; This thesis, examines the glass ceiling, the invisible barrier that blocks women from advancing to senior leadership positions in organizations (Catalyst, 1993), in South Korea and the United States. Methods of breaking the glass ceiling are discussed in the thesis as many women around the world are confronted with the glass ceiling. The glass ceiling might not be completely shattered in the near future but as people and companies change their mentality toward women, and opportunities are given to all qualified people, whether male or female, the end result will be a completely broken glass ceiling.-
