하나님 표상과 하나님 경험에 대한 연구 : 대상관계 이론을 중심으로

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate God representation and God experience from the object-relations theory perspectives. Freud had regarded a God representation and person s religious experience as a illusion. However, against Freud, Object Relations Theorists regarded a person s religious statement as a useful source to explore their inner psycho dynamics. Object Relations Theories advanced viewpoints which consider human faith as fundamentally be involved in man s self becoming process were explored in the context of interaction with theology. Rizzuto emphasized the individual s highly idiosyncratic and personalized representations of God derives not only from significant object relations but also from evolving self-representations and religious instruction. Rizzuto said that God representation is a complex concept derived from a man s early object relation, self representation and religious institute. Rizzuto having found God images belonging to every stage along the developmental way. This study deals with the next five parts. First, understanding the Object relations theory and Religious Experience. Secondly, understanding the origin of a person s representation of God in the course of individual s development and on the use of this representation by the individual during the life cycle. Particularly the importance and value of the illusion as a creative ability was emphasized in that it enables to have better object relations, accept and transform reality. Thirdly, understanding the transforms of God s experience and Religious maturity and enlarging the perspective on human faith especially with the object related and self becoming aspects. Fifth, author analyzes three cases on God representation, object representation and self representation. Through this work the author finds that God representation, their self representation, object representation and emotional states are influenced by early object relations and God images belonging to every stage along the developmental way. Therefore the author attempts to suggest a pastoral counseling approach to heal God s Relations through God representation. To implement the above mentioned thesis the author proposes two possibilities. One is the counseling approach as transitional area to offer mothering role, and the other is the group approach as facilitating environments which focuses on didactic and sensitive aspects. Through the result of this work the author suggests the followings; First, the necessity of construction of God representation Questionnaire s for Korean. Secondly, the awakening and improvement about church environments to strengthen distorted God image, Thirdly, necessity of revision and establishment of the practical group counseling program design to apply in Korean situation. ; 본 연구는 개인의 심리발달 과정과 하나님 경험에 중요한 기능을 하는 하나님 표상에 대해 대상관계 이론의 관점에서 살펴보고, 사례분석을 통해 하나님 표상이 단순히 제도적인 종교의 가르침에 의해서 형성되는 것이 아니라 개인의 초기 대상경험과 자기 표상과의 끊임없는 상호작용에 의해 형성되며, 개인의 삶에 미치는 하나님 표상의 영향과 하나님 표상의 기능이 하나님 경험에 전이될 수 있음을 분석하고 아울러 영적 성숙이 심리적 성숙과 맥을 같이 하는 것임을 논의하고자 하였다. 따라서 본 연구의 목적은 대상관계 이론의 유용한 통찰과 사례분석을 통해 하나님 표상의 형성과정과 개인의 삶에 미치는 영향을 분석하고 이와 더불어 신앙 성숙과 하나님과의 올바른 관계 정립에 중요한 심리학적 자료를 제시하고 인간신앙에 대해 보다 확대되고 성숙한 이해를 가지는 것이다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 다음과 같이 구성되었다. II장에서는 대상관계 이론에 대한 이해와 대상관계 이론의 관점에서 종교경험에 대해 살펴보고 III장에서는 하나님 표상의 이해를 기초로 하나님 표상의 형성과정과 기능을 살펴보고 발달단계에 따라 하나님 표상이 변화하는 것을 살펴본다. IV장에서는 하나님 표상의 기능이 대상관계 경험에 전이됨을 살펴보고 심리적 발달과 신앙의 성숙과정의 상호연결성에 대해 살펴보고 V장에서는 두 명의 사례를 통해 각 개인의 하나님 표상과 자기표상에 대해 살펴보고, 발달단계에 따른 하나님 표상의 변화를 분석하고 종교적 경험이 개인의 삶에 미치는 영향에 대해서 논의하고 VI장에서는 본 논문의 연구 결과를 요약 정리하고 긍정적인 하나님 표상과 성숙한 신앙을 위한 대안을 제시하였다. 본 연구의 결과 하나님 표상은 단순히 제도적인 종교의 가르침에 의해서 형성되는 것이 아니라 개인의 초기 대상경험과 자기표상과의 끊임없는 상호작용에 의해 형성되며, 인생주기를 통해 계속 변화하고, 개인이 경험하는 인생의 사건에 따라 달라질 수 있음을 볼 수 있었다. 그리고 내면화된 하나님 표상은 하나님 경험과 대인관계에 전이되어 나타나며 신앙이 심리적 맥락과 중요한 관련성이 있음을 살펴보았다. 특히 부모라는 중요 대상과의 경험은 하나님 표상에 전이되고 있음을 알 수 있었고 종교적 경험 가운데 기도는 개인의 삶을 변화시키는 중요한 요인이 되고 있음을 볼 수 있었다. 본 연구의 통찰을 목회상담의 장에 적용한다면 상담자는 개인의 삶의 경험과 대상관계와의 상호관련성을 인식하면서 상담과정을 통해 개인의 왜곡된 하나님 표상을 바로잡아줄 뿐만 아니라 긍정적인 자기표상을 형성할 수 있도록 조력해야 하고 목회자는 균형적인 하나님 표상의 제시를 통해 각 개인이 올바른 하나님 인식과 성숙한 신앙인으로서의 삶을 살아갈 수 있도록 조력해야 한다. 교회 공동체는 개인을 위로해주고 지지해주는 품어주는 공간 의 역할을 통해 친밀하고 인격적인 하나님 이미지와 표상이 바로 자리매김할 수 있는 장이 되도록 해야 한다. 또한 교인들 상호간에 따뜻하고 충분히 좋은 엄마 의 역할을 할 수 있도록 상호 수용적인 태도가 가지는 의미와 중요성을 깨달을 수 있도록 해야 한다. 따라서 교회 공동체는 삶에 지친 영혼들이 쉬어갈 수 있는 새로운 전환기적 공간이 되어야 한다. 이 공간을 통해 무섭고 엄격한 대상으로서의 하나님 이미지가 아니라 우리에게 살아가는 힘을 주고, 자신을 긍정하게 하는 하나님을 만날 수 있도록 해야 한다. 이와 같은 연구결과를 토대로 다음과 같은 제언을 하였다. 첫째, 한국의 기독교인들의 하나님 표상의 유형을 분류하고 하나님과의 관계성을 측정하고 올바른 하나님과의 관계성을 가질 수 있도록 도울 수 있는 하나님 표상 검사지를 제작할 것과 둘째, 하나님 표상에 중요한 영향을 끼치는 초기대상관계 경험과 자존감의 요인을 고려한 집단상담을 개발하여 개인의 내면을 치유하고 나아가서 하나님과의 올바른 관계성을 형성하고 회복할 수 있도록 도울 것을 요청한다.
