A comparative study on software packages for survey data analysis

Abstract

복잡한 확률표본설계를 기초로 수집된 데이터를 적법하게 분석하려면 반드시 조사설계를 고려하여 통계적 추론을 전개해야 한다. 만일 조사 설계를 무시하고 분석하면 각종 추정량의 분산이 과소추정되며, 이 결과 제1종 오류의 확률이 매우 높아진다. 이 논문에서는 복잡한 조사데이터를 전문적으로 분석하는 소프트웨어 패키지를 소개한다. 결론적으로 SUDAAN 과 SAS는 현재 가장 유용하게 활용되는 팩키지라는 결론을 얻었다. ; In order to make statistically valid inferences from survey data based on complex probability sample designs, survey researchers must incorporate the sample design in the data analysis. If this is not the case, the variance estimates of survey statistics derived under the usual simple random sampling assumptions from an infinite population generally underestimate the true variance, which results in a high Type I error level. In this Thesis, we introduce new software packages dedicated to analyze complex survey data. From the results, SAS/SUDAAN are the most complete statistical software packages that are currently available for use by the general survey data analysts.
