제직에 의한 회상 이미지 표현연구 : 인체의 부분형태 표현을 중심으로

Abstract

자신을 안다는 것은 철학적 탐구에 있어 근원적인 문제이다. 최초의 신화적 목적에서부터 첨단과학에 이르기까지 그 관심의 대상은 다양한 양상을 드러내는 가운데 내적 자아로 향하게 된다. 회상은 이러한 자신과의 관계를 재인식시키며 인간내면의 본질을 느끼게 한다. 본 연구는 인간의 삶을 통한 끊임없는 사고 속에서 존재가치를 찾기 위한 인간의 회상 이미지 표현에 관한 연구이다. 현재에 대한 시점의 정의가 불분명하다는 이분법적인 사고 속에서 인간을 회상적 존재로 이해하고, 생명의 출발점으로 돌아가려는 본능적인 모습을 표현하는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구의 이론적인 내용은 첫째로 회상에 대한 개념과 인간의 존재의미를 연결 지어 살펴보았고, 둘째로 인체의 부분요소에 나타난 조형성에 대해 고찰하였으며, 셋째로 회상 이미지를 표현한 국내외 작가들의 작품 분석의 세 부분으로 구성하였다. 연구방법으로는 문헌과 작품표현 및 작품분석을 기본도구로 하였고, 섬유예술에 있어 인간의 회상심리 반영을 연구대상으로 하여 인체 요소 중 과거를 거슬러 올라가는 상징적 의미의 손과 발을 모티브로 목적표출 하였다. 작품제작에 있어 표현방법은 직물의 중첩효과를 기본으로 하여 시간의 경과와 역행의 과정을 표현하였다. 손과 발의 자국은 걷거나 뛰는 의지적인 행동의 대상으로, 이렇게 제작된 직물을 바닥과 벽에 길게 설치하여 시간의 연속성을 나타내고자 하였다. 이를 바탕으로 한 작품제작의 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 예술에 있어 회상은 작가에게 무한한 창작의 요소가 되며 개인의 역사를 되돌아보게 함으로써 발전적인 미래상의 제시를 가능하게 한다는 점이다. 둘째, 인체의 부분요소로서 손과 발은 구조상 그 움직임이 특히 자유롭고 신경 및 근육구조가 가장 즉각적으로 기록되는 부분이기 때문에 인간의 의지적 행동을 단적으로 드러낼 수 있다. 셋째, 흔적의 효과는 시간의 경과를 은유적으로 나타내며 과거 회상의 느낌을 더욱 강하게 전달한다. 넷째, 직물을 성글게 피스로 제작함에 따라 보관과 설치가 용이하고 중첩된 느낌의 증대와 깊이감 있는 표현에 효과적이다. 다섯째, 직물제작은 평면으로 제작하였으나 설치 방법에 따라 다양한 표현이 가능하며 공간구성에 따른 관람자의 이동거리를 자연스럽게 유도할 수 있다. 이와 같은 연구를 바탕으로 하여 앞으로 깊이 있는 연구와 창작을 계속적으로 해나가야 하겠다. ; To know oneself is the basic problem in the philosophy. From the ancient mithology to the modern science, the matters of various concerns in the philosophical subject have been aimed at the pursuit of the deep understanding about it. The reminiscence studied in this report may lead you to the recognition of the relationship with yourself, and the essence of a human being. This study is related to the expression of reminiscence image for the seek after the value of self-identity. The purpose of the study is to express the human instinct which has a tendency to return to the early stage of the life, on the assumtion that human being is defined as a reminiscent existence. As a theoretical approach, this report shows, i) the close connection between the concept of reminiscence and the identity of human existence, ii) the review of the expression of sectional human body in the formative art, iii) the analysis about works of various prominent artists who have expressed reminiscence images. In the production of the work, the lapse and reverse of time is expressed by the overlap effect of textile. Traces of hand and foot(hand and foot prints) in works are the symbols of action of one s own free will, which is installed in the space. The results are as follows: First, reminiscence is the generative power to stimulate one s creativity in the arts. It makes one to look back upon the past times and give an opportunity to develop one s vision for future. Second, hand and foot are appropriate to express the movement of one s own will because they are the most active parts in the human body. Third, the traces of hand and foot can give viewers not only an image of the movement and its speed but the lapse of time, so that it can make viewers feel the reminiscence. Fourth, works are produced in many pieces so that it was appropriate to express the overlap effect. In addition, the preservation and the installation of the works could be easily done. by this method. Fifth, although textiles are plane works, the various expressions such as cubic effect could be possible according to the way how they are installed. Based on this study carried out so far, the author intends to carry on research and creative activity in the future to deepen one s understanding of the theme on human existence dealt with in this paper.
