바라봄과 상상에 의한 표현

Abstract

화면에 형상을 표현하는데 있어서 그 과정은 매우 다양하다. 본인은 그러한 다양한 표현의 과정 중에서 대상에 내면의 이야기를 담아 은유적으로 표현하는 방식을 연구하고자 한다. 동양회화전통에서 문인화(文人畵)는 내면의 이야기를 대상에 은유적으로 담아 표현하는 표현방식으로 볼 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 문인화(文人畵)의 절정기였던 송(宋)대 소식(蘇軾)의 흉중성죽(胸中成竹) 이론을 바탕으로 하여 창작 과정에서 일어나는 내면의 변화와 그에 따르는 표현 내용 및 방법에 대해 연구하고자 한다. 그리고 소식(蘇軾)의 흉중성죽(胸中成竹) 이론에서 나타나는 창조의 과정인 안중(眼中)의 죽(竹), 흉중(胸中)의 죽(竹), 수중(手中)의 죽(竹) 을 바탕으로 하여 창작의 과정을 바라봄, 상상, 표현의 세 단계로 분류하고, 대상을 표현하기까지의 과정을 연구하며 본인의 작품을 분석하고자 한다. 사물을 통해서 자아의 내면을 표현하는 과정에서 가장 먼저 있는 과정은 대상을 바라보는 것이다. 바라볼 때는 대상을 관찰하게 되고 그것을 기억한다. 그리고 대상을 통해서 과거의 기억을 회상해 낸다. 바라봄을 통해서 관찰한 대상과 회상한 기억은 상상을 통해서 주관적으로 변화한다. 상상의 과정에서는 대상을 깊이 관찰하면서 자아가 대상과 일치(물화物化)되어 대상에 자아의 생각을 담게 된다. 그리고 바라보면서 회상된 기억들이 조합된다. 마지막으로 표현의 단계에서는 앞서 상상된 자아의 생각을 대상에 비유하여 표현하고 회상된 기억의 공간을 화면에 조합하여 새로운 공간을 표현한다. 본 연구는 바라봄과 상상을 통해서 표현되는 본인의 작품을 중심으로 창작의 과정에 대한 연구와 작품 분석을 하고자 하였다.; In expressing shapes on canvas, the processes are really various. The present writer will study the expression methods metaphorically to give internal story to the subjects among such various processes of expression. A painting in the literary artist s style in an Oriental painting tradition is an expression method which represent internal story to the subjects metaphorically. This thesis will research the internal change originating in the creative processes and related contents & ways of expression on the basis of the Divine Bamboo in the Heart theory by So Shik in the Sung dynasty, the peak of prosperity of the painting in the literary artist s style. Under the Divine Bamboo in the Heart theory, I will analyze my works dividing the creative processes into three processes such as watching, imagination, expression based on the creative processes, Bamboo in the Eyes , Bamboo in the Heart , and Bamboo in the Hands. Watching is the first process of expressing the interior self through objects. When you watch something, you look at the subjects, remember them. And then, you recollect the past remembrance through the subjects. It is changed by imagination that the recollected remembrance and the subjects by watching. In imagination process, self look at the subjects thoroughly, and then self will be equal to the subjects(materialized) and the thought of self will remain on the subjects. In watching process, the recollected remembrance is compounded. Finally, in expression process, the thought of self imagined will be expressed comparing to the subjects and the new space will be expressed by combination of the space of the recollected remembrance in canvas.
