열매 이미지로 은유된 자아표현 연구

Abstract

자연 안의 모든 생명체는 스스로 자연의 과정을 내포한다. 인간도 자연의 존재이므로 그 안에서 생성과 소멸을 되풀이한다. 식물의 결정체인 열매 형상은 그 자체로 생명의 생성과 성장이 응축되어 있다. 본 연구에서는 열매를 은유적으로 표현하여 자아 표현을 극대화시킴으로써 생명체로서의 인간 존재를 확인하려는 데 의의가 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 열매가 함유하는 의미를 형상화하여 인간과 환경의 관계로 은유 시켜 작품으로 표현하는 데 있다. 본 연구의 내용은 열매의 상징적 의미와 열매의 생태를 연구하고 Jean Arp를 중심으로 현대 조각에서 식물image를 작품으로 표현한 작가를 살펴본다. 표현내용에서는 종자를 인간으로 보고 과실을 환경으로 은유하여 환경과 상호 작용하는 생명체로서 인간을 연구한다. 본 연구의 방법은 문헌 조사와 작품 제작 및 분석을 병행하였다. 표현대상은 열매의 종자와 과실을 인간과 환경으로 은유하여 단순화된 형상으로 나타낸다. 표현재료는 열매 image의 역동성과 mass간의 결합을 통해 느껴지는 중량감과 밀도를 위해서 철, 나무, 브론즈를 선택하였다. 표현방법은 mass의 질감과 재료의 변화를 통하여 긴장과 이완을 표현하며, 이것은 철, 나무, 브론즈 등 단일재료의 결합과 철과 나무, 나무와 브론즈 등의 이질적인 재료 사이의 결합을 통해 전체성이 확보되도록 7점으로 표현하였다. 작품 분석에서는 표현내용과 표현방법에 의하여 인간을 종자에 은유하고 외부 환경은 과실로 은유하여 표현한다. 이러한 것을 바탕으로 제작한 작품 7점을 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 재료에 있어서는 자연의 생명력을 지닌 나무를 연마하여 열매 image가 갖고 있는 근원적 생명력에 다가가려 하였고, 철은 banding 처리를 하여 mass의 육중함과 공간성을 확보한다. 브론즈는 표면을 연마하여 획득된 반사면으로 시각적인 효과를 가진다.. 형태는 열매형을 변형하여 각각의 내재된 의미에 맞게 연결하기, 끼우기, 감싸기, 연마하기 등의 방법으로 결합되어 표현되었다. 이와 같이 재료와 형태의 요소들을 각각의 기법에 따라 결합시킴으로써 자아표현을 위하여 열매를 인간에 은유 시켜 표현한다. ; All living things in nature connotate the process of creation, growth and extinction themselves. Human beings are also in nature, and they repeat creation and extinction in it. The image of fruit itself symbolizes creation and growth of life. This study lies in confirming the existence of human beings by maximizing self-expression with metaphorically presented form of fruit and expressing related works. This study expresses those transformed things through growth and combination and raises the effect of space and balance and acquisition of totalitarianism . The purpose of this study is to express human beings into a metaphorical form of fruit for self-expression. The contents of this study includes image of plants and the symbolic meaning of fruit as theoretical background. Also, this study looks at artists who express image of plants in modern sculpture, and examines human beings who have close relation with fruit and environment that interact with each other as creature in nature for self- expression. As a study method, both literature study and making and analysis of work are used. In literature study, 26 related works are selected and explained. The subjects of expression are columns and cones to effectively express the growth of seeds within fruit, and they are image of balance and space for expansion of self-expression through combination and growth of mass. Some natural materials such as iron, wood and bronze are chosen to express the symbolized form of nature. As expression methods, change of mass and materials express tension and relaxation, and combination of each iron, wood and bronze and that of the three are expressed into 7 works of art. On work analysis, 7 works that express structural relationship within form made through different materials and forms and metaphorically transformed fruit expressed as self are analysed in the aspect of modeling. The following are the results of analysis of works stated above. When it comes to material, polished wood expresses the depth of wood with warmth that has vitality of nature, and iron secures heaviness and space of mass through banding. Bronze shows visuality with reflecting aspects highlighted. The form shows closely knitted relations and dynamics between masses by connecting, and fixing fruit form. As written above, elements of material and form express fruit into human beings for self-expression by combining them with each different technique.
