현대인의 소외된 내면세계에 관한 표현 연구

Abstract

21세기 급속도로 변하고 있는 현대 문명 속의 현대인들은 주체성과 정신적, 정서적 경험의 자리를 상실하여 방황하고 있다. 물질과 정보의 홍수 속에서 자신의 존재조차 잊어버리고 사는 것이 우리의 일상이기 때문이다. 이러한 현상으로 현대인들은 불확실한 미래에 대한 불안감과 동시에 막연한 기대감도 가지게 되었다. 일러스트레이션의 중요한 역할 중 하나가 바로 이러한 현대사회에서의 여러 갈등과 요구들의 민감하게 반응하여 현대인들에게 새로운 각도에서 문제를 제시하거나 해답을 주는 것이라 하겠다. 일러스트레이션은 개인 예술이 아니라 사회의 단면을 보여주는 사회예술이므로 바람직한 방향으로 제작된 일러스트레이션이라면 그 독자적인 커뮤니케이션 기능을 통해 사회적 기능을 다해야 할 것이다. 따라서 자신이 하고자 하는 이야기를 효과적으로 전달하기 위한 자신만의 고유한 시각형식을 가지고 있어야 한다. 이러한 관점에서 본 연구는 역설이라는 시각적 형식을 통해 현대인의 소외된 내면 세계를 표현하려 한다. 역설적 시각 표현은 낯익은 사물들을 의외의 장소에 놓여짐으로서 시각적 충격을 유발시키고, 고정 관념에서 벗어나 공간을 비현실적, 몽환적 공간으로 나타나게 된다. 또한 이미 경험한 이미지가 전혀 다르게 변했을 때 느끼는 기이한 혼란이 새로운 세계와 친근하고 평범한 사물들이 결합으로 신비의 효과를 나타낸다. 이러한 모순된 두 개의 대립을 합일에 도달하는 역동적인 사고를 통하여 역설적인 결합으로 역설을 목적이 아니라 수단으로서 현실을 지배하는 일상적인 사고의 파괴수단으로 사용하여 표현하려 한다. 본 논문의 이론적 배경에서는 현대인의 소외에 관한 시대적 사회적 환경과 소외의 원인에 대해 알아보고, 역설의 개념과 문학, 음악, 회화에서의 표현들을 살펴보았다. 작품제작 및 분석에서는 제작내용과 의도를 밝히고, 역설을 토대로 본인의 작품에 나타난 제작과정에 대해 살펴보았다. 본 작품은 현대 문명의 절박한 위기 상황에 인간의 존재성 상실, 소외, 고독감과 같은 내면세계를 절제된 역설적 시각 표현을 사용하여 의미를 강조하고 자신의 정체성을 다시 한번 생각하고 찾을 수 있도록 표현하였다. 이제까지 살펴본 바와 같이 본 연구는 현대인의 소외된 내면 세계가 역설이라는 하나의 시각형식을 가지고 개인적 경험이나 기억, 성향을 바탕으로 작품을 통해 표현되었다. 본 연구가 현대인의 정체성과 재인식의 중요성을 다시 한번 생각할 수 있는 계기가 되길 희망한다. ; In the 21st centurty, modern people who are in the sudden change of modern civilization wander by reason of the loss of the subjectivity and the spiritual and emotional experience. The reason is that people even forget their existence in the flood of information. Under the circumstances they have been given not only the sense of unease but also the vague expectation for the uncertain future. One of important roles of Illustration is that it presents the public the question by a new viewpoint and gives them the answer with the response of complications and requests in modern society. Illustration is the social art, not the private art, so it should do the social function through the independent communication if it was produced with the desirable taste. And illustrators should be equipped with their characteristic visual expression forms to communicate ideas which they want to express. In such opinions, the research shows the isolated inside world of modern people. The paradoxical expression induces a visual impulse caused by situation that familiar objects are put on unexpected places and makes the space unreal and fantastic out of the fixed idea. And it shows the effect of the mystery caused by the combination of familiar and ordinary objects, because the strange confusion can make people feel the new experience when the existing image is perfectly changed. Through the vital thinking such as a mind which makes two conflicting things into a unity, it uses the paradox as means not an object for destroying the ordinary thought which dominates the actual with the paradoxical combination through the contradiction of proposition and the opposite one. In the part of the theoretical background, the historical and social circumstances of the isolation of modern people and its cause and the concept of the paradox and the such expression in literature, music and paintings will be examined. In the work and its analysis, the contents and intent of work and the process of work will be observed. The artist of the work is appealing to the liberation of the fixed idea and the freedom from the social suppression in a friendly tone, and emphasizing on the meaning of it, with the moderate paradoxical expression, which is about the loss of the existence, the alienation and the isolation of people in circumstances of the crisis of the modern civilization. As the above, the research shows how the isolated inside world of modern people is expressed by the personal experience, recollection or inclination with the paradoxical visual mode in the works and will be the chance that the importance of the true character of modern people can be recognized.
