 기의를 움직임으로 보고 기호학적 접근방법인 기표와 기의의 구조체계와 통합체적인 조합의 원리를 적용하여 디자인 개념을 도출하였다. 다음 단계에서는 기본적인 조형개념의 기호학적인 의미를 도출하여 대상지에 다양한 볼륨스터디를 통해 적용해보았다. 구체적인 디자인 모형사례가 연구자가 의도하고자 했던 의미가 전달되었는지를 그레마스의 기호사각형에 근거하여 검증하였다. 본 연구를 통해 연구자는 전시공간의 커뮤니케이션을 극대화하기 위해서 그 접근 방법으로 기호학적 방법이 타당함을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구는 전시공간에 있어서 커뮤니케이션이 잘 되기 위한 새로운 환경디자인 접근 방법으로서 의의를 가진다. ; A museum plays an important role of preserving and inheriting historically valuable formative arts. It is also an important place that not only moral and material civilization established by a human kind is represented as a cultural space but also the nation s cultural level is evaluated. Due to the high growth of technology development and the change of society, the expansion of expression and the positively and freely participation of audience is introduced into the exhibition function of museum. Effective exhibition activity means the educational activity for people. Even if there is an active research for this in a museum, If the result has nothing to do with people, there is no educational activity without the contact with the public as one of a method of exhibition. This educational activity establishes based on exhibition activity. It means that any museums cannot be existed without exhibition activity. A museum in the 21st century is recognized as the educational place through an information and experiential place of life, history and culture. The expectation for a museum is required more and more. It is not necessary too much explain for the exhibition because of the educational result. The point is how good the communication between the exhibition and participants is. This research studies semiology theoretically which is a part of science of communication and proposes the environment design model of costume museum applied the structure system of sign. Understanding the structure system of semiology, especially applying the system of signifier and signified for design, it also presents the exhibition system of art for environment and communication method. It creates the new approach method applying the structure system to exhibition place with understanding the concept and characteristic of semiology. This research is composed as follows; On the 1st chapter, a background and a purpose, a scope and a method was descrived. On the 2nd chapter, a concept and a structure of semiology, a characteristic of signification and communication was studied theoretically. On the 3rd chapter, an exhibition place of sign based on the semiology s point of view on chapter 2 especially a museum was researched as a case. On the 4th chapter, custom museum was decided as a research object, analyzed the capacity and space of museum, and then produced a design concept applying a principle of a syntagm union and the structure system of signifier and signified which is a semiotic approach considering signified of custome museum as a movement. The next stage, a semiotic mean of basic formative concept was produced and then applied a various volume study to the site. A researcher verified the translation of mean that she/he is intend to research definite design model case based on Gremas carre semiotique. A researcher could realize that semiotic approach method is appropriate to maximize communication of exhibition space through the research. This research is significant as the new environment design approach method to communicate better in the exhibition space.
