브람스 Piano Sonata Op.5 에 대한 연구

Abstract

낭만주의(Romanticism)는 프랑스 대혁명 이후의 사회적, 정치적 격변기를 배경으로 자유로운 인간의 감정과 개성, 상상력을 중시한 문화적 동향의 운동이다. 고정주의(Classicism)가 이성, 객곽성, 합리성을 중시한데 대하여, 낭만주의 음악은 개성적 색조를 강조하면서 인가의 느낌과 감정을 표현하였다. 그리고 문학 및 미술과 같은 주변 예술과의 다각적인 조화를 추구하였다. 브람스(Johaness Brahms, 1833-1897)는 19세기 낭만음악시대의 절정기에 활동한 작곡가이다. 그는 낭만파 음악의 감정 표출을 고전파 음악의 전통적 형식미와 성공적으로 결부시킴으로써 독자적 음악세계를 구축하였다. 본 논문에서는 낭만주의 피아노 소나타의 대표적인 곡 주의 하나인 브람스의 Piano Sonata Op.5를 분석·연구함으로써 브람스 피아노 음악의 특징을 이해하려고 한다. 아울러 그가 속해 있었떠 ㄴ낭만주의가 어떠한 배경과 경향으로 브람스의 음악세계에 영향을 주었는지를 고찰하고자 한다. 브람스의 Piano Sonata Op.5의 제1악장은 소나타 형식, 제 2악장은 복합 3부 형식, 제 3악장은 ABA의 스케르쪼 형식을 보이고 제 4악장은 인터메쪼, 제 5악장은 론도 형식으로 이루어져있다. 이 곡의 중요한 특징으로는 각 악장의 주요 주제가 제 1악장으 리듬적 포르테(forte) 모티브(motiv)와 서정적 모티브에서 파생되어 악장간의 유기적으로 연관되어 있는 점이다. 논문 전반부에서는 낭만주의 시대의 특징과 함께 브람스의 생애와 그의 음악을 연구하며, 후반부에서는 전 악장에 걸친 작품의 전개와 각 악장의 분석연구를 통해 브람스 피아노 음악에 대한 올바른 해석과 연주 향상에 목적을 두었다. ; Romanticism is characterized by many works of literature, painting, music, architecture, driticism, and philosophy in Western civilization over a period in the nineteenth century. Romanticism was the major cultural movement focused on the expression of human emotions, imagination, and personality. Among the characteristic attitudes of Romanticism were the appreciation of the beauties of nature, the general exaltation of emotion over reason, the heightened examination of human personality and its moods, the new wiew of the artist as a supremely individual creator, whose creative spirit is more important than strict adherence to formal rules and traditional procedures. In this thesis, I attempted to study the psition and characteristics of Johaness Brahms (1833-1897) in the 19th century romanticism by studying his life, cultural and historical backgrounds and analysing his piano sonata op.5. Brahms was a composer who successfully blended his lyrical and romantic music ideas with the structure and form of German Classicism, finally establishing his distinct styles. Piano sonata op.5 is the representative piece showing characteristics of Brahms s Romanticism. The major characteristics of piano sonata Op.5 is the close correlation of main motif and melody over the whole movements. This sonata shows the clear examples of Classicism such as the adoption of classical sonata form, the usage of cyclic key elements. In addition to those classical aspects, he successfully incorporated romantic elements such as lyrical melody based on literature, irregularity of phrase progression, and unique thythmic materials.
