TV 드라마의 대화 분석

Abstract

우리가 일상 생활에서 사용하는 대화는 어떤 일정한 틀 속에서 규칙적인 모습을 가지고 이루어지고 있다. TV드라마는 그러한 우리의 일상 생활을 잘 반영하고 있으므로 TV드라마를 통해 우리가 사용하는 대화의 특징들을 살펴보았다. I장에서는 현재 이루어지고 있는 대화분석에 대한 선행 연구를 검토하였다. 본고는 선행연구들에서 보여주었던 주제들을 제시하였다. 그리고 그 선행 연구들이 어떤 식으로 변화하였는지 제시하였다. II장에서는 대화분석(conversation analysis)이란 무엇인지 살펴본 후 대화분석에 사용되는 개념들을 보았다. 통상적으로 대화분석은 대화의 구조를 통해 대화의 특징을 본다. 그러나 본고는 대화의 구조와 대화의 원리를 통해 대화의 특징을 보고자 한다. 그렇기 때문에 왜 대화의 원리까지 보고자하는 지 제시하였다. 그런 후 대화분석의 구조, 원리의 개념에 대해 살펴보았다. III장에서는 TV 드라마의 대화의 구조적 특성을 알아보았다. A장에서는 TV 드라마에 나오는 대화들을 대상으로 하여 일반상황에서의 대화를 순서교대(turn taking)와 순서교대회피, 중복(overlap)으로 나누어 특징을 살펴보았다. B장에서는 갈등상황에서의 대화를 순서교대(turn taking)와 순서교대회피, 중복(overlap)으로 나누어 특징을 알아보았다. C장에서는 갈등해결이 이루어지는 상황에서 나타나는 대화를 대상으로 하여 순서교대회피와 중복이 순서교대로 바뀌어가는 모습에서 나타나는 특징을 제시하였다. TV드라마의 대화 구조적 특성을 본 결과 모든 상황을 통틀어 순서교대가 가장 많이 사용되고 있었다. 그 외의 중복이나 순서교대회피는 의도적으로 사용되는 경우 대화의 전략적 사용이라고 볼 수 있었다. IV장에서는 TV 드라마의 대화의 원리적 특성을 알아보았다. 본고는 Grice의 협동 원리(The co-operative principle)인 질의 격률, 양의 격률, 관련성의 격률, 태도의 격률과 Leech의 공손 원리(politeness principle) 중 요령의 격률과 칭찬의 격률, 동의의 격률을 통해 TV 드라마에 나타나는 대화를 보았다. A장에서는 협동원리와 공손원리를 통해 TV 드라마에 나타나는 일상대화의 특징을 보았다. B장에서는 협동원리와 공손원리를 통해 TV 드라마에 나타나는 갈등대화의 특징을 살펴보았다. 태도의 격률 중 중의성지키기-질의 격률-태도의 격률 중 모호성지키기-적합성의 격률-요령의 격률-태도의 격률 중 간결하게 하기-양의 격률-태도의 격률 중 순서대로 말하기-동의의 격률-칭찬의 격률의 순으로 일반 상황에서는 격률이 지켜지고 있었다. 그러나 갈등 상황에서는 태도의 격률 중 중의성지키기-질의 격률-적합성의 격률-태도의 격률 중 모호성지키기-태도의 격률 중 간결하게 하기-양의 격률-요령의 격률-태도의 격률 중 순서대로 말하기-동의의 격률-칭찬의 격률의 순으로 격률이 지켜지고 있었다. 이와 같이 일상대화와 갈등대화를 통해 본 결과 각각의 원리는 그 상황에 따라 사용되는 것에 다소 차이를 보이고 있었다. C장에서는 갈등해결이 나타나는 상황에서 대화를 할 때 어떤 격률을 위배하게되면 다른 어떤 격률을 지킴으로써 대화가 원활하게 이루어지는지 알아보았다. 그 결과 갈등을 해결하는 과정에서 대화에 사용되고 있는 원리를 보면 대부분 어떤 격률을 위배하든지 대화가 응집적으로 이루어지는 가운데 적합성의 격률을 지키고 있음이 가장 큰 특징이었다. ; Conversation we used our daily life appears regular shape in some special situation. TV dramas reflect our everyday lives very well. Therefore, this paper examines the characteristics of the conversation we use by examining the TV dramas. In chapter I, I examined the prior studies on the analysis of conversations presently being held. I presented the subjects that have been studied in the prior studies. I then presented in what ways those prior studies have changed. In chapter II, after examining what "conversation analysis" is, I examined the concepts used in that conversation analysis. Generally, conversation analysis examines the characteristic of a conversation through the structure of that conversation. However, this paper examines the characteristic of the conversation through the structure and principle of the conversation. Therefore, this paper presented why it is necessary to look into the principle of conversation as well. After that, this paper examines the concept of structure and principle of conversation analysis. Chapter III examines the structural characteristic of conversations in the TV dramas. Focusing on the conversations that appear in TV dramas, part A examines the characteristics of conversations used in everyday situations, by dividing them into "turn taking," "avoidance of turn taking," and "overlap." In part B, conversations found in discord situations are divided into "turn taking," "avoidance of turn taking," and "overlap," and the characteristics are examined. In part C, focusing on conversations that appear in situations where problems are solved, characteristics that appear when "avoidance of turn taking" and "overlap" changes to "turn taking." In the result of comparing everyday conversation with conversation in discord situation, "turn-taking" was used very well in all situation. Avoidance of "turn-taking" and "overlap" used when they used intentionally. Chapter IV examines the fundamental characteristic of conversations in TV dramas. Through the "co-operative principle" of Grice and the "politeness principle" of Leech, this paper examines the conversations that appear in the TV dramas. Part A examines the characteristics of everyday conversations that appear in TV dramas through the co-operative principle and the politeness principle. Part B examines characteristics of discord conversations that appear in TV dramas through co-operative principle and politeness principle. In result, every conversation kept according to the order "ambiguity in The Maixm of Manner"-"The Maixm of Quality"-"obscurity in The Maixm of Manner"-"The Maixm of Relevance"-"Tact Maxim"-"Be brief in The Maixm of Manner"-"The Maixm of Quantity"-"Be oderity in the Maixm of Manner"-“Agree Maxim"-"Approbation Maxim". However, conversations found in discord situations kept according to the order "ambiguity in The Maixm of Manner"-"The Maixm of Quality"-"The Maixm of Relevance"-"obscurity in The Maixm of Manner"-"Be brief in The Maixm of Manner"-"The Maixm of Quantity"-"Tact Maxim"-"Be orderly in the Maixm of Manner"-"Agree Maxim"-"Approbation Maxim". Therefore, principle of conversation was used differently by the existing state of every conversation and conversation in discord situations. When conversation is made in a situation where discord in solved, The Maixm of Relevance would keep very well, if conversation appeared cohesively.
