한국 기독교의 종교성 비판 : '신성'과 '거룩'의 개념 비교

Abstract

한국 기독교는 신성한 종교성을 가지고 있으며, 이것은 한국 기독교가 한국 사회 내에 존재한다는 시공간성을 가지고 있음을 전제한다. 신성한 종교성이란, 이데올로기적 성격을 가지고 있으면서, 권력으로 나타나는 기존 질서 체계의 유지이며 수구적 태도이며 중심에 자리를 잡고 시간으로 연장시키는 권력 의지를 말한다. 이것은 마치 인간의 생존적 본능과 직결되어 있는 원시 종교성을 통해서도 알 수 있으며, 한국 사회가 가졌던 특수한 역사적 상황과 거기서 비롯된 관습, 사고의 형식이 혈연적, 지연적 가족주의적 형태로 지속되어왔던 것임을 확인하는 것이다. 이것은 근세 이후(17세기 이후)에 나온 사회적 결과물로서, 조선 통치 이데올로기인 효의 성격과 조상숭배라는 종교성이 결합되어진 원시 종교성의 특성이었다는 사실이다. 수직적이고 권위주의적이며, 다양성이 없는 획일성, 배타성과 차별성이 그대로 기독교가 가지고 있는 종교성의 이원론적 사고와 결합하여 한국 교회에 그대로 정착된 사고 체계라는 것이다. 이를 통해 나타나는 신 이해와 목사라는 직분과 교회 직위들, 교회와 예배에 대한 개념까지 모두 신성한 종교성이라는 것을 확인해보고, 여기서 기독교 의 정체성은 어디에서 찾아질 수 있는지 물을 수 있다. 기독교의 거룩 개념을 통해 한국 기독교의 나아갈 방향성을 모색해 보는 것이다. 결과적으로, 한국 기독교의 정체성은 신성 한 종교성에 있는 것이 아니라, 거룩 한 종교성에 있는 것이며, 거룩 은 곧 성화 로 나아가는 관계 로서 이해되어져야 할 개념임을 강조하고 있다. 따라서 첫째로는, 획일적으로 이해되었던 신 에서 각기 다양한 종교 체험으로 직접 대면하여 만나는 신으로, 무섭고 전능한 신에서 인간과 대화하는 십자가의 신으로 표상의 초점을 환기 시켰으며, 둘째로는 각기 존중되어야 할 평등적 타자로서 자리 에서 정체감을 찾는 인간이 아니라 이미 신적 관계에서 회복된 인간의 주체성을 언급했다. 셋째로는, 건축으로 중심을 잡는 교회의 개념을 공동체 중심의 교회로 제자리에 놓으려고 하였다. 마지막으로, 과거 지향적이던 예배의 현상을 일상 속에서 순간마다 중요한 시점으로 보아야 한다는 성서적 관점을 따라, 인간의 삶 속의 예배를 강조하였다. 신성불가침과 같은 거리감에서 관계를 형성해왔던 한국 교회는 거룩한 공동체 의 개념으로서 변화를 두려워하지 않고 장소에서 얻어지는 존재감을 버리는 용기가 필요하다. 그 용기의 동인이 무엇이며, 교회 공동체의 신앙 대상이 무엇인지 직시할 때에만 그 변화가 가능하다는 것이다. ; This study has a purpose for discussing the identity of Korean Christianity which is under the condition of the Sacred . The concept of the Sacred resulted in the idea of Das Heilige which contained le sacre´ and le saint in French where a several of scholar divided these concepts. The sacred mentality is involved in religious phenomenon which can not be the identity of Korean Christianity. In my dissertation, I will examine the religious mentality critically in Korean Chrisianity with the view of the concept of the sacred which only exist in opposition to the profane . This brought the tendency to polarization in Korean s thoughts and cultural life. In the first chapter, I will discuss the method of the subject and preliminary comprehension of religious mentality . The second ground, the concept of the sacred is contained to prepare to interpret the religious phenomenon with R.Otto, Eliade, and Drukheim. In the third chapter, the view of God and Human being is expressed the sacred mentality of Korean Christian in empirical field of worship, ritual, and church community. Finally, my subjectivity of the holy is constituted by virtue of communication of diversity through the symbol, recognition of hidden power in knowledge, unity of transcendence and immanence, and The realized Kingdom of God here and now in hermeneutical circulation of community. Through above, I put more emphasis on the importance of paradigm of religious mentality like the sacred and the holy to reveal the Christianity in Korea.
