신문지 재활용 기법을 통한 일상적 시간의 표현 연구

Abstract

하루의 시작은 매일 아침마다 펴보는 신문에서 시작된다. 동이 트는 아침이 아닌 신문을 펴보는 순간이 우리에게 익숙한 하루의 시작이 되는 것이다. 어제와 똑같은 오늘, 오늘과 똑같은 내일. 삶은 연속이고 반복이다. 삶 속에 시간은 의식하든 못하든 언제나 반복적으로 계속 지나간다. 이렇듯 신문은 우리의 생활에서 가장 손쉽게 접하는 일반 정보 전달지이지만 그것이 시간이 지나면 본래의 기능을 잃은 상태에 놓여짐으로 폐품이 된다. 신문 이외에도 인간에 의해 사용되고 버려진 것뿐만 아니라 한가지 목적으로 만들었으나 본래의 기능을 상실한 상태의 물건 모두가 폐품이라고 볼 수 있다. 물질의 홍수 속에 살고 있는 우리의 삶은 방대한 양의 폐품을 배출하게 되며 그에 따른 처리의 문제를 가지게 되었다. 그러나 예술이 우리의 일상적인 삶을 대변하고 표현하는 것이라고 할 때, 이러한 폐품들은 예술작품의 재료로 다시 태어날 수 있는 가능성을 가지게 된다. 일상에서 사용하고 버려진 생활주변의 소재를 표현 매체로 활용하여 예술에 반영한다면 사회와 예술을 연결시켜 표현 매체와 기법의 무한한 가능성을 제시 할 수 있을 것이다. 본 연구에서는 일상적인 삶의 시간을 생활주변에서 흔히 볼 수 있는 신문지를 이용하여 다양한 기법으로 표현하고 시각화하는데 의의가 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 일상적인 삶의 시간을 신문지를 활용하여 다양한 기법으로 표현하고 연구하는데 목적을 둔다. 본 연구의 내용은 일상적인 삶의 시간을 표현하기 위해 폐품인 신문지를 활용하여 반복과 중첩의 기법을 통해 표현하고, 작품제작에 있어서 신문지를 물에 풀어서 죽의 형태로 만든 다음 접착제와 혼합하여 붙여나가는 방법과 casting 하는 방법 그리고 두 가지 방법모두를 혼용하는 방법으로 표현하였다. 작품제작에 있어서는 철가루의 부식과 재료에 스며드는 색의 결합, 반복된 선과 공간성의 관계, 축적된 면과 덩어리와의 관계, 철판의 부식에 따라 스며드는 색채의 변화를 통해 시간의 궤적을 가시화 하기 위한 기법상의 연구가 이루어졌다. 본 연구의 기본 도구는 문헌과 작품표현 및 작품분석이다. 본 연구는 시간의 축적과 반복을 표현대상으로 하였다. 본 연구의 표현 재료는 매일 일상 속에서 접하는 신문지를 이용하였으며, 표현방법은 신문지를 물에 풀어서 죽의 형태로 만든 다음 접착제와 혼합하여 붙여나가는 방법과 casting 하는 방법 통해 나타낸 7점의 작품을 표현하였다. 본 연구에서는 조각의 재료로서 신문지를 사용함으로써 예술과 사회의 연관성을 나타내고, 현대 도시환경의 산물을 예술에 반영하여 예술의 사회성을 제시하였고, 생활주변의 소재를 표현매체로 사용함으로서 일상성을 표현하였다. 또한 재료가 가지는 한계성을 넘어 재료 확장의 가능성을 시도하였다. ; An artist consciously selects everything that common people sense in daily life, and he/she gives a meaning to it. Everything we meet in our daily lives is repeated and we easily pass it by, so not all meaning can provide impression. However, an artist looks at things with a different view. This paper lies in using newspaper we often encounter in daily life as sculpture material, and visualizing it in various techniques. The purpose of this study is to expand limits of material by using newspaper for sculpture and expressing it with various skills. The contents of this study are expression of newspaper as sculpture material with newspaper soaked in water, made into gruels form. This gruel form is made by two ways- amplifying by adhesive and casting. That is, using these two ways show corrosion of iron power, color combination of material, relation between repeated lines and space, relation between accumulated plane and mass and technical study for visualizing the trace of time through combination of material and color followed by corrosion of iron board. The basic tool of this study is literature study, work expression and analysis. The subject of this study is accumulation of time and expression of repetition. Expression materials are newspapers that we meet everyday and they are changed into creative work of art. The expression method is to combine gruel form of newspaper with adhesive to attach and to cast, and these two ways turn into 7 pieces of work. The standard of analysing work is to see if newspaper has limits being used for sculpture material and if so how it is expressed to overcome time, and this study also suggests the possibilities of future studies.
